Wow! It's been a busy month! Graduations: both high school & college. CCFC and @bull_power_official interview via @rainieravenueradio.world on the Fitness Corner. Multiple meetings in preparation and planning for building the business with various classes at #columbiacityfitnessjackson thru new relationships with @ReignCityAthleticsBoxing and others to be solidified. These types of punches are important because they can be used to prepare for the main attack in a fight but can also be used to measure proper distance from an opponent. * * There are two types of straight punches, a straight punch using your lead arm (the Jab) and a straight punch using your rear arm (the Cross). Today, we’re going to talk about the Jab! * * 🥊 Start in your boxing stance (you should have no problem getting into this these days!!) 🥊 Shift your weight from your rear leg to your lead leg. 🥊 Rotate your body towards the rear side while extending your lead arm straight out (your knuckles should be up and your closed palm facing the floor). 🥊 After hitting the target, retract the arm quickly along the same path it was delivered. * * ✅ Torso rotates while punching ✅ Chin is kept down and protected 🚫 Head and/or torso is leaning forward, backward or sideways 🚫 Fists not rotated correctly 🚫 Slow retraction of your hand back to the base position * * Have questions or need guidance ??
