At the beginning I really just wanted to put on muscle and lose some fat. Putting on muscle takes TIME. Seeing my body change is the most rewarding/cool experience. One of my goals was to have my arms be defined when I’m not flexing/just standing there doing nothing. I saw myself in a picture the other day and my arms were poppin!!😂 If you put in the time and the work the results will come. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I noticed the most changes in belly fat when I started to focus on what I was eating. Abs are made in the kitchen 100%! Even if you do abs every day, the muscles may be there, but they will still be covered by a layer of fat. I’m excited to be on this little “cut” to finally see what’s under there!!😂

okayyyy soooo, I used to HATE front squats in college because it caused a lot of pain in my shoulders and upper back BUT I’ve now learned to love 💕 them! Becoming more knowledgeable on correct form and practicing correct form has been a major help in performing this exercise & increasing weight every week! Not only are they a good alternative form of squats when you are experiencing lower back pain but also an effective exercise to build those quads! Currently at 130lbs working sets for front squats & i can’t wait to see where I’ll be next week 🤗 - Some days are harder than others & some days you’re more sore than usual but you gotta remind yourself of those GAINZ that are about to come. I 1000000.275% did not want to go lift today after doing some bs PT at the academy. But, I did it anyways. And I wore my Tullamore Dew shirt because I’ll be dreaming about alcohol until I can drink again on the 24th 🤣. My instructor/co-worker reminded me why we do all of this training - the suffering, the blood, bruises, sweat and tears & it’s so we’re ready for anything, all the time; so when, not if, shit hits the fan - we’ll be ready. #rant Let’s get raw and real here people - losing weight and keeping it off is HARD. Keeping a consistent “healthy” diet is HARD. Getting your ass to the gym after a long workday is HARD. I’m not here to feed you some bullshit. A lot - and I mean A LOT - of fitness influencers constantly say “I do this this and this and I STILL get to the gym, what’s your excuse?” My excuse? My excuse is that I work 40+ hours a week at a very physically and mentally demanding job and I’m just plain EXHAUSTED. My excuse is that although you do all these things, I just can’t handle 7 different things on my plate and neither can many other people. Oh, but I just have to make the time? I know I have the time to go to the gym and exercise, but truthfully, when your job is in a gym or online fitness related, it’s significantly easier to have that freedom to train often, cook all your meals/meal prep consistently, and reach your goals and keep them. I’m TIRED of feeling bad about not going to the gym when I get home from work and I’m so tired I literally can’t stay awake if I sit down. I’m TIRED of hearing that I’m just making up excuses. I’m TIRED of feeling like a fake fitness influencer because I don’t have abs, my muscles aren’t defined, and I have a tummy! Sure I still have fitness goals and I would absolutely LOVEEEE to go to the gym five days a week, cook all if not most of my meals, have the mental capacity to track macros and not obsess over it, lean out a bit, work 40+ hours a week at my job, work extra when I get home on the side, maintain my apartment, car, laundry, life, etc. But it’s honestly NOT REALISTIC. It’s not! Anyone who says it is, is a liar (either that or they have a hell of a lot of help doing the smaller tedious tasks aka cooking, cleaning, etc). So many things have to go on the back burner while the priorities do just that - be priorities. Obviously healthy is a priority, but to be able to be at a fitness level that is more than just maintaining health, isn’t always attainable. That’s just my take on things. I was super sick today. Couldn't breathe out of my nose at all. Took some decongestant before I hit the gym and oh boy..... I was a snotty bitchhhhhhhhhhh. I was just going to lift and do light cardio but I drew the line when I dripped snot on the bench.... Hopped on the bike because it was the closest machine to the paper towels and garbage can lol. #strategicplacement During that ride I realized I forgot deodorant and thank God no one was next to me or they might have died or thought I was homeless. Also got home and realized my fucking workout leggings were inside out.... The tag was coming out like a tail on the back 😂🤣 😂 Still busted out a decent distance though. I didn't post on here this weekend. I didn't even realize it until now.My husband's drag car caught fire 500 ft down the dragstrip around 100mph Friday 5/10, so IG took a back seat. Husband walked away but if you scroll you can see the car is DONE (for now). Took this weekend to really appreciate each other. We weren't on speaking terms Friday due to an argument and that could have been the last thing I got to say to my husband was something shitty and petty. Close calls like this make you realize life could change in an instant. Looking back to when I first started powerlifting last year I had no idea what I was doing. Not one clue what good form was or how much weight I can lift. Luckily with the help of a great teacher and supportive gym friends I learned and continue to learn till this day. This isn’t a one time “get fit” phase for me...this is a life long sport I want to continue to grow in and practice. I’m no where near perfect and I also don’t consider myself a pro but I have came a long way. ⁣I’m proud of myself. I have accomplished personal goals that my past-self never thought I’d do. Coming from a history of mental illness in my family and even in myself (depression, anxiety, panic attacks, etc) I have found the one thing that helps me through it all. I’m grateful for my struggles. I’d never take back anything life has thrown at me. HOW I LOST 10 POUNDS IN ONE MONTH💃🏽 . A little over 2 years ago I was overweight & insecure. I understand.⁣ ⁣ 👉To help you stay FOCUSED with your workout routine, try these tips out:⁣ ⁣ ⁣ 🌞 Instead of not being completely unsure on what you're going to workout on, plan it out ahead of time. Write down or go over what exercises you're going to do.⁣ ⁣ 🌞 Speperate your workouts. For example; say you trained arms Monday, Tuesday you will train legs and Wednesday you will train stomach.. and so on. This will help focus on specific muscle groups and will have better results (depending your goals), as for just working on all of them at once. ⁣ ⁣ 🌞 Come prepared. Have everything you will need, for you to workout. ( Water, headphones, shoes, etc)⁣ ⁣ 🌞 Have your day layed out. Pick a time in the day, where its best for you to find time to workout. Not to go on your phone, talk to your friends majority of the time or some type of distraction. Okay feelin myself lately cause I LE-GI-TI-MAT-ELY can’t stop freaking tf out about this. 🥳 . I was told I would never get the legs I wanted. I was told it wasn’t possible for my body type. I was told it wouldn’t look good. I was told it couldn’t happen with my workout programs. I was told I HAD to go to the gym if that’s what I wanted and it would never happen at home with very little equipment. I was told to just accept it. ❌🙅🏻‍♀️❌ . Swipe to see me over a year ago. That’s how long it took me to get this far. To gain inches around each of my legs. To gain inches around da bootyyyy. It was a slow process but I DIDN’T accept what several people claimed to be impossible for me. I didn’t give up. I trusted the process. I trusted my trainers. I trusted myself. I kept going 🏃🏻‍♀️ . And this would not have happened if I hadn’t taken this leap!! ✨ If I hadn’t invested in myself! If I didn’t have a community pushing me through! 👏🏼I hear women tell me all the time how they desperately need a change, but you don’t get to desperate until you’re ready to quit buying that $5 latte every day and turn that investment into something for YOU. 🤘🏼Until you’re ready to give up one freaking episode of your fav tv show you’re binging to fit in one workout per day. When you’re willing to do those things like I was, then that’s when you’re ready to change. And that’s when you get the reward.💯❤️
