En pratiquant on se tord dans tous les sens, on vient faire passer des #asana que l’on aurait jamais imaginé faire passer dans notre corps, on vient le tordre littéralement. On ne reste pas en surface, là où tout est facile, joli, clair. On va chercher plus loin. Jusqu’à tomber, réessayer encore et encore, aller chercher son courage, comprendre ou ça lâche pas et où ça ne doit surtout pas lâcher ... Et à travers ce mouvement, à travers cette matière que l’on « triture », renforce, ouvre... comme de la pâte à modeler, on comprend bien plus qu’il n’y parait.✨ j’adore regarder mes eleves pratiquer, on peut TOUT lire dans nos corps. C’est un véritable livre ouvert des blocages, angoisses, noeuds, peurs, ego... c’est fascinant vraiment. Et ce qui me passionne le plus c’est de suivre et travailler petit à petit sur ces corps. Voir les transformations opérer sur la matière d’abord et sur le reste ensuite. C’est Passionnant de travailler ainsi. Chaque corps est si différent, il porte notre histoire de vie. 🇩🇪 Kennt ihr eigentlich Waschkugeln? Hierbei handelt es sich um Kunststoffkugeln die wiederum kleine Keramikkugeln enthalten. Die Waschkugel packt ihr mit in die Waschmaschine und durch die Reibung der kleinen Keramikkugeln im Inneren wird der PH-Wert des Wassers verändert (das Wasser wird weicher) und die Schmutzaufnahme des Wassers wird gesteigert. Bei normal verschmutzter Wäsche braucht man daher kein Waschmittel mehr. Bei stark verschmutzter Wäsche reicht, ein bisschen Waschmittel mit dazuzutun. Die Waschkugel soll bis zu 1000 Wäschen halten. Wenn man Angst hat, dass die Wäsche beschädigt wird, packt man einfach ein kleines Netz um die Waschkugel. Selbst wenn man nur 2/3 der Wäsche ohne Waschmittel schafft...nicht die perfekte Alternative zu anderen Waschmitteloptionen aber trotzdem ziemlich viel Chemie, die der Umwelt erspart bleibt 💪 • 🇬🇧 Do you know laundry balls? A laundry ball is a plastic ball which contains small ceramics beads. You put the laundry ball together with your laundry into the washing machine and because of the ceramics beads' friction the water's pH level changes (gets softer) and its dirt holding capacity increases. Because of that you can skip adding detergent to normal contaminated clothes and need less for highly contaminated clothes. If you're afraid of damaging your clothes you can put the laundry ball into a net. I love Twist and this pose is a great hip-opener as well. I have tried this pose for the first time a month ago @yoga_with_lori' class and I felt in love with this twist. This pose is perfect for tight hips because it stretches the hip rotators and the hip flexors. Уттхита паршвоконасана ⠀ Асана способствует и укреплению боковых мышц, уменьшает жировые отложения в области талии. ⠀ - Прыжком или отшагиванием поставьте стопы на ширину приблизительно 1,2 метра. Стопы должны находиться на одной линии, корпус на время выполнения асаны также должен находится в одной плоскости ⠀ - Правую стопу заворачиваем немного внутрь, при этом колено продолжает смотреть вперед. Левая стопа поворачивается наружу на угол 90 градусов. Далее сгибаете левое колено так, чтобы ☝️между бедром и голенью образовался угол 90 градусов☝️ (не переносите вес полностью на левую стопу, старайтесь, чтобы он находился между стоп). ⠀ - Руки расставьте в стороны, корпус ровный, сделайте вдох. На выдохе опускайте левую руку рядом с одноименной стопой, подмышка должна опуститься на колено. Правая рука вытягивается над головой по направлению в лево. Старайтесь раскрыть всю правую сторону. ⠀ - Постойте в асане несколько дыхательных циклов. Повторяем на другую сторону. ⠀ - Рекомендации начинающим, если тяжело поставить ладонь на пол, вначале можно положить локоть на колено (смотри на фото ниже), только не переносите туда весь свой вес. Следующим этапом можно дотронуться пальцами рук до пола.

‘I’m sorry but I can’t square my hips. They just don’t work that way.’ Is what a student told me yesterday in class while practicing virabhadrasana 3. Typically, people stack the hips in this pose to compensate for tight or weak hip muscles. It results in a pose that is fairly easy to hold as the muscles don’t have to work that hard. But it’s not the correct pose and it’s not benefitting you in any way. I could empathise with her frustration as it took me a long time to develop my hip muscles and create awareness in that region. You think your hips are squared and then the teacher adjusts you and it’s like a whole new sensation. It’s easy to say: ‘i have short arms, so i’ll never be able to pick up’ or ‘i can’t balance, my body doesn’t do that’ Because then you blame your inability on something external that you can’t change and you don’t have to take responsibility. I quickly lowered her raised leg until the pelvis was squared. ‘Look, your hips are squared now, your body is perfectly able to square the hips. You just need to strenghten and stretch the hip muscles’ This is where the process starts. Accepting where you are right now. Practing patience as it takes time to develop muscle and flexibilty. And taking responsibility. Going through the discomfort of ‘sucking’ at it. It’s easier to say: ‘I can’t do that’ How we act on the mat reflects how we deal with life. So maybe this student also blames other seemingly unchangeable things for her current circumstance. Is there something you say is just not possible for you? Is it true? What’s the story you tell yourself?

Sobre expectativas! As expectativas não são mais do que meras narrativas ilusórias que a mente cria à cerca de algo que está para acontecer. A desilusão surge quando eu acho que algo devia ser como eu imaginei ou idealizei, e quando as coisas não o são, ficamos tristes, magoadas, desiludidas. Tenho tido tanto trabalho neste campo da minha vida que levei uns bons anos a perceber este mecanismo e a sair dele. Tenho trabalhado muito este tema, seja na minha relação, seja nas viagens que fiz, nas relações amizades, no meu trabalho, até na minha própria prática de #yoga!! E todas estas situações obrigaram a desapegar-me de cenários que a minha mente foi criando à cerca de algo, que tem sido brutal desconstruir no meu Ser. Nestes últimos anos a aceitação tem sido trabalhada de forma muito intensa, a Vida tem me dado de facto muito trabalho interno, várias lições mas cada vez mais leveza de espírito. Aprendi que quando deixas de expectar algo, acabas por te deixar fluir com o que a Vida te traz a cada momento, e esse fluir dá-te uma paz de espírito brutal, porque, se é assim que está a acontecer, é porque não poderia ser de maneira diferente . Let gravity assist your forward fold with a huge dangle. Spend 3-5+ minutes in this forward fold to reap the benefits - the longer the better. Bending your knees requires more effort (muscular engagement), but will unlock your spine a little more. Straightening your legs and relaxing your knees requires mobility and flexibility, but will allow you to passively fall into the full range of this fold, opening the whole superficial backline and specifically the lower back region we tend to struggle with! Let’s live in a world where we have more compassion to be better alongside others, lifting each other up rather than trying to be the best, trying to prove something or putting others in a separate box to ourselves. At the end of the day you get what you work for. Comparing yourself to other people will never make you happy. Share your passions and celebrate successes together. You never know the true depth of each individuals struggles, how hard they have worked to be where they are or how long it’s taken them....Rather than being jealous, get your head down and simply work towards what you truly want. Find your why. I’m more clear in my mind than ever before what my why is and how to get there. I will always be supportive and genuinely happy for others success as I would hope those around me would be supportive of me. This fills me. There are days where I have self doubt about my impact as a student, guide, mentor and yoga teacher . One of my divine students who is so dedicated to her practice broke her wrist (not at my yoga class !!). You can imagine this impact to an asana practice. As the weight bearing in this joint is a primary requirement for many asana, we work together to support her to practice - and it’s not physical ! I love the transformation that yoga can bring- it’s a privilege to be part of her healing. Почему я прошу ходить на свои классы по йоге регулярно? Деньги💰? Нет со своих классов я не вижу ни копейки. Дисциплина! Дисциплина - тренирует ум, делая его устойчивым и трудолюбивым. Достигается контроль над органами чувств. Чего и вам желаю. Не стоит ходить в миллион клубов на два миллиона инструкторов. Возьмите все до дна у одного/двух выбранных вами. I have a conversation on a weekly basis with at least one person at the yoga studios I teach and once again had it this morning. It usually starts off with "Wait...you're not a full-time yoga instructor?" It's funny to see the surprise on peoples' faces when I say "No, I have a 9-5 gig.at a pharmaceutical company. I teach yoga for fun” (full-stop). They see me in this light and not as a corporate guy . But the irony is I actually have a similar conversation at work too when people find out I teach yoga. That conversation usually kicks off with "Where do you find the time?" I make the time: if it means waking up an hour or so earlier on weekdays to teach before work, or losing an hour of sitting on the couch and watching Netflix after work, it's a small price to pay because it's something I'm passionate about and love sharing with others. . I was talking with male co-worker the last week and he was genuinely impressed that I 1) do yoga and 2) teach it. He said he was curious to try it, but--like many men--scared to actually step into a studio and not be good at it. I told him all the stereotypical yoga responses, "it doesn't matter about how flexible you are," "just showing up is what's important, "....yadda yadda yadda. As we kept talking, I noticed a shift during the conversation and he said he'd give a class a try at the gym. I don't know if he has yet or not, but it was pretty cool to share a little about me and possibly get one more dude in the yoga dudes tribe. The ball is in his court. 🧘‍♂️ ✌️
