💪🏻 Last week I pulled a muscle in my leg.⠀ I’m notorious for pushing too hard and I find it difficult to ease up. Learning how to be gentle and respect the signals my body gives me has proven itself difficult for me & in the past I just gave up and felt guilty and weak and angry at my body for not being 18 anymore. A huge part of this year is about moving past that, changing the voices in my head, and finding what feels good. Feeling better now, so here’s to moving forward and getting in all 3 workouts this week!!! 💥 Alright. Vacation is over. The #roadtripfoodfreedom was fun, tasty, interesting, and there were lots of FIRSTS for me. Food for thought! Just like you, I have seen a lot of suffering because of anxiety and depression. It runs deep in my family, I have several friends that have gone through bouts, and I have had a tinge of anxiety here and there myself. Its not fun. I would never wish it on anyone. We all suffer from time to time, I suppose. But the great thing is that we do have a say in how healthy our guts are! We can actually change our genes by the food we eat! I struggled with postpartum depression after both my girls, and I have been trying to find me again.⠀⠀ —⠀⠀ Three months ago, I went to the doctor for a physical. He called me and told me I had an under-active thyroid and wanted me to go on hormones. 🍵 Matcha Latte. Not gonna lie, it wasn’t my favorite, but I was out of decaf coffee and in need of some antioxidant action. ⠀ One of my superpowers is creating something edible, and usually delicious, from whatever I find around my house. ⠀ This concoction ended up being 1 T matcha, 1 T maca, 1 T avocado oil, 1 t cinnamon, 1 t turmeric powder, and a little fresh-ground black pepper in 12 oz of hot water.
