One of the hardest things about making prayer a daily habit is motivation. Whether it’s early in the morning, during lunch break, or before bed - we can come up with a dozen reasons or excuses or other things we need to do. And, the motivation simply isn’t there to pray.⠀ .⠀ Lately, I’ve tried to think of the act of praying like a signup sheet for Adoration. You never want an empty time slot. You never want Christ to be alone in the chapel.⠀ .⠀ Maybe it’s early in the morning, maybe it’s late at night, but ask when is our time? When is it our duty to get up and spend time with Christ, petitioning for our loved ones?⠀ .⠀ If your family is still sleeping, be the one who is up early praying on their behalf. If it’s during your lunch, remember that your wife is home with the kids and the house is probably not a silent oasis for prayer.⠀ .⠀ Find those moments. Spend time with Christ. Remember those who aren’t or can’t pray for themselves.

A little card that helps defend against Sola Scripture. The Church is constantly attacked by those who claim everything is in the Bible and private interpretation is authoritative. Take time to know these passages. Please remember that most will not listen and will try to upset you. "Do not look forward in fear to the changes of life; Rather look to them with full hope that as they arise, God, whose very own you are, will lead you safely through all things; And when you cannot stand it, God will carry you in His arms. Do not fear what may happen tomorrow; The same everlasting Father who cares for you today will take care of you today and every day. He will either shield you from suffering or will give you unfailing strength to bear it. Be at peace and put aside all anxious thoughts and imaginations." St. Francis de Sales I've been worrying about my future a lot lately, so when I found this quote by St. Francis de Sales I was amazed and so relieved. I wanted to share it with you all, hoping to help someone out. ❤️🙏🏻 God will walk with you no matter what you're going through, and when it's necessary He will carry you.

Have you ever experienced laying down in bed and thinking - “I have no idea how to fall asleep.” It’s something that we’ve done thousands of times, but every now and then, it’s like we forget how to. (Or, at least I do.)⠀ .⠀ There’s something similar that happens at Mass. Despite being raised Catholic, I sometimes have that moment in Mass where I think - what’s happening, why’s that happening, what’s that mean?⠀ .⠀ Well, I wanted to share a quote from Fulton Sheen that for me is a refreshing take on the Mass and our part. In Calvary and the Mass, he offers us these thoughts as to what we should be praying at the moment of consecration:⠀ .⠀ “I give myself to God. Here is my body. Take it. Here is my blood. Take it. Here is my soul, my will, my energy, my strength, my property, my wealth - all that I have. It is Yours. Take it! Consecrate it! Offer it! Offer it with yourself to the Heavenly Father in order that He, looking down on this great sacrifice, may see only You, His beloved Son, in whom He is well pleased. Transmute the poor bread of my life in Your divine life; thrill the wine of my wasted life into Your divine Spirit; unite my broken heart with Your Heart; change my cross into a crucifix. Let not my abandonment and my sorrow and my bereavement go to waste. Gather up the fragments, and as the drop of water is absorbed by the wine at the Offertory of the Mass, let my life be absorbed into Yours; let my little cross be entwined with Your great Cross so that I may purchase the joys of everlasting happiness in union with You.”

Sometimes, if not a lot of times, what’s good for us and what we want are at odds.⠀ .⠀ We know that eating right and exercising is good for us, but lounging on the couch, popping chips is enticing.⠀ .⠀ We know that hard work is noble and helps many people, but we find ourselves watching YouTube all day.⠀ .⠀ We know that prayer is good for us, but in the moment, we want to sleep in for another 10 minutes.⠀ .⠀ If we want to grow in our faith, become better men, husbands, fathers - we have to recognize the good in our lives. And, (very important), we must cultivate the habit of acting on the good.⠀ .⠀ Doing it once isn’t enough - it must be habitual. And, that’s Virtue. So today, let’s ask ourselves - where’s the good?

When I feel *stuck* I return to my favorite words from my pal, Karol Wojtyla. He had a special place in his heart for dreamers and his smile radiates Christ’s love. It was such a joy capturing this very smile in my artwork. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ To those who may not understand the place of saintly intercession in the #catholicchurch: I imagine John Paul II sitting beside Jesus in heaven explaining what’s going on in my heart—what Christ knows already of course—and cheering me on with a foam finger or something 😂 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I don’t know about you, but I can always use more Catholic friends...especially ones who support my dreamer life like JPII does each day. I think it's extremely important to get to know our enemy, in order to defeat it completely. It used to be so so hard for me to overcome temptation, I didn't know what to do anymore. In the end, I decided to pray more and to understand better what temptation really is. It has helped me a lot especially in my daily life, and I've been feeling so much better now that I know that there's nothing to be afraid of. Personally I don't know many exorcists because it's only been so long since I've started to inform myself on this matter, but I can recommend to you to check out Father Amorth and Father Candido, his mentor. Father Amorth wrote many books worth reading and he talks about a lot of interesting topics, he of course has a lot of experience in exorcism too, so who can tell us better the tricks of the devil but him? There are also many interviews with fr. Amorth uploaded online, and a Netflix documentary. Some of the things he said that I was most impressed with: Father Amorth, speech of 2009: "Protestants don't understand a thing about Mary. They think that loving Mary means taking something from Jesus, but in reality it's the complete opposite: the more you love Mary the more you love Jesus, because Mary doesn't keep anything for herself, she gives it all away to God." Father Amorth said, regarding the lack of Christian values in the world (in 2009) "we are called to vote for the approval of divorce and we make it win, if there was a vote for the approval of gay (marriage), I assure you that it would win as well." and regarding this, I think it's necessary to quote him again: "the devil makes sin look like progress" is a phrase that he often told people even during his interviews. God bless you and have a great Sunday. 🙏🏻

I mean, who are we to judge? Saya pikir sih, Paus sadar banget sama kerahiman Tuhan, makanya ia bisa spontan menjawab, "Who am I to judge?" Semoga kita punya kesadaran yang sama. #fun #love #girl #hitsomk #omkvidgram #happy #friends #beautiful #vscocam #art #amazing #katolik #misericordiaevultus #misericordiaesicutpater #pope #popefrancis #omkbali #omkindonesia #popesquote #catholicquote #yearofmercy

"Walk with your feet on earth, but in your heart be in heaven." St. John Bosco. REMEMBER YOUR MISSION: it is extremely important to remember WHY we are on this earth to begin with. The question that everyone wants to find an answer to and the main reason why philosophy started is a simple yet difficult question: why are we alive? Why do we exist and is there a purpose in our life? I think we are really lucky as catholics to have a clear answer to that question. We are here, on this earth, because God wants us in heaven with Him. We are here because God wants to love us and to offer us a life with Him, how beautiful and amazingly comforting is that? That's why I say to remember your mission, because your mission on earth is to get to heaven. There's nothing more important than that. While we do have to try our best to make our current lives better, we shouldn't forget that this is just a temporary life. Remember your mission, remember your journey and remember your destination. Choose the narrow gate on this earth, even when it gets hard and exhausting. And if you happen to fall down just get up again, it's fine and it's human to fall and make mistakes. Pray for souls in purgatory. 🙏🏻

"Do not forget this invisible companion, always present to listen to you; always ready to console you." St. Padre Pio You are never alone, Jesus, Mary, our Saints friends and our Guardian Angel are always with us. God always provides for us, no matter how "bad" of a person we are. Our guardian angel will always stay with us, so talk to him and build a relationship with him. Padre Pio was able to talk to his guardian angel ever since he was little, so he considered him as a childhood friend and stressed on the importance of staying close and making use of the angel that God gave especially to us and nobody else. Prayer: English- Angel of God, you are my guardian, enlighten and guard, to rule and guide me, who have been entrusted by the heavenly goodness. Amen. Latin- Ángele Dei, qui custos es mei, me, tibi commíssum pietáte supérna, illúmina, custódi, rege et gubérna. Amen. Italian- Angelo di Dio, che sei il mio custode, illumina, custodisci, reggi e governa me, che ti fui affidato dalla pietà celeste. Amen.

Wherever Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church. St. Ignatius of Antioch As Catholics we should already know that, so why am I sharing this quote? Personally I've seen many people arguing about which type of mass they attend or about how the Latin mass is the only true and valid mass (of course some people who prefer it are actually really peaceful and calm, I don't want to generalize) but I don't understand why. I really don't, and sometimes I wonder what are we really talking about. Of course Latin mass would be different from NO mass, but does it mean that Jesus isn't present in a NO mass? No, it doesn't. Jesus is still present in the Eucharist and that's what matters the most. In the end, what really makes a difference is the heart of the people who are attending mass. Let's not forget that early Christians did not even have a church in which they could celebrate mass, they did not have gregorian chants and many of the things introduced later in the history of the church. But there is one thing that never changed and never will: the presence of Christ in the Eucharist. His Sacrifice for us will always be there and we will never forget it. Of course Latin mass is great and if we have the possibility to go, then we definitely have to experience it! But at the same time, if you can't help but attend a new mass or if you're simply feeling it more than the Latin mass, there's nothing to be ashamed of. The mass depends on how you react to it. If you just go there as a routine then it will not have any effect on you, but if you go there while being aware that Jesus is physically there, then you WILL without fail be respectful and pray with all of your heart, remembering all of the things that Jesus did for you. You will receive the Eucharist in the tongue, you will bow and kneel before Him with the respect that our savior deserves. You will be there just for Him. I hope no one feels offended by my thoughts, I just wanted to share them with you. God bless you all. ❤️ And please feel free to comment your opinion, whether you agree or not with my thoughts. I would love to hear your take on this matter!

When someone treats us with love, or does something for us out of love, our hearts almost naturally respond with gratitude (or at least they should). Christ through his sacrifice has loved us in ways that we do not fully grasp.⠀ .⠀ More times than not, that almost involuntary ‘feeling’ of love or gratitude is often missing in His presence. But, our faith is not a feeling. It’s taking what we profess to believe and living our lives in accordance with those beliefs.⠀ .⠀ And, that means in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament, we call to mind what we believe, what we know to be true, and we respond accordingly.⠀ .⠀ What should be our response? Praise, Adoration, and Love. But, what if we don’t ‘feel’ it? The truth is that many times we won’t ‘feel it.’ In those moments, what we can control is our wills. We use our intellects - what we know is true - and we submit our wills to that truth. That is faith.⠀ .⠀ May the heart of Jesus, in the Most Blessed Sacrament, be praised, adored, and loved with grateful affection, at every moment, in all the tabernacles of the world, even to the end of time, Amen.

“Faith is to believe what you do not see. The reward of faith is to see what you believe.” St. Augustine Today, as I was listening to a teacher at my school I was kind of sad for him, but I was also thinking that, probably, he isn't that far away from Jesus as he claims to be. He talked about catholicism with us and about the fact that he doesn't believe in it since the death of his mother, because he prayed a lot for her but then she died anyway. As he was talking about this he said "if God doesn't even listen to my prayers then why should I believe in him? I can simply repent my sins in the hour of my death anyway, so I don't need to live a good life." By that I understood that he didn't stop believing in God, but that he is angry at Him because of his mother's death. Living a bad life with the thought of repenting at your death bed isn't right, and that's simply because God knows our true hearts. If it's something premeditated, or something that you don't really feel like doing then it will be of no use. You need to have a pure heart when you repent and you need to do it now, as soon as you feel the presence of God in your life. I know that it's not easy to be a catholic in this world that is full of hatred and temptation, it could seem like a lonely path to take, but have faith into what God has in store for you. He won't let your sacrifice be vain. I have yet to know a person who regretted living a holy life. Giving your life to Jesus means that you will suffer greatly because of temptation and because of other people who won't understand your decision, but at the same time God will give you the strength to go on, and He will provide for you. I feel more peaceful now than I felt when I was trying to be like everyone else was. If anyone needs to talk, remember that my dms are always open ❤️ let's support each other as much as we can. God bless you.

So I recently was flipping through one of those little prayer booklets that you seem to just collect over the years. In this particular booklet toward the back, there’s a quote from John Henry Newman titled “Catholic Loyalty.”⠀ .⠀ It’s an interesting way of putting it: are we loyal to the Catholic Church? If our loyalty has survived the trials of the past 50 years, it is certainly being tested even more so today.⠀ .⠀ If we find our loyalty in question due to doubt, confusion, or scandal, let’s remember that the Catholic Church is not only a human institution. The Church is not just the men and women who are alive today and call themselves Catholic. The Church, the Body of Christ, is also divine And, there are more members in Heaven than on Earth. It is because of their loyalty that the Church has survived. Now, it is our loyalty that will preserve her for generations to come.⠀ .⠀ “Recollect what a hard task she has; how she is sure to be criticized and spoken against whatever she does; recollect how much she needs your loyal tender devotion; recollect, too, how long the experience gained over so many centuries, and what right she has to claim your assent to principles which have had so extended and triumphant a trial. Thank her that she has kept the faith safe for so many generations and do your part in helping her transmit it to generations after you.”⠀ .⠀ Don’t abandon her and let the darkness win.

[Inspired by the latest post by @catholic_millennials] Even the devil believes that God exists. Believing has to change the way we live. -Mother Angelica I have been catholic my whole life, I was born in a catholic family and I have had catholic values and morals present in my life ever since I was born, but even so there was a time when I was lost and as a result I was feeling incredibly away from God. I couldn't believe anymore, I didn't mind sinning because I thought that it was useless to mind about these kind of things. Even so, I've always had doubts. Sometimes I would find myself talking to God and asking for help, then I would just say that I was being stupid, that I had to stop because no one could hear me anyway. One day, I realized what I was doing was wrong. I felt the presence of God, I knew that He wanted me to go back to Him and for the first time of my life I decided on my own to go and search for God as hard as I could. It was my decision, it was something that I couldn't reverse. From that day on everything changed about me. Before I felt like going to mass was boring and I didn't want to, now mass is my favorite part of the week because I realize that I'm going to meet Jesus. Before I never wanted to confess my sins, I would cry when my mom tried to make me go.. Now I find myself crying while I confess my sins to the priest instead. Before I didn't mind sinning, even if I knew I was doing it, now I feel guilty as soon as I sin. It's not possible to go back and I don't want to go back to how it was. God gave me so much joy, hope and love. I was full of anger, now I'm at peace and I have kind words for everyone. I still sin, I make mistakes and I am growing but I know that I'm not alone. Jesus is always with me, and He is with you too. Please, if you're considering to become catholic or if you're a catholic who doesn't take faith seriously, think about this. Being catholic is something that will completely change your life (for the better). It is a long journey, but we can make it together. May God bless you all. ❤️

Do you want to have God always in your mind? Be just as he made you to be. Do not go seeking another you. Do not make yourself otherwise than he made you. Then you will always have God in mind. -Saint Anthony of Padua Sometimes it's hard to see how we really are. I've struggled with this a lot in the past, I couldn't understand myself, I couldn't understand why I changed so much from when I was little. I remember that I used to liked my personality back then: i was kind hearted, I valued prayer and I would converse with Jesus every day because I knew that He was there with me. I was a kind and compassionate child, but then I started to change as I grew aways from God and I didn't like myself anymore at that time. I realized that without God, I change. I become the worst version of myself. With God I'm someone that I can appreciate, and that's who I want to be: the one version of myself that God decided to put on this earth. -Day 1 of the novena to Padre Pio, you can still join if you want to! I am what you would call a perfectionist, I feel like I failed at every little mistake that I make, I never feel like I'm doing enough or being good enough, but I need to let go of this and just try my best. I will try to be strong even when I feel defeated, and I intend to learn how to properly leave my life into God's hands by following His will. "Christ gives His body away so others might live; abortion supporters cling to their own bodies so others might die. In giving His Body, Christ teaches the meaning of love: I sacrifice myself for the good of the other person. Abortion teaches the opposite of love: I sacrifice the other person for the good of myself!" Fr. Frank Pavone I incourage you all to read the rest of it, you can find it online with a simple Google search. ♡ This post was the consequence of me stumbling upon a very questionable YouTube video, that left me wondering if we really got to the point where we need to teach kids about abortion being "a choice". If someone ever told me about it when I was a kid, I would've probably cried thinking about babies being killed, but these kids don't realize what is happening. They don't understand that abortion is murder, they don't understand that millions of babies are killed each year. We aren't teaching our kids empathy, we aren't teaching our kids moral values and we aren't teaching them something as basic as "murder is wrong". This is a tragedy, to me. Infos about the video that I saw; Title of the video: Kids meet someone who's had an abortion. Channel: HiHo kids Some quotes from the video: Kid:"so why did you have an abortion?" Woman: "a few years ago I got pregnant and I just didn't really want to have a baby" kid: "so why did that happen? Was he wearing a condom?" Woman: "no he wasn't wearing a condom" and then she just goes on to explain that she felt like she had two choices at that point and she decided to go for the easy one (unprotected sex). The woman talks about her abortion to multiple kids without really explaining to them what it is in detail, and to a kid who says that he believes in God, she says "I think it's part of God's plan". She is smiling and joking throughout the video, she appears to be proud of her abortion. At the end of the video she says "at the end of the day it's my body, and the idea that a group of old white dudes in the government would tell me it's wrong.." Now, do I condemn this woman or anyone who's had an abortion? No, I don't. Those women are victims too, even if they don't realize it. I pray for them❤️

I recently read about a daily practice by a certain Catholic dad. Every day, he says one Hail Mary for a stranger that he encounters. Why? Because it’s possible that person has never had anyone pray for them. How sad, but probably true. At least some of the time, right?⠀ .⠀ In the 1830s, the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to St. Catherine Laboure in Paris. It was during these apparitions that we receive the image of the Miraculous Medal (you’ve probably seen it before).⠀ .⠀ You’ll notice, as St. Catherine did, that there are rays of light emanating from Mary’s fingers, representing graces she sends out upon the world. Some of her fingers don’t emit any light - because people don’t ask for graces.⠀ .⠀ There are people in need graces and a never ending supply of graces, waiting to be sent upon the world. This is why it is absolutely essential that we make prayer a daily habit. For our own sake, for those we love, and for those who have no one to pray for them.⠀ .⠀ I want to leave you with a little thought experiment.⠀ .⠀ This hypothetical stranger has no one to pray for them. But, how many people out there do you think are praying daily for your wife? For your mother? For your father? For your siblings, friends?⠀ .⠀ Surely there are some folks out there offering prayers, but how many? Daily?⠀ .⠀ If we are not praying daily for those who we love most in this world - who is?

"Those who refuse to be humble cannot be saved." I don't think many of us reflect enough on the virtue that is humbleness, and I say that because I don't see it often even between catholics. I don't know about other people, but I've never felt like I knew 100% that I was right about something. I don't even know if I've ever been right in my whole life. The only thing I know is that God exists and that the Bible is right, while I am not. I make mistakes and sin all the time, but God doesn't. That's why we should try to live according to scriptures a bit more. Please do not focus on spreading hatred towards those who have different opinions, stay calm and ask God to guide you. Instead, we should all focus on welcoming new souls into our faith. There is an awesome catholic community on Instagram, but let's always remember that our mission isn't to be happy about the way we live our life, there should always be penance in our mind and in our hearts. Always ask for forgiveness, even if you don't think you did anything wrong at all. Because God came to teach the sinners, we should learn to hear what He has to say, we shouldn't think that we already know everything. We should always remember that we are sinners, learn to let go of our pride and humble ourselves. May the Grace of God be with you all. 🙏🏻❤️

Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies. Corinthians 6:19-20 So one could take this as a way of saying many different things, personally I think every meaning is valid. Right now I feel like this is saying to me that I don't need to eat healthy only for my personal pleasure in doing it, I don't need to eat healthy simply because I want to lose weight. I need to eat healthy because the body that God gave me was healthy to begin with, and I was the one who made it unhealthy with my poor eating choices and sedentary habits. God didn't plan on giving me an unhealthy and painful body, my choices made it that way. I don't like it and I don't want to be how God didn't intend me to be. I feel like following God's word with my mind and body at the same time will be much more powerful, even regarding my faith life. I will officially begin my journey into getting back my old self, the one I was supposed to be from the beginning and I will try to cleanse my body from everything that's negative and that doesn't nourish my soul the way it should. Please do share what this verse tells you right now, at this very moment. I will be happy to read your opinion. ❤️🙏🏻 God bless you.

Today's saint is filled with so much wisdom. We can do small things to help others feel hopeful especially mothers who see no light in a situation. Something small as in even a prayer for life can make a big impact on a life. St.Gregory, help us to choose truth, beauty, and life!
