Day 18 of 30! ✅ What a great day!! 🤗Had an awesome time at our “girl wash your face” party 🍷! Got a lot of work done at the 9-5. Snuck in a little break at Caribou 🍵-had the Mango Black Iced Tea-super refreshing today and program friendly! Productive appointment with the chiro too! Today found me on the road 🛣a fair amount! I was prepared and was able to eat clean 🍇 all day! Something new I have been doing on this journey is listening to podcasts🗣! Specifically listening to personal growth ones! The first one I love is by @msrachelhollis (girl was your face author) called Rise! I was in my car almost 3 hours this afternoon-lots of listening time 🤦🏼‍♀️! Feels great to be productive doing something so mundane! The one I loved today, even though I have loved them all, was “the last 90 days”. Basic gist is let’s end our year the way we start one-big goals, strong and focused! 💪 The other one I have been loving is the life coach school with Brooke Castillo. The one today I took from was “how to fail”. Life is about taking risks but with risks comes failure 🤷🏼‍♀️! We need to learn how be comfortable failing as this is a way to know we are moving forward-with each lesson learned we grow stronger and become more comfortable! I totally encourage you to search some topics you want to learn more about and listen to some podcasts 👂! I promise you will feel so productive while driving! REST DAY 😴 - Today is rest day, definitely physically, not quite mentally yet. One more exam this week and 3 more next week then my little brain can rest for a few days. This week has been the most exhausting weeks I’ve had in a while. I’m so ready for a break. Also, with the two days I’ve been able to lift, my body is SUPER sore so I needed the rest day. I’m struggling to move around, I feel like an old lady 👵🏼 - It’s super important to listen to your body especially when it comes to fueling your body and giving it the rest it needs. How often should you be getting checked? . This question varies from person to person and depends on many different factors such as lifestyle (nutrition, exercise, mindset, sleep) + how much and what sort of stress you are under. . When people first see a chiropractor, they may need to be checked and adjusted more regularly in the beginning. This is often because the underlying issues may have been building up of several years or even decades even without the presence of symptoms. . As the spine/central nervous system is cleared of on dysfunction the bodies ability to interpret and adapt to its environment improves meaning the longer people can go without needing an adjustment. . Although we don’t like to hear that any of our practice members are in pain, pain levels don’t dictate how regularly we need to be adjusted. This is because only a very small amount of our nervous system is designed to detect different sensations/pain, which is why pain isn’t the greatest marker of how well your body and nervous system are working. This can be same for people who’s symptoms or pain brought them into the practice for care, just because their symptoms improve quickly does not mean they don’t need to be adjusted anymore. We all know someone who appeared “healthy” only to be diagnosed with an illness or condition. . The whole team at Chiropractic House as well as our families get checked and if necessary, adjusted, at least every fortnight and have been doing so for many years. I have been adjusted since I was 3 days old. Although most of the time I don’t have any pain/symptoms, I choose to get checked in order to improve the function of my nervous system in order to enhance my bodies inborn healing ability to allow me to thrive! . Some people will always use chiropractic as pain/symptom management and that is ok by me, but that is like brushing your teeth ONLY when you get a sore tooth. Many of my practice members choose life-long chiropractic care to keep their spines and nervous system healthy and functioning at their best but the exciting thing is you get to decide what is best for you.
