After trying many different styles of training, Lily has finally found her place at @12rndprahran. Her own biggest critic, luckily Lil was strong enough to be vulnerable and open about her concerns surrounding her own perceived inabilities with boxing and exercise. For most people, Sunday is a rest day. Resting is important for recovery as it gives your body time to repair and rejuvenate ready for your next session! But do you recover correctly? A big part of recovery is HYDRATION. 1) To help muscles repair - protein synthesis requires hydrated muscles! 2) For digestion - as you refuel, your body needs help to carry those nutrients into your muscles! 3) To reduce fatigue - when you're dehydrated, your heart has to work harder at pumping blood around your body thus casuing major fatigue! If you're already tired from a big week of working out, you don't want to feel the effects of dehydrayion on top of this! Did you know that you can also track your resting heart rate with #myzone?... •••• You can monitor your RHR using the MYZONE system by putting your belt on right away when you wake up in the morning. Stay resting in bed for five to ten minutes once your belt has activated (one beep). Your RHR will automatically record in your profile once you have uploaded the data, and will automatically update if your RHR decreases. We encourage you to check in with your RHR every four to eight weeks, or whenever you are making progressive changes to the volume or intensity of your training. ⚡️⚡️⚡️ You can use RHR to prevent overtraining. If you notice that you are not performing optimally during your workouts or feel that your heart rate is not responding as well as usual, monitor your RHR over the course of the week. If you notice a consistently elevated RHR (more than two mornings in a row at greater than 5 beats per minute higher than usual), you may be overtraining.
