When I first started my health and fitness journey, I swore up and down that I would NOT get up earlier than I already had to because I am NOT a morning person. Anyone else rather sleep an extra 30 minutes?! 🙋🏻‍♀️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I laughed at the fact that a shake might give me energy and heal my body from the inside out. Plus, I like to chew my food. Duh! Have you ever said that one?! 🙋🏻‍♀️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I told myself that since I couldn’t lift heavy, I wasn’t going to lift weights at all. Plus I didn’t want to get manly. 🙄 #cardioqueen up in here! 😂 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I can’t build an online business... I know NOTHING about business. I don’t wanna be salesy and I just don’t have time. I am WAY TOO busy. Have you ever used that line? “I just don’t have time. I am so busy.” Yup... ME TOO, girl! 🙋🏻‍♀️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ All of these excuses were from my lack of BELIEF in myself... I constantly said “I can’t do this...” and therefore I wouldn’t. But when we reframe it to ask “How can I?” our brains automatically LOOK for a solution. 🤯 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you believe you can or if you believe you can’t, you are 100% right. Stop shutting yourself down before you even get started.

When I came travelling I continued weight lifting where possible but I still gained a lot of body fat from a VERY indulgent 6 months. The photo on the left kills me because I was so UNHEALTHY and not treating my body well! Its not all about looks either it’s about how you feel and I felt sluggish, uncomfortable&constantly bloated as you can see! I had no energy and my mental health wasn’t in a great place 😣 ⠀⠀ I’ve recently begun focusing on movement, flexibility and FUN alongside weight lifting and a healthier balanced diet 💗🕺🏼 I am also very blessed to have a room mate who happens to be a brilliant nutritionist and an inspiring personal trainer who has shared so much knowledge with me!! Cardio was something I always hated but I realised it can be creative! You don’t need to slog away on a treadmill if it that’s not for you. I’ve taken up muay thai , flexibility & stretch classes, salsa, pole fit, hiking, bike riding etc. Even just getting out walking, getting some good ol aussie sunshine with the odd sprint added in 💦 Getting my body moving again making fitness time play time has improved my mental health, helped me view cardio more positively with the added bonus of losing some body fat, having fun and feeling energised again 🕺🏼

⁣ 💥 400 flights on the #stairclimber in 45 minutes 💥⁣ ⁣ I skipped the gym 3 days in a row and I'm paying the price now. I wanted to quit at 30 minutes but my husband encouraged me to push for 45 minutes instead so that's where I called it quits and I was dyiiiing 🧗🥵⁣ ⁣ When I was in the locker room taking my usual post workout picture a girl who was on her way out stopped to tell me to "keep killin' it" and that was totally unexpected. 30 minutes in my basement.⁣ ⁣ Some days it’s weights.⁣ Other days it’s cardio.⁣ Sometimes it’s a mix of both or even Pilates or yoga.⁣ It’s whatever I want it to be.⁣ ⁣ I started when I was 35 pounds heavier- in my dorm room.⁣ ⁣ I took over my parent’s basement and would push play on my clunky laptop after a full-day of student teaching.⁣ ⁣ I created my little corner in our new house with a rug, a beat-up end table and a clearance floor lamp.⁣ ⁣ I’ve brought my tennis shoes and iPad to every hotel, cabin and Airbnb I’ve stayed at over the last 5 years- working out in the ice machine room at hotels, the space in front of elevators, outside in the parking lot and in convention rooms.⁣ ⁣ My point?⁣ It doesn’t have to be pretty for it to WORK.⁣ Use what you have and freakin’ crush it 🔥⁣ ⁣ #transformationtuesday⁣ #justmove⁣ #savedbyfitnessandgrace

WHY HIGH ACHIEVERS PROCRASTINATE Gosh, it used to be so hard for me. I should have been called the procrastination queen.👸 There was this time I sat down to do something I knew I needed to do...👩‍💻 I thought, “Ugh, I don’t feel like doing this. I’ll just check my email instead😏… because that’s important too.” Then I just remembered I needed to call my mom back.💡 After I got off the phone with my mom (which could have been hours later 😉), I remembered what I was supposed to be working on. Yep cool, but first... a quick game of Candy Crush. Then I’ll get to it... Let me just scroll instagram or Facebook really quick… ⌛️⏳⌛️⏳ And then I look at the clock shocked 😱at how much time I had wasted 🤦‍♀️ Sound familiar? Why is it that we procrastinate things we know we need to do?🤔 ✨I HAVE AN ANSWER, and I also know a trick to help you OVERCOME PROCRASTINATION. 💡You see, WE LIKE TO BE IN CONTROL. We don’t like doing things we feel we’re forced to do. 💡When you have a task to work on that NEEDS to be done, you feel forced to do it. ✨Here’s what you should do: ⏺Give yourself options. Think about different scenarios for the future. Make sure they’re contradictory. ⏺For example, if you do the task you’re dreading, what’s the outcome? You’ll likely be so happy that it’s complete. You’ll feel like a weight is lifted off your shoulders. You’ll feel accomplished. At ease. ⏺The other option is you don’t do the task you’re dreading doing. You sit around and look for other things to occupy your time. Then what? How do you feel with the outcome? Probably unaccomplished. Guilty. Upset with yourself that you’ve wasted more time, once again. And… you still have to, at some point, do the task you’re dreading. ⏺Now that you have two different options and you understand the future you can have from doing each one, you can CHOOSE which option to do. 💡Remember procrastination comes from feeling like we’ve lost control and like we’re forced to do something. Simply change your mindset around it. You can decide what you want to do. Just think about the future outcome that it’ll lead to and make the best decision based off of that.

Transformation Tuesday ⁣ ⁣ While my transformations look different than the majority that you are posted on social it’s still progress.⁣ ⁣ There is always something to improve on. Maybe it’s nutrition,strength, stamina, flexibility, weight or inches or a combo of them all.⁣ ⁣ I have established a healthy lifestyle so that I just keep going program after program. My day 1 and end date never look much different. I’m happy with that because it’s called a lifestyle. Deadlifts will always be my favourite lift! Now that’s I’m getting further along in my pregnancy I am still deadlifting but I am decreasing the load. Mentally it is tough since I worked so hard to get to my PR and don’t want to lose the strength I gained. Carrying my child (especially two at once), lifting strollers in and out of the car, bringing groceries inside in one trip, cleaning up after 3 tornado boys, carrying laundry baskets around the house, working on my acerage, and taking my boys for a bike ride and then they all end up too tired to ride home so I end up carrying 2 bikes and pulling 3 children up a big gravel hill in a wagon so we can get home...😅. If I didnt strength train I probably couldn't do all that. I would also be calling my husband alot more to rescue us on the side of the road after a bike trip...🚴‍♂️🤷‍♀️. • • • So YES moms should strength train! 🏋️‍♀️💪 **A womens body changes significantly during pregnancy and postpartum so if you are wanting to return to the exercise please go see a womens health physio and work with a fitneas professional who has been educated in this specific area! It's been a long time since I've had the gym all to myself! And I forgot how nasty carb sweat is, but I think I achieved my goal of ass kicking my workout today, also whopping ass in the swimming pool & done an extra couple hours of walking the fur babies!! Finished off with an extra keto friendly chilli pork mince & roasted veg & my new favourite, Salted Caramel Green Tea!! I love cooking, and honestly I look forward to making supper every night. Mainly because my husband loves the different meals and it's not the same old chicken, rice & veggies. I've never eaten or prepared flank steak before and this weekend was my first time trying it. I flankin' love it! 😜 seriously so delicious, very cheap and full of so much flavour in fact we had it both Friday and Saturday! The other meal I made was a chicken fajita rice bowl, which were having tonight again. We were so close to ordering pizza, but I made the executive decision that we were going to end the weekend on a healthy note.
