I feel a need to #repost @cartergood original Progress post. 🤗A client of mine asked me last night, “How can we speed this up? A stricter diet, something?” 💁‍♀️Keep in mind this client is HALF HER SIZE from when she started with me two years ago. When she started she could not.... 💃1. Lift her own legs to do a leg lift. Today she can do continuous leg lifts holding a 25 pound plate for one minute. 🏃‍♀️2. She had trouble stepping up on curbs. Today she does bench step ups and runs bleachers. 🏋️‍♂️3. She could not do shoulder presses without weights. Her arms got sore just from lifting above her head. Today she is using 15 pound dumbbells easily. 🚶‍♀️4. Then if someone told her to walk across the park it would have taken 15 minutes and several stops to catch her breathe. Today she will smile and tell you she completed the @spartanrace Sprint at Snow Summit. She conquered the elevation climb in the thousands with blood clots in her lungs. Not to mention carried a 40 pound bag of sound up part of that monsterous hill because she can! 🏄‍♀️5. Two years ago her workouts were a couple times a week and it was so hard to just lift her legs. Short and sweet workout for this pretty mom. She came, conquered and gave me a few eye roll 🙄 before leaving 😂. This is her first day back after being absent for awhile so the workout was light. 3 sets of bench step ups each leg 10 times. I know I posted this in my story but when I read this yesterday I truly liked it. I wish I could remember who posted it so I could give them credit. I’ve been in this industry for awhile and have seen this happen with so many. We get lost. I say we as I once got so involved with that “perfect” physique that I ignored my family and became someone I was not. People ask me now, “When are you going back to that level? You know how to do it.” Yes, I know how to do it but I also know what I lost when I did that. It’s not worth it. There are a few who can truly balance this but that number is very low. I have some dear friends who I see now chasing the “greatness” the “perfect” physique and with each selfie posted 10 different times a day, each fake smile and can tell you that greatness is not worth dictating “fake ness” to myself, to my family, to my friends nor to my clients. Pull your belly button in towards your spine and push your lower back into the floor, flattening your back. Hold this position for 15 seconds, then relax. Repeat 5 to 10 times. Dead bug: Lie on your back with your knees bent, arms at your sides, and feet flat on the floor. Draw in your abdomen and tighten your abdominal muscles. While keeping your abdominal muscles tight and knees bent, lift one leg several inches off the floor, hold for 5 seconds, and then lower it. Repeat this exercise with the opposite leg. Then lift your arm over your head, hold for 5 seconds, and then lower it. Repeat with the opposite arm. Do 5 repetitions with each leg and arm. Once this exercise gets easy, raise one leg and the opposite arm together. Hold for 5 seconds. Lower your arm and leg and raise the opposite arm and leg up and hold for 5 seconds. Do 3 sets of 5 repetitions. Partial curl: Lie on your back with your knees bent and your feet flat on the floor. Draw in your abdomen and tighten your stomach muscles. With your hands stretched out in front of you, curl your upper body forward until your shoulders clear the floor. Hold this position for 3 seconds. Don't hold your breath. It helps to breathe out as you lift your shoulders. Relax back to the floor. Repeat 10 times. Build to 2 sets of 15. To challenge yourself, clasp your hands behind your head and keep your elbows out to your sides. After you have become good at the partial curl, you can do a diagonal curl to help strengthen your oblique abdominal muscles. Continued in comments

Cauliflower Hummus 6 cups cauliflower florets (about 1 medium head) 1.5 tsp olive oil 1.5 tsp smoked paprika 0.75 tsp red pepper flakes 1.5 garlic cloves 0.38 cup tahini paste ? cup water Juice from 1 small lemon Salt to taste Instructions Preheat oven to 425. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper. In a bowl, toss cauliflower with olive oil, smoked paprika, red pepper flakes, and salt. Spread florets evenly out on baking sheet. Roast in oven until tender and slightly blackened, about 20 minutes. Let cool for 5 minutes. She works so hard and has lost so much already. She gets frustrated at times and thinks, “she’s bigger, she’s not changing.” She always forgets until I tell her or remind her when she first started. Tonight she did 10 burpees in 3.41 seconds minutes. When she first started those 10 burpees would have taken 15 minutes or more. She couldn’t get up and down. She had to drop to her knees and crawl up with a bench or chair. She couldn’t jump. She would get out of breathe after 1 burpee. This video she did 4 sets of 10 burpees with lat pull downs, chest presses, pushups, shoulder presses, and planks. Plus she was not feeling the best. When you think you are not getting anywhere. Clean Protein Powder was used in this recipe 1/2 cup mini dark chocolate chips 1/2 cup chia seeds or ground flax seeds 1/2 cup raisins 1 cup natural peanut butter 1/2 cup lite coconut milk, (more or less as needed to reach desired consistency) 1/4 cup honey (raw honey if possible) In a blender, pulse 1 1/2 cups of the oats until a flour like consistency.
