just added some info to my story highlights for those who have been asking me for tips about how to find a good therapist. 📌 . if you’re LGBTQIA+, kinky, POC, working in the sex or cannabis industries, or living any kind of alternative lifestyle, finding the right therapist can be tricky because the mental health world is just a microcosm of the rest of the world, and there are lots of people with conservative, normative, or white-centric agendas who have zero frame of reference for what you’re going through. . i am not an expert on any of this, but i definitely know the value of finding the right mental health professional to suit your needs, and how much your life can improve as a result. i have also heard too many stories of the unfortunate experiences had by too many people when they were paired with a therapist who was a bad fit. . if you’re ready to take this step in your healing and are looking to resource yourself, check my story for some suggestions and resources. . investing in your mental and emotional health is nothing to be ashamed of. all of us have trauma and honestly most of us could benefit from being better resourced than we are. with proper care, mental illness can be managed and even overcome. you deserve to have a better quality of life. break the stigma. get the help you need. 💖 . . . 📷: @thebonewitch #mentalhealthawareness #depression #anxiety #ptsd #selfcare #healing
