I run like crazy May-Oct and had to change the fitness game up a little 18 months ago. My daily intake was crazy with supplements and meals all threw out the day and get nothing in return. surround yourself with those who lift you up, not only when you need it the most, but every damn day 🔥 . worked out in the middle of the streets of #indy this morning with 20k sweat enthusiasts, one of them being my girl @brie_breezer who has been there with me, and by me, from the beginning 🦄 . it’s moments like these, drenched in sweat and sore AF from my fav workout trainers, that i realize everything i have accomplished in the past and how effing hard i worked to achieve it. so, why did i let myself go? . it didn’t really hit me until this weekend. i let the stress of life hit me like a brick and i started emotionally eating to get rid of the pain and stress. i was losing myself bit by bit. i was ashamed that i gained weight, yet i found every excuse to not fight to get my shit back together . until now. there is a fire under my thick fine ass. i didn’t work my ass off to loose 120 pounds only to gain half of it back. i have officially made a pact with myself that i will focus on my nutrition, give 110% in all of my workouts and find my love for distance running again . if you’ve ever felt like life just keeps throwing you into the gauntlet, you’re not alone. we are strong and we will push through this. we’ve got to stick together through both the good and the bad. will you make a pact with me and find your inner warrior?

So my hubby gifted me this Fitbit a few years back when I really got into fitness. And back then I was so excited to be using it. Felt like a new generation fitness-obsessed person. But then you read and grow, questioning all information that is thrown at you. Is it marketing tactics or is it factual?! Coz let's admit it, health and fitness is a multi-billion industry and most of what you hear and see are of companies with big marketing budgets to brainwash their audience into buying their products. . . . So, you ask why I stopped using it?! First, the biggest flaw I noticed with this device was that if I jerked my hand without actually taking a step (i was working in Retail and had a lot of packaging to pack and unpack) it would count as a step!! . ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 2nd, I no longer believe in calories in and calories out. Weight lifting might not burn so many calories on the device, but my body muscles need a good amount of food to repair and replenish itself. . ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 3rd, 10K steps doesnt mean you are fit or leading a healthy life. That lifestyle lies beyond just a number on a watch. But you could argue, it's a good starting point! Well, you dont need to invest in such watches for that. Want a good starting point, just go on a 20 min walk. . ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 4th, you don't need a watch to gauge your heart rate!! Im sure anyone and everyone can tell when they are reaching their max. Go beyond what your body is capable of just coz you want to reach a certain HR, you are very likely to injure yourself or even give up exercising, coz the experience wasn't pleasant. You don't need to always workout at your max HR to shed weight. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ . . . . A healthy lifestyle comes from within. You need to feel it in your body and soul. All this device did was only add unwanted stress in my life, restricting fitness to just numbers that I needed to achieve. If you want to buy it coz it looks cool, by all means go ahead. But trust me when I say you can start with a healthy life without the help of such devices.

Well here we are! 2 years to the day since I started my weight loss journey with @beachbody It has been everything BUT easy! I don’t know how many times I “started over” or gained weight back, struggled with my eating habits (ongoing issue), or slipped back into my self destructive behaviour. It happens too often but this time I have gotten up stronger than ever and continued to fight for what I love and deserve; a happy, healthy ME! This journey has taught me so much discipline, how to love myself again and be confident and comfortable in my own skin. I was hoping I would hit my weight loss goal on the scale by today, but did not. I did, however, hit a personal goal. I love myself today more than I ever have, and am so proud of who I am becoming! I will continue this journey the rest of my life and will continue to feel the best I have ever felt! Huge shout out to my tribe ( @princess_maryjane420 , @fitwithmir ) and so many others, my supporters and my family for ongoing love and support even when I get discouraged, I have so much love from you all! If I can inspire just one person today, that’s my goal! And you have to do what's best for you! - And if you can't be inspired and motivated to do it for yourself then do it for others like your kids, your parents, your health, for the ones you love. That's what I do especially on days I don't wanna show up for myself. I show up for my kids because they deserve an awesome happy mom! - I also love showing up here for you! I know how hard life can be, how anxiety, depression, lack of self confidence can be and how it brings you down and you feel stuck! But I'm here to show you that you can overcome all that mess. A quickie but a goodie! True or false: I fell off filming this? Answer at the bottom, you must read first. A great way to utilize the stair master! Play around on it (safely haha). I typically keep my level between 8 + 11 for 15 to 20 minutes. But if you’re making the stair master your “main” exercise stay on for 45 min.
