Fat loss, hypertrophy and strength gains are all dependant, to more or less of a degree, on you making progress in the gym. Progress in the gym means, among other things, adding more weight on the exercises you perform. But how do you know when to add more weight to the bar? 1. Make sure that technique is good before anything else. 2. If you are using a 4-6 rep range, and feel like you could do 2 or more extra reps with good technique, you probably need to add weight. 3. If you are working in an 8 to 15 rep range, and can do 4 or more reps, then it's time to add weight. As always make sure technique is solid and pay attention to your rest times as appropriate.
