This week focus on your best self! Sometimes I love watching fitness stars do unimaginable things that is not realistic for my body's current state. I like to watch it because its things I used to be able to do or things I hope my body can do. Rarely do I stay in the "used to be my body" feels. My journey is moving forward with what I have and building on it. Im not getting younger. My kids will not stay small forever. I really just want my body to be strong enough so I can continue to be present as BEST as I can with them. I train so I can function better each day, even when extreme fatigue hits or inflammation is sucking my body dry. DEADLIFT CITY . Fridays session was all about pulling! . I've taken a break from my double bodyweight deadlift goal just due to life stresses getting in to my headspace . I've changed my training around over the last month to accommodate this and it's given me a less strict program - massively helpful! . So, Fridays have been about varying what I do on pull days. I've switched up to a sumo deadlift Vs conventional and added in some SLDL (stiff leg deadlifts) and GHR (glute ham raises), you'll also notice the ring rows . This is it for my pull day . Simple, short, done in an hour and loads of carry over . It's back to Smolov and heavy lifts in 2 weeks. Hopefully they'll feel better for the extra accessory work I've been doing . Sometimes you have to be willing to adapt the plan to achieve maximum results long term

Tiger Balm I get asked for which heat cream to use all the time. Hands down over the years I've found tiger balm to be both effective, cheap and reliable. The only drawback is that it may stain your clothes if your not careful. Either wash off or wear an old jumper to bed.

It’s official 🔥💪🏻 Here’s the reality.... When you see pictures on social media, you think “oh he lifted that easily”. What you don’t see is the struggle, sacrifice and hard work behind it. . . On 21 Sept 2016 my raw deadlift was 185kg. Then I got injured. 😭 I went backwards and had to start again. It was upsetting, frustrating and quite frankly I was super pissed off for a long time. BUT, I wasn’t about to give up. 💪🏻 I got a great team of physios, coaches and family supporting me. . . Fast forward 2 years & 9 months later I’ve made it all back, jumped 10kg and took out the Australian 🇦🇺 record, without too much of a struggle. I also collected a few other records along the way. . . It’s been a minute since I trained conventional deads. 4 sets of 8 [225, 225, 235, 235lbs] followed by DB RDL, and 3-0-3 tempo squats 🥵 • Do conventional pulls help sumo pulls? What’s your opinion?

ECCENTRIC- WHAT IS IT? 1. A major reason that plateaus are reached is because people no longer are able to activate satellite cells. These cells are activated through overloading the eccentric phase of the lift. 2. In order to overload the eccentric portion of the lift, use a controlled but short eccentric phase of a lift, like 1-3 seconds maximum. Anything longer may lead to muscle damage. 3. also assisted negative repetitions can optimize protein synthesis and muscle growth. It's crucial that you periodize this method because it will lead to substantial muscle damage. Utilize it no more than once per week for the body part that needs the most work. There are so many ways to increase the eccentric load. The OG method is to use assisted negative reps, where you lift the weight yourself, and on the way down someone presses down on the weight. A second way is to lift a weight with two limbs and lower it with one. ex: if you're doing hamstring curls with two legs on the way up, you can lower with only one leg. Try out some eccentric exercises in your next workout to really feel the burn!!

REST DAYS by @kruckifitness - One of the biggest mistakes I made when I started lifting was going too hard too soon. I trained every single day for 3 weeks, and while I did build a little muscle, at the end of it all, I felt way too fatigued, I was always tired, and it was just too unsustainable to keep going forward. I took another 3 weeks off from the gym before I went back. - While the motivation to go to the gym constantly is a good thing, it's also a good thing to get proper rest. If you're not getting enough rest throughout the week, it's gonna be harder for you to build muscle over time. - This is why training splits varying from 3-6 days a week are great, you still get to go to the gym and make gains while getting the proper rest you need. Great workout today! I have been so sore but for some reason do some of my best work when I'm tired and sore. Great workout with @_alirae_88 she pushed me along. 6rounds 1 min of bent rows try to not stop 1min of burpees (😂😂they were so bad) 1 min of deadlifts with a row I failed at that so I just did deadlifts. 1 min rest I finished up with some deficit deadlifts and got a 2 rep PR.
