Still aiming to be able to do bodyweight push-ups or increase the amount of repetitions you can perform with good technique? • Try negative push ups aiming for a 4-6 second decent (or just as slowly as you can to begin with, the time will increase with practice) • A negative push up starts from the top in a straight arm plank position, with hands just wider than shoulder width and in line with the chest and involves lowering down as slowly as possible, keeping the core, glutes and legs engaged you must maintain a straight back throughout the movement without letting the hips touch the floor before the chest. Try performing this exercise for 3-6 repetitions or as many as you can with strict form for 2-3 sets, as soon as form starts to break down and/or the decent cannot be controlled that is your set done. • Be aware that negative (eccentric) exercises can cause more muscle damage which is needed for building muscle, so you may be quite sore for a couple of days after trying these for the first time. • In the 3rd video you can see incorrect and correct position of the back and hips to ensure the core is kept engaged throughout the movement which is very important if you are you to progress to being able to perform full bodyweight push ups! • • • #womenwholift #pushups #negatives #thisgirlcan #negativepushups #coaching #powerbelle #strong #strength #progression #chest #thefutureisfemale #calisthenics #bodyweight #core #upperbodyworkout

⚡QUOTE OF THE WEEK⚡ "and everyday, the world will drag you by the hand, yelling, "this is important! And this is important! You need to worry about this! And this! And this!" And each day, its up to you to yank your hand back, put it on your heart and say, " No. This is whats important" Taking 45 minutes out of your day to do some exercise relax, have a stretch can be the best recovery for your mind after a long week. 😁 Lets remind ourselves take a step back and look at the positives we have in life. Take this step back and realign what it actually important and what needs to be addressed. 🧠👀👍

Thinking about those 2019 Goals? ... How did 2018 go? ... So so? Ok? Amazing? ... Sometimes we can go overboard when planning our year because we tend to WANT IT ALL. ... We want the six pack. ... The big bench press. ... The nice butt. ... And a nice easy set of 25 pull-ups. (Or maybe that’s just @toddscheidtfitness) ... But one of our best recommendations for goal setting or visions is to focus on DEPTH. ... If you create a goal that makes you put in concentrated effort you will be able to identify so much more about the pro’s, cons, and variables. ... So maybe you just pick one of those goals from above and you work a Plan Relentless to hit that ONE GOAL. ... Chances are - you will hit that goal or know exactly why you didn’t. ... Then put it on the back burner and start to apply that logic towards a NEW PRIMARY GOAL. ... Don’t waste another year skimming the surface - commit and jump in deep! ... If a normal bar row exercise is too intense just go back with your feet to make it easier. Make sure you always touch the bar with your chest in the end position of the exercise. #barrow #australianpullups #regensdorf #rümlang #zurich #dielsdorf #bodyweight #bodyweighttraining #streetworkout #exercise #streetworkoutplace #biceps

O que falar desse fds que me deixou destruído e ao mesmo tempo renovado... Apesar de muito cansativo, é sempre MT gratificante visitar os amigos que fiz através do #freeletics. O treino em si é só um protesto rs

- Finding vs creating balance - This concept was shared by @ulrikonhands and is important in the beginning stages of your handstand practice. Aimlessly kicking up into a free handstand and trying to "find" balance is a slow way to develop your handstand. This is because your body doesn't already have a map to find where the balance point is - so you're basically trying to find something that doesn't already exist for you. You might get a bit of balance here and there, but usually it's few and far between. A lot of energy will be wasted on just kicking up alone, and if you do find some balance, most likely it will be bent and look like a banana. This isn't a bad thing at the very start, but if you keep repeating this form, your body will learn to do it this way as default (not good). It's also harder to try and straighten your line if your body only knows this pattern. This is why you have to first "create" balance. Balance is created by using the wall for developing strength, endurance and flexibility through various skills and drills that match YOUR level. The wall also allows you to develop straight alignment and form that creates an efficient handstand (meaning, a handstand with your joints stacked on one another to allow for minimal effort) that will set the baseline for harder skills down the track. Once your body has created and understood the balancing point, you can then begin to work in the free handstand - because your body now has a map of where to go. This allows you to progress much quicker once the baseline has been set. If you want to join Cairns' ONLY handbalance class, we focus on these concepts of learning the handstand properly from the start. No matter what your current skill level is at (even if non-existent), we can help start your journey to a better handstand - just send us a message on how to sign up! #shoshinmovement #handstand
