My days look different lately. Break from CF. This year hasn’t been what I had desired. Sometimes admitting/realizing you’ve got significant health issues is harder than taking a break. But if you don’t, run the risk of full body shutdown & I was close. So close. ER, countless painful procedures, dr visits, more meds than I like, colonoscopy, & major surgery in about 6ish weeks. Thankful my surgeon told me it wasn’t anything I’d done wrong... powerful words. Now focusing on healing. No flight or flight metcons. Reduce inflammation, tracking my food again. Walking, biking, rowing. ❤️ my husband, children & close friends who speak truth in love when I was in denial. But Crossfit taught me I’m tough. I’ll make it. I can do hard things 👊 and there are Gods blessings in every season. Every one. He’s my provider and physician ❤️ He’s got me & I’m going to do my part ❤️ #reallife #harkinstrong #crossfit #notallsunnydays #rainbowscomeaftertherain #ichoosemyperspective

Do you ever feel like people on social media are always so positive and perfect? • That is simply untrue! • As humans, we all feel a wide range of emotions on a day to day basis. And I was having a conversation with someone about this yesterday and it reminds me of something important • Not one person is ALWAYS positive and happy 100% of the time. We all get mad, sad, unmotivated, down on ourselves, and frustrated. • But I think the difference is how one gets out of it, versus someone who uses it as an excuse for not being where they want to be • On one hand, you could stay in those negative thoughts and just say “poor me, this is how it is and I can’t do anything about it. The world is out to get me” • OR, we can align and recognize that, okay yes, I am feeling kind of pissed or sad or whatever. But the difference is, I AM IN CONTROL OF MY LIFE. I control my thoughts, I control how I respond to a situation, and I am in control of my outlook on life. Figure out a routine you do that makes you feel better and releases your anger or sadness, and then FIND SOMETHING POSITIVE, find some reason to be grateful...just LET IT GO • It is healthy to let things out and be HUMAN! • Just practice thinking positive, even when your mind does become negative, work on switching it back ❤️ • What is your routine that makes you feel better??

Close the week out with some hot and sweaty run intervals. Class had E4Mx8: 400m runs. Yuck. — This was one of the days that I was super glad to be following the Compete program instead of Tribe.
