Last night was ROUGH.. 😬 I made sure to do eeeverything in my power to arrange for a perfectly Bright day - and I am ecstatic to report I was able to keep my shit together 😆! (#frigginmiracle). . So here’s the story: (be aware it is not thrilling nor glamorous, I’d simply like to share a “day in the life” - especially when things didn’t flow as easily as other days). . Not working for almost a month (while having 2 vacations planned in the spring) caused me to start donating plasma again for the $ dinero. . I REALLY didn’t wanna go, especially after squeezing a quick grocery run in (ded👏🏽i👏🏽ca👏🏽tion).. but I did it anyway! And I had a super fun chat with one of my fav workers there, which made the trip totally worth it! (#celebrateeverything!). . Anywho, I knew donating would deplete me of the energy needed to cook taco meat for dinner so I planned ahead by eating my 🍌 from lunch right after I donated. This is technically not BLE protocol since we do not snack, but it’s my life and I decided in this instance, it was in my best interest to bend the rule. . Back to the taco meat - it was just about done, and I was so excited to finally get to dinner when I suddenly felt like passing out. I calmly informed @savrb I needed to sit and I walked my tired ass to the recliner in a daze, seeing stars. . This put me in a TERRIBLE mood, I mean worse than hangry if such a thing exists... Luckily my bestest gal pal + BLE compadre @savrb took my kitchen over, I got to eat, and no one was harmed (too much) in the process. Although apologies to my bf @yooove_got_red_on_you were required (sorry again babe 😉). . At the end of the day, sometimes sweet, sweet victory isn’t so sweet. Sometimes it’s simply accepting my body’s limitations, thanking a friend, and getting to bed ASAP to recalibrate for the next day. . The hard work may not be glamorous NOW.. but it feels damn good to sticking to what I said I’d do. #integrity 💪🏽 It’s also makes me feel powerful to truly know and believe I always have a choice. I love the way @juje.brightlineeating tracks her weekly weigh-ins and decided to finally put my letter board to good use! • (Fair warning this post may be a long one...) . One thing that I’ve learned from making this account is that it’s a place to be more vulnerable than I typically would be on my personal account. Surprisingly it has sparked conversations with friends (which was somewhat nerve racking at first) because they began to notice that I was eating differently and I would point them to this account. One thing that I am very grateful for with this account, aside from the accountability aspect, is that I’ve been able to be surrounded by a supporting community embarking on the same journey! After learning about this account and my new lifestyle change, my friends have been just as supportive and I could not be more grateful. Anyways, this last week has been pretty hectic with adjusting to new schedules and getting back into routines especially coming off of break from the holidays. I was kind of nervous that I may not have lost weight this week, because of the hectic-ness going on and my lack of planning my meals the night before. Prior to starting this plan, I would have just thrown caution to the wind and eat whatever or grab take out because I thought I wouldn’t have enough time to cook with my schedule. However, this last week I still stuck to the plan and kept my lines bright despite minor bumps along the way! I’m happy that I have been able to navigate these tiny hurdles and I’ve been able to prove to myself that I can do this and it’s not just some temporary puss that will surpass eventually. I have to remind myself that I’m not doing this for anyone else but me and my health. I’m still reading the Bright Line Eating book and learning more about the program, but I’m excited to continue on this journey and learn new skills along the way. This page is all about my recovery from binge-eating and binge-drinking but I will say this about exercise. There is always time. It’s up to us to make it a priority. On Tuesday’s I take my daughter to sparks from 6:30-7:30 pm. While she’s there I go for a run. I usually do a 5 km loop or I head to my favourite hill and do repeats. I could use that time to go grocery shopping or get my nails done or catch up on IG on my phone but I know that if I want to make fitness a priority then I have to take advantage of these opportunities. Sure it’s cold AF and dark AF but when I crank up my tunes and get into a good rhythm I’m always happy to be out for a run. Same Deadlines, new habits! Pic of coffee cup clutter on my desk was from 3 months ago, now I still have beverage clutter on my desk but it’s water, seltzer and tea. I also used to drink a TON of Diet Pepsi when working on deadlines (which is pretty much most of the time) #brightlineeating has changed my habits for the better!

Here's a tip! When you have little bits of food leftover after you've cooked a big batch, save it in a lunch sack. Weigh the food first and then use a Sharpie marker and write the weight on the bag. That way, when you're putting together a meal, you know exactly what's in the baggie -weighed already! Case-in-point, tonight I'll be using up a baggie of 8oz. steamed cauliflower and I will just add 2 oz. of some raw veggie to my meal. (I eat 10 oz. of veggies at both lunch & dinner.) I keep these marked baggies on my fridge door area, so they are in plain view and I don't forget to use them. If I put them in a plastic leftover-container, and put them on a fridge shelf, they often don't get used, and I HATE wasting food, so this eliminates that!😉 Hope that helps you! So I splurged and bought something new and BLE friendly (I researched coconut/fat on BLE website). Before BLE, I’d routinely make my own flour or corn tortillas for veggie tacos, sopes, huaraches, etc. Long gone are those days. Enter: #organic coconut wraps. They’re #raw #vegan #paleo #glutenfree #grainfree #nongmo and have only 3 ingredients. 🥥 #nucowraps I used them like I would a corn tortilla for my veggie tacos for dinner. I counted them as a fat (coconut meat). Have any of you tried these? They weren’t bad once they absorbed some of my lime juice and became more pliable. 😋 Second pic is breakfast. Here's the recipe for what I call "Twisted Carbonara". . ⭐⭐Recipe⭐⭐ 10 oz. total combination of the following: zuchini zoodles, coleslaw mix, chopped red or orange pepper, and chopped raw asparagus. You can use any veggies...this is just what I like. Cook together in a pan, stirring frequently. Add 3 oz. cut Beef Kielbasa, and seasonings to taste. I use garlic powder, Salt-Free Spike, dehydrated onions, and EBTB seasoning. Line a collendar with several layers of paper towels. Pour mixture in. Fold over and push! Squeeze as much moisture out as you can. Return mixture to pan. Add 1 whole egg (mix it up) and 1 oz. grated parmesean cheese. Stir. Serve. Delicious!! . #brightlineeating #brightlinebites

Breakfast repeat, repeat, repeat!! ❤❤❤ . . #brightlineeating #brightlinebites

Lets talk acne. More specifically, adult inflammatory acne. The first picture of me is from July 2018; I had been suffering from painful breakouts for about 3 months. Before that, I had been blessed with great skin, even through puberty. But I turned 30 & bam ACNE. Apparently it's a thing in my family. 🤷‍♀️ I had tried everything over the counter I could think of but it was just getting worse. As a yoga teacher, I had to walk into all of my classes bare faced and acne flaring! Totally embarrassing, but such is life. I finally broke down & went to see a Dermatologist who put me on a heafty dose of Spironolactone and Minocycline (he called it the dream team of acne meds). The bottom left picture is from Sept. 2018, 3 months after starting the meds. It really didn't do much, acne was still full force, the only difference was that the break outs weren't quite as painful. I didn't see a reason to continue a medication if it wasn't solving the main problem, my breakouts. So back to square one. At this point, the only thing left to do was accept my fate as someone with adult acne. 😑 . . Fast forward to today (big picture no makeup), my skin is better than ever. Can we say #wcw! I LOVE my skin without makeup. Even the bags under my eyes are gone & my skintone is way more even. Yes I get the routine "period zit" but other than that my skin glows & it has never been healthier. My secret? . . I STOPPED EATING SUGAR. . . . Thats it. That's all it took. Along with my loss of 30lbs since October, my skin is radiant! I won't be that person who tells anyone what to put in their body, its totally personal. I will say this: Sugar is poison to MY body & to MY brain. I also don't eat any "fake" sugar (stevia, etc), "healthy sugars" (honey, etc) or drink alcohol (yup #sober) 😯. I do eat fruit, daily, which my body has no problem digesting. Who knew? I now use a very light face wash & never leave the house without applying moisturizer with sunscreen 🌞. Anyways, if you're struggling, I feel you! If you're at your wits end, I UNDERSTAND! Crockpot), and cook some veggies on the stove or add them to the slow cooker for the last hour or two. Add boullion or stock and spices, as desired. I felt the need to be a little indulgent this morning. I have been on the brink of breaking my lines. It feels unsettling. I feel my old habits circling my brain and I just keep trying to put one foot in front of the other. I also had a touch of insomnia last night and i did break the no snacking line by having 1oz of cheese at 1am. This morning I decided to have plain Greek yogurt but since the container is only 4.4oz, I knew this was only about half of the yogurt protein portion of 8oz so I mixed a little marscapone cheese with it to cut the tartness and give me some more protein. Then I microwaved my 6oz of fresh blueberries for under a minute and mushed them slightly so they would burst and deepen in color to mix with my yogurt (I have peace with warming and slightly mashing my fruit but you do what brings you peace). This is not a breakfast I will have often, in fact, I will make sure that I don’t repeat it for a month or longer. Marscapone Cheese is one of those gray areas and SPT says not to have it often so that is what I am doing. I paired that bowl with Hashbrowns to complete my breakfast. Holding on to every food choice I make in the right direction. Ok, I have to admit something. I fell off the wagon this weekend with all the snow we had and the two days off. But instead of being down and whiny about it, I’m focusing my energy on picking up the pace and restarting today with day 1 of #brightlineeating. I felt broken. . I felt like I could never trust myself around food. . And that it was MY fault. . And that “this was my life.” . And frankly, that I was going to have to put up with the purgatory of food obsession to “maintain my body.” Because, honestly, my worst fear was gaining weight. . Is this you too? . Do you constantly think about clean eating, calories and food rules? . Are you TERRIFIED to gain weight? . Do you feel broken? . I understand. I feel you. I have BEEN exactly where you are. . Achieving food freedom has given me more than I even realized it could. . The ripple effect has been insane. . Since I’ve achieved food freedom I have: 🍑Fallen in love (most days) with a body that is 20 pounds heavier than the one I hated. 🏋🏻‍♀️Learned to respect myself with exercise more, no more “no pain no gain” mentality 👯‍♀️Have become a better friend and listener. 👨‍👩‍👦‍👦Improved my family relationships. 🙅🏻‍♀️Learned how to say no when I know I needed to. 👣Learned (okay fine still learning 🤪) how to confidently set boundaries and ask for what I need. 🥰Become more authentic in romantic relationships and increased my confidence in communicating my feelings (without feeling like a crazy person) 🧐Become CURIOUS with my emotions and learned how to process them rather than judge myself for feeling and numb or push them down. . This list could go on. I’m still a work in progress but I had to share, because this work I do, teaching women to achieve food freedom... . Is so much bigger than food. . In fact, my mission is to empower women to be unapologetically themselves, confidently tap into their intuition and TRUST THEMSELVES, not just around food...but in every aspect of their lives. . Man, even writing that makes me emotional. . It’s so goddamn powerful and it MUST be shared. . The world needs the most empowered version of YOU!
