⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Today's post is gonna be a really personal one. Sometimes I speak to new students after class and find out that some of them feel dejected because they can't do certain things in class and it made them feel that they're not good enough. It completely breaks my heart because I've felt the same way in past relationships and I want them to feel the exact opposite after yoga. I've had partners who suggested plastic surgery (boobs, eyebags, whatever), dictated the way I dress, and some who called me big in the past. And I kept trying to change myself to all these 'standards'. Eventually, I realized that their comments stuck to me and impacted me so heavily partly because I lacked self confidence. The truth is, you'll never be good enough if you keep finding fault with yourself. Let go of that need to be perfect. Pause and silence your thoughts like what we do at the start of the class. Discard any negative thoughts and just be present. Focus on going where your body takes you, regardless of size and shape. And that's good enough. That's what I want to impart to my students.
