Today is almost all wrapped up! I still have a little under 2000 steps to get but I can do it 💪🏼 And as for food, I don’t follow a particular style/diet 🤷🏻‍♀️ I really just focus on calories in and calories out. I do find that certain things upset my stomach though (like buns) so today I opted for a bun-less veggie burger 🍔 so good! 🤤

It's been weird trying to figure out what to post since weight loss isn't my goal for the new few months. It's perfectly reflective of how my mind and body have been bouncing around that idea for so long it's hard to know where to channel my energy when it's not always on my mind. . But I've made progress in so many other exciting ways! I have increased my calories from 1300 to around 2300 (my theoretical maintenance cals or TDEE) with minimal weight gain. I can literally feel my metabolism working more efficiently because I am more aware of hunger and have way more energy. . I definitely feel like lifting restrictions and actually eating the amount I'm supposed to to sustain my body at this size is freeing. For the first time in a while, I feel like I'm reaching my full metabolic potential and that's a really cool feeling! . Calorie in VS. Calories Out? Is this the ONLY way to achieve a more lean physique? I used to think so! I’m not saying the strategy isn’t effective, burn more cals than you consume and you will lose weight, simple enough and it’s definitely worked for me in the past. I would ask two questions though 1) what is your motivation or goal? Weight loss, Improved health & longevity or both? 2) Do you truly believe all calories are created equal? If your goal is strictly rapid weight loss for an event, like ya need to do some wedding shedding, then go ahead and deploy the cals in/cals out method, it’ll most likely work just fine. However if you’re also concerned with your health and not just your weight think about this: Let’s say I burn 2200 calories a day and only consume 1700 calories a day, I’m in a 500 calorie per day deficit and will eventually lose weight. However I think we can all agree I would be in a much healthier position if I made up those 1700 calories with fresh produce, nutrient rich whole foods and healthy fats rather than 1700 calories of bread, peanut butter and cookies. My point here is that not all calories are created equal. If you want the ability to improve your health, drastically & significantly decrease your risk of metabolic syndrome, autoimmune and chronic diseases such as cancer, type 2 diabetes, heart disease, etc. WHAT you eat is far more important than HOW MUCH you eat. That’s what these pictures are meant to illustrate, i consumed more healthy wholesome calories than ever before AND lost weight by incinerating some stubborn fat in the process. It takes preparation and some discipline for sure, but MY motivation is healthy living and getting as many quality years as possible to spend with my future wife @lyns778 and kids! Just be open minded, do some research, ask questions and then most importantly, take action and responsibility for YOUR health and YOUR life. Don’t hate on other people’s approach to health and fitness, learn from all of it and apply whatever works for you! . Do you train for performance or aesthetics? ▫️ . I used to train for performance. I thrived off hitting 1RM's and feeling my absolute strongest. I focused on the big 3 (squat, bench, deadlift) and nothing felt better than hitting a PR. ▫️ . When I injured my back and was forced to take it easy I stopped training like this. I literally couldn't back squat, bench or deadlift without pain for a good year. Ever since then I was afraid to push it. I did all I could to protect my low back. ▫️ . After years I'm just starting to push myself in those movements again. I don't train for 1-3RM anymore. I train solely to feel strong, amazing, and energized. I train with exercises that help me - not hurt me. ▫️ . So I guess I train more for aesthetics now. Of course I love being strong but I'm very conscious about injury now haha! ▫️ . Train for the body YOU want! Both ways of training are great and you can definitely still get super strong and train for aesthetics. ▫️ .
