#shoulders and #biceps today. Continuing to experiment with the #bfrbands throughout the #workout. Tightness was similar to yesterday and felt good. I could really feel it on the later sets and during the #spidercurls. Kept the weights lighter due to being #occluded and the increased reps. And, yes, I see my form on the spider curls is not so great. 🔱 The shoulder lateral raise is one the most important exercise to get bigger, wider shoulders for a better V-taper look. It's very important for people who are into physique or bodybuilding to have nice well developed shoulders. Here are 4 common mistakes people make and I also show you how I do it and why I do it that way. ❌ Using your traps: A very common mistake that people make is using the traps for lifting the weight. This usually happens if you are shrugging the weight or if the weight is too heavy and you're using excess momentum. Keep the weight low, you don't need to go heavy for an exercise like this. ❌ Arms completely straight: Keeping your arms completely straight puts a lot of extra pressure on the shoulder joint. A lot of this can just be avoided by bending your elbows slightly. You will not be missing out on any extra shoulder gains by bending at the elbow. ❌ Leading with your wrists: Another common mistake people make is leading with their wrists. They focus on using their wrists to get the weight up. This could lead to wrist injuries in the long run. This also leads to taking the weight too far up to the point where you lose tension in the muscle. ❌ Twisting your wrists in: Twisting your shoulders in is a "trick" that every trainer will force onto their client for "extra muscle fiber activation". Twisting your wrists in leads to internal rotation of the shoulder which could cause rotator cuff injuries in the long run. There's no need to follow this "trick". You can however, turn the wrists out, which leads to shoulder external rotation which is much safer. ✔️ A few simple guidelines to get the most out of this exercise would be to lead or focus on using your elbows. This gives much better mind muscle connection for the lateral deltoid. Bend your elbows slightly. What I like to do is slightly bend forward and try to maintain the elbows in line with the shoulder joint.
