Estos días he hablado con varias personas de la flexibilidad (corporal), porque muchas personas piensan que tienen que ser flexibles para hacer yoga, y esto es lo que les he dicho. Mi fisioterapeuta un día me dijo que la flexibilidad es una condición, se nace con ella o no. PERO (y ojo al pero), se puede desarrollar, y es uno de los aspectos con los que más agradecidos es el cuerpo. Con hacer ejercicios de estiramiento de manera constante el cuerpo va respondiendo de una manera increíble. Entonces, si no son naturalmente flexibles porque no tienen esa condición, no tiene sentido compararse con otras personas y no hay de qué preocuparse, SE PUEDE desarrollar. Y si sí son naturalmente flexibles, la pueden incrementar. Yo por ejemplo soy naturalmente flexible, pero no soy la más flexible, muchos estiramientos me cuestan y MUCHO, y es más, me parece más duro trabajar en la flexibilidad que en la fuerza. Al punto en el que estoy hoy he llegado progresivamente, no fue el punto de partida. En la foto por ejemplo, pueden ver que la pierna no está completamente estirada, porque todavía se me dificulta, otras personas en cambio la podrán estirar del todo con facilidad casi que la primera vez que la intenten, mientras otras tendrán la pierna mucho más flexionada por un poquito más de tiempo. Pero cómo no, si todos somos tan diferentes, y eso está perfectamente bien. #practiceandalliscoming #yogalife

~ WHEN YOU HAVE A CRANKY SHOULDER ~ Switch out the horse 🐴 I’m not always pain free, I’m not always motivated, and I’m for sure not always getting my practice to work like magic. The body is a dynamic and complex system that I will probably never fully understand. One thing I do understand is how experiencing pain can be such an easy block on the road to get that practice done. Here’s a tips that might work 👉🏼 Whenever I feel like not getting back on the horse, I switch it out for one of those cute little ponies that will make the next ride super easy. Try something simple, something you really like, try savasana if nothing else works. Pick the cute little pony, whatever that pony is to you. 💪🏼 I took my cranky shoulder on a savasana ride the other week when nothing else worked, last week through isometrics, this week through ranges of motion where it doesn’t hurt. Who knows about next week. Well well, here’s what worked this week. Some half light parts of shoulder CARs #functionalrangeconditioning style 👌🏼 Speed x2.
