Yesterday's bench session felt like absolute crap, however still made progress! Hit two top sets @ 110kg for 2 and 1 reps. Today's deadlift session was much better! Hit two top sets @ 200kg for 9 and 6 reps. Followed up with paused deads @ 160kg for 3 sets of 8 reps. @cbjthehealthclub @forgewestend

Here is part 3 of 3 for my beg/int flow series ⭐ The focus was to transition from the hands and knees (quadruped) to plank variations ⭐ These exercises build strength in the shoulder girdle and deep core stabilizers to prep for handstand work! There are so so many versions of Short Spine! I find that every studio and every Pilates education program teaches it a slightly different way! And that’s so great. I like these main tips: * *Press through the feet to keep tension in the straps and engage the Glutes and hamstrings. *Keep the carriage as still as you can as the spine rolls up and down by moving from the core. *Bring the carriage in as far as can keep tension on the straps. *Articulate the spine up and down one vertebrae at a time, creating length and space between each vertebrae. *Most importantly - ENJOY it!! * * * Can’t make it to the studio? Last week I had my Clinical Pilates reprogramming session with my expert physio @revive_ashgrove . It was a fantastic opportunity to check in with an ultrasound of my pelvic floor activity. My baby has been sitting head down low for about 4 months so that’s a lot of weight that’s bearing down on my pelvic floor! So important for me to keep my pelvic floor strong so that I don’t have issues with incontinence and prolapse later. Pilates has been an absolute saviour during my pregnancy. Keeping me active whilst reducing symptoms related to pregnancy like back pain and fluid retention. Here is a snippet of my new program that will see me through to my Due date.
