Apart from the standard sized angku, I made two gigantic ones as well, each weighing a whooping 200-220g, commissioned for the traditional "#脚踏龟" ceremony for today's birthday boy to "step on. May he be blessed with longevity, prosperity and good fortune... have you observed this ceremony before? 😊 #lifeofakuehslave . . . #travellingfoodies #igsg #sgeats #sgfoodies #sgfoodlover #nyonyakueh #nyonyakuih #kuihmuih #angkukuih #angkukueh #angku #kuehku #kuehkoo #kueku #红龟粿 #紅龜粿 #chinesetraditions #singaporehomecooks #singaporeheritagefood #stfoodtrending

Honoured to have been a part of Cara and Dimitar's traditional Chinese wedding ceremony this morning. Loved experiencing a tea ceremony for the first time, hopefully the first of many to come for me! They got married Hawaii a few weeks ago, and today are celebrating the start of the marriage with friends in Vancouver. Looking forward to their reception tonight! @caraboo_ #happilyeverkalfin

In the Chinese culture, the red-dyed eggs are served at homes and banquets to celebrate a birth of a child and often seen at the baby's one-month/100 day celebration! The eggs represent new beginnings and red is a lucky colour symbolizing luck and prosperity. What are your cultural traditions after a birth of a child or for the baby shower? I'm curious! Swipe right to see other dishes served at my cousin's baby's 100 day celebration in October. This is definitely one of my favourite photos from #china. #zhouzhuang is one of the most famous water towns in the country also known as Venice of the East. This peaceful place really reminded me of the Bulgarian “Etara” because of its cultural background and well preserved ancient houses. It keeps the local traditions and shows people arts and crafts that can’t be seen everywhere. . . . . . . #veniceoftheeast #chinesetraditions #chineseculture #discoverasia #discoverchina #bulgariantraveller #travelgirls #adventurer

“The process of the production of the dress, it is a transfer of life itself. It is a work by the people of the past, they have devoted themselves and their time to the work. The focus and the attention paid to this dress will make it remembered by the world — [what] I want is to make them remember. […] It is my responsibility to let the world know China’s tradition and past, and to give the splendor of China a new expression. I hope that people do know China in this way.” – Guo Pei, interview with @thecut, 2015 … Experience @guopei’s breathtaking designs at the Gallery, including THAT dress worn by @badgalriri at the 2015 #metgala, starting today, October 13, 2018 through January 20, 2019. @jiuwan.milano #lenovescodelle #milano // #sichuan #chineserestaurant #milan // #sichuanfood #sichuanrestaurant #sichuantraditions #chinesefood #chinesefoodporn #milanofood #milanofooporn #chinesetraditions #china #pancetta #pepesichuan #piccante #pollokongpao #involtiniprimavera #cetriolo #pancettaaffumicata #nove #novescodelle // #alicefoodie #alice #food #foodie #foodblogging #foodporn

@jiuwan.milano #lenovescodelle #milano // #sichuan #chineserestaurant #milan // #sichuanfood #sichuanrestaurant #sichuantraditions #chinesefood #chinesefoodporn #milanofood #milanofooporn #chinesetraditions #china #spaghetti #tiratiamano #salsadisesamo #dumplings #ravioli #raviolidigamberi #novescodelle #nove // #alicefoodie #alice #food #foodie #foodblogging #foodporn
