Sometimes I think the universe is trying to tell us something. I read an article recently that talked about how our kids our people too, and just like us they have bad days. Bad days where they are cranky, snap at people, or are short tempered. Maybe they didn’t get enough sleep, maybe they are hungry or maybe they are emotional. But the bottom line was they are human just like us and maybe on these days instead of discipline or getting frustrated, we need to give them extra snuggles or some attention and love. Last night my youngest was having one of those days. Lukas is balls to wall with everything. So when he’s upset, it’s like a mini typhoon. He brings that same passion to everything he does, which I love about him. But as a stressed momma coming home late from work trying to get a hundred things done it can be exhausting. I wanted to yell. I wanted to put him in time out. I wanted rage as he fought me for the tenth time on something he knew he shouldn’t. But then I remembered that article, and I stopped. I looked at my little boy who looked angry at the world. I hugged him instead. I asked him if he was having a bad day and he said “yes mommy”. So we talked. My 4 year old and I. His brother joined. And what started as a frustrating night ended really well, because I remembered my kid is allowed to have a bad day too. One of my favorite pastimes is reading. I've evolved from my SVH (Sweet Valley High for those that don't know 😁) days, but I still make sure I read daily. Even when I'm camping, I bring along a book AND a Kindle. This past weekend, I started reading Girl, Wash Your Face by @msrachelhollis. I had heard nothing but good things about it so I bought it awhile back to bring on the trip. I'm a few chapters in and I am really liking it so far! If you’re a visual learner this is for you. 🙋🏻♀️❤️ I’m going to give you just 4 tips and encourage you to WATCH this video (and SAVE for later) several times, film yourself and compare (I know we say never compare, but here it will help!!). ❤️ Sometimes we get overwhelmed by all the cues and it just takes matching a visual with your own body movement. I’m focusing here on the lift off (hardest part) and puppy press bc it’s often the easiest first press. Read on.... . . After you are warm (all the prep) for handstanding and you have held at the wall to feel alignment (hips over shoulders over wrists) try this: 1- breath - inhale look forward, exhale completely, 2- lean shoulders past wrists and come to tippy toes so hips are almost over (or over shoulders) and feet float...everything engaged, 3- as soon as toes lift slice out, 4 - find stability here by extending puppy leg so you are in a straddle. . . You don’t get this in a job☀️ I can honestly say I’ve worked full time all my life in one tedious role after another meeting great people but never finding what I’m good at or what truly makes me happy.......Until now!! I start my working day when Izabelle is that tired of having fun that she falls asleep and I stop working when she wakes in time to collect the boys.
