🥊 Boxing Tip🥊. I’ve done a video on this in the past if you flick down a couple posts. For fundamental boxing footwork, when you leave the ground, push with the ball of the foot. When you land on the ground, reach out with the ball of the foot. So when you hear us say, “be on the toes” or “use the balls of your feet” we tend to see a lot of people standing on their tippy toes, and trying to walk on their tippy toes. So back to the above quote ☝🏽☝🏽don’t be on them the whole time, just use them for movement all the time. *The reason we don’t use the heels so much? There’s more muscle in the balls of the feet so the heels don’t offer as much control, Balance, or explosive Power, speed. Leaning in Feint... being a short bastard meant over the years, irrespective of discipline, that I had to find my own way to create or fake the distance between me and my opponent. To stand at proper distance meant to be right in range for a haymaker of any kind and to lean in meant that distance was false for the opponent and I could have a slight angle advantage through trickery - I could lean or duck under and towards or lean back and double my distance especially with a shuffle backward. It also helps you to shorten the distance to get in close and punch like mad. But if you have no head movement you are stuffed. #boxing #boxinglife #boxingtips #boxingstance #boxingtraining

Working on the heavy bag @ufcgymchinook .When you’re throwing punches on the bag the goal shouldn’t be that you’re trying to hit as hard as you can. Work on the things in between your punches. Moving your head after you throw a combo or, or stepping off line and weaving. You should also make it a point to end your combos with your left hand so you can stay behind your shoulder and stay protected from counters. - - - Check out my YouTube channel! Joe taught me this one last week. Since I’m a southie, just wanted to share. Step towards but around them and step forward with the rear leg, in front of their front foot. This prevents them from turning for a hook. Punch and aim for the cheek bone but keep pressing around them, forcing them to chase you around in an anti clockwise position. #boxingtips #boxinglife #southpawtips #southpaw #boxingtraining

By extending your arm you may stop (secure your spot) an opponent from stepping to you just as you would do with your teep kick. . Defensively as your opponent steps to you, take a step back as you extend your arm to ensure space between you and your opponent. In this position you are ready to block some of the attack. . In another scenario in which you are the person throwing a boxing combination; you can post up between punches to offset the timing of your attack.
