When passive hanging becomes boring and you need more of a challenge 😝 I’ve got two pull up bars in my house. When your family challenges you to climb some rocks and hold a position for a minute and you will complete it even at the risk of dislocating all fingers 😂🤣 - I admire climbers who can do single finger pull ups etc. Their grip strength is tremendous! I have been giving my all to training recently. Although, it is less fun than an unstructured session, I have been massing massive strength and power gains. . Last night left me broken and rolling on the mats. . 45 minute bouldering warmup 45 minute campus session focusing on contact strength and explosive power 20 minutes 1 arm training with an elastic band 45 minutes 5x5 bouldering . Climbing Series: Annular Pulley Injuries - Part 5 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 👉🏻 Strength training has been shown to reduce risk of injuries for sports injuries. So what better way to reduce annular pulley injuries than to start with the classic dead hangs! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⚠️ Word of caution: if you have just started climbing, get in more climbs first before you consider this. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🧐 There are many different dead hangs programs out there. But if you are new to this, or keen to start a routine of dead hangs, you can follow our suggestion! We are in favor of low volume (less sets) high load training as it has been shown to result in greater strength gains (Having said this, there is certainly great value in using other forms of progressive sub-maximal load training, especially for newbies!) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ✅ It is of great importance to give yourself at least 48 hours rest in between each dead hang training. Your finger flexor tendons need a break as dead hangs are highly strenuous on them. Studies have shown that repeated training with rest periods that are too short can result in a net degradation of the tendons, leading to overuse injury! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ 📣 Have a different dead hang regime that works well for you?
