Its insane to me to think that just over a year ago (September 2017) 385 was a difficult 1rm for me. Fast forward a year with ungodly amounts of happiness, stress, failures, challenges and personal issues and I've still persevered through it and gotten stronger in every aspect. We tend to overestimate what we can do each day and underestimate what we can do over the long term. ¶ The key is to work with consistency not intensity, to overcome inertia. Instead of going to the gym once a month and working out a few hours, would it be beneficial to go on regular basis and put in 20 to 40 minutes of workout each day? You bet!!! When you put in the work each day consistently, by the end of the year you will have gained a great deal of competency, added to your set of skills and what you know and understand. Consistency is the key to reaching your goals and produce extraordinary outcomes. Planning your days, weeks, months and year allows you to take those needle mover steps towards your minor and major milestone goals. ¶ I use my calendar for everything I do. Going to the gym? It’s on my calendar. Meeting someone for coffee - it is on the calendar My To-Do lists, reminders and all my work schedule - it is on my calendar. This way I never overbook or double book myself, and most of my life runs with a degree of precision. But that doesn’t mean I not flexible as well and change my plans when things are not working out as anticipated. ¶ Key to getting organized: Consistency. Flexibility. And being adaptable to varying changing circumstances that are outside my control that I must accommodate in my schedule. But most of the time I call the shots. I am in charge. Key word here is *SHORT TERM* as mentioned in the title and also *WEIGHT*. - This is NOT a “one diet is better than the other” post, it’s just me explaining to you WHY you experience faster WEIGHT loss when approaching a keto diet (in the first weeks) compared to a high/higher carb one. - It’s pretty simple: what makes Keto so wonderful and money making (for the coaches who promote it) is the fast initial weight loss related to the carbohydrate reduction. Each gram of carbs retains 2.4-3g of water per actual gram of carb, so reducing carbohydrate intake results in a drop in bodyweight. Chillax though, it’s just water: you’re just as fat as you were before, but because you’ve reduced your carb intake, you’re simply NOT retaining as much water as you previously did. However, you see your weight go down so quick so you’re placebo-ly happy. - Quite infact FAT LOSS is THE SAME, let me say it again: FAT LOSS IS THE SAME for both diets, and this is WHY there’s difference between saying “weight” and “fat” loss, fellas. - Y’all wanna lose FAT, not WEIGHT. I mean obviously by losing fat you’ll end up losing weight too but you get what I mean. - Please don’t get fooled by some diets claimed to “double fat loss”. - - Calories are king, and if matched, they will provide the same exact results for every single diet. - This is why you should pick your OWN one and not follow what’s trendy. И, разумеется, в моем любимом приседе. ⠀ В результате сделал топ сеты на 170х5 без пояса и 200х5 в поясе. С учетом того, что после всего пережитого я похудел на 1,5 кг!!! это, считаю, неплохой результат! 🤣🤣🤣. ⠀ После пожал легко и, как всегда, мало 😩 и замялся приседами в узкой стойке. First time benching over 225 since my pec injury. 275 for 8 after 13 sets followed by a 225 burnout. Didnt look pretty but I felt great. Hadn't been able to even do 135 without being in significant amount of pain. A reminder to myself and anyone who needs it: 🚣🏼‍♀️"Keep your head in the boat." 🚣🏼‍♀️ In my brief rowing career, this was a huge phrase during races. It doesn't matter what's going on in your life at that moment outside of rowing. You better not let it affect you because your team is depending on you. • • ✖️"Don't look at the boat next to you."✖️ Its painstakingly difficult because you want to see if you are beating them. Everyone compares themselves to others. That's not gonna get you where you wanna be. • • 🙅🏼‍♀️"They don't matter." 🙅🏼‍♀️ It doesn't mean you don't want to win. It means when you focus on yourself, you excel WAY MORE than if you're just trying to beat the boat next to you. Set your standards higher than just the competition closest to you. Stop worrying about other people. Put all your energy into yourself and you will feel much more fulfilled. Don't go to that party if you would rather train, or knit a blanket, or just sit on your ass and do nothing. Their journey is different than yours and you have no obligation to do anything other than what you want. Off my soapbox! Deadlifts are feeling less butt-jerk-up-first-y, if that's an adjective 🙂 happy Tuesday, fraaaands.

I'm not sure what the main factors contributing to progress are. Could be just putting in the work, lower volume for other lifts, the specific accessory movements I'm doing (close grip, close grip floor press, heavy dumbell press, rest pause sets), additional isolation movements (bicep/tricep/pec), or slight weight gain (I'm hovering around 67kg vs. my 66kg competition weight).
