Asian stir fry: this is my go to meal. 2 palm size portions of protein (your choice) 2 fists of veggies (3-4 when not eating carbohydrates) 2 cupped hands carbohydrates (only on Sundays and post workout 2 thumb size portions of fats (3 when not eating carbohydrates) (Men get 2 of each portions, women get 1 portion of each) Franks hot sauce (zero calories low processed) The reasons this works for health and weight loss is: First, hands are portable. They come with you to work lunches, restaurants, social gatherings, etc. Second, hands are scaled to the individual. Bigger people need more food, and tend to have bigger hands, therefore getting larger portions. Smaller people need less food, and tend to have smaller hands, therefore getting smaller portions. Third, it provides reasonable amounts of nutrient dense foods and their specific macronutrients (thus preventing deficiencies). It will help you meet your protein, vegetable, carb, fat, and calorie needs without having to count a gram or weigh a food. If you’re active and eat 4 meals a day.

These dudes crack me up but also have great content. #repost @moveu_official with @get_repost ・・・ 🤷‍♀️Should you foam roll the IT Band⁉️⁉️ I get this question a lot. My typical answer is “try it, see how it feels”. Then the person will respond with, “because research says not to and…”. To which I reply, “then don’t do it”. Guys it’s YOUR body. Play around with it and see how it feels. . . If you are rolling the IT band you are also rolling the surrounding muscles. You cannot isolate just the IT band when foam rolling. You will hit be hitting areas of the quad and hamstring also, depending on the angle. As we show in the video you can start up at the TFL and go down. A few of us feel best just hitting the TFL and glute med while others feel great after rolling the IT band. See what works for you. If you are concerned with the research then read it and make your own decisions! . . “But what about the research?!” Research is great. It gives us hints as to what direction to head and what decisions to make. But research is not the only thing we look at. In an academic setting people dive deep into research. In our setting, where we are keeping it simple for people, we do not quote much research. Research is constantly changing. Study results can be skewed depending on the goal of the research, who is funding it, who is collecting the data, etc. So while it’s great, we do not jump ship immediately with each new study that is published. . . There are some things we know work from all of our combined years in the industry and in our personal experiences. Our number one goal is, and always will be, helping people. Sounding smart, winning academic debates, or arguing insignificant details is just not what we care about. We’ve all been injured, limited, and in a position where we just needed some guidance. Long post... Do yourself some good this year. Commit, plan, execute, and have discipline. I’ve never completely been healthy. EVER, not even now (working on it). I’ve put my body through its paces. Fast foods, sugary drinks and foods, beer and alcohol. Inactive most of my life (until I was 20, then not really committed till I was a trainer 25/26).
