Siguiendo con las recomendaciones vegan🌱 de antes🧡 Procuro comer legumbres todos los días o por lo menos 4 veces a la semana a la hora del almuerzo y en ocaciones a la cena. El resto de los días consumo carne de soya, champiñones crudos o en salteado de verduras (brocoli, zanahoria, diente de dragon, zapallo italiano, coliflor, etc). Recently my 4 year old daughter has been saying that she is now a vegetarian. I'm not surprised since I'm vegetarian (I occasionally still eat cheese) and her kindergarten teacher is vegan. This was her dinner tonight after turning down her dad's pasta with ground beef sauce. (I'm having vegan chilli - made a little too hot for little miss). Usually I add tomatoes and it's one of her favourite dishes that she cries for but tonight she hates tomatoes. I'm going to sound like I'm bragging and add that she eats fresh kale literally by the handful. This however is the same child that licks windows, tables, people and various other non-food items. I tell myself it's her innate understanding of balance while I secretly try hard to keep from vomiting wondering when this gross childhood phase of hers will end. Something Crunchy! These seasoned chic peas are easy to make, you can walk away and not think about them for awhile. They are what I like to call, a “low and slow” item. Meaning, low heat,slow cooking. Easy-peesy! Savory Crunchy Chic Peas~ 1 cn. Chic peas 2 T. Olive oil 1 T. Chili powder 1 T. California granulated garlic powder (I prefer the toasty flavor for this snack) 1 T. Thyme Himalayan Sea Salt TT. (To your taste) Heat oven to 375. Open and rinse your can of chic peas. Lay on paper towels and let sit for 10 minutes to slightly dry out. On non stick sheet tray lined with parchment paper press out your chic peas to a single layer. Cook for 35 minutes taking time to shake your tray every 10 minutes so they dry out more evenly. In a bowl, mix your olive oil, and your dry seasoning together. Take out the chic peas and toss them w/the marinade. (While they are hot.). Spread out again on your lines sheet tray and bake another 10-15 minutes. Shaking the tray after 7 minutes. At the end of the 10-15 minutes... Your almost done! Check to make sure they are crunchy, if there are some still soft, place back in for another 2-4 minutes. Pull out of oven and let cool completely before snacking. I don’t want any tongues burnt! 😜👩🏻‍🍳 **these can be stored up to 5 days in an air tight container, however, they may get soft.
