The Obstacle In Our Path (Short Story) 🔒 In ancient times, a King had a boulder placed on a roadway. He then hid himself and watched to see if anyone would move the boulder out of the way. Some of the king’s wealthiest merchants and courtiers came by and simply walked around it. 🔒 Many people loudly blamed the King for not keeping the roads clear, but none of them did anything about getting the stone out of the way. 🔒 A peasant then came along carrying a load of vegetables. Upon approaching the boulder, the peasant laid down his burden and tried to push the stone out of the road. After much pushing and straining, he finally succeeded. 🔒 After the peasant went back to pick up his vegetables, he noticed a purse lying in the road where the boulder had been. The purse contained many gold coins and a note from the King explaining that the gold was for the person who removed the boulder from the roadway. 🔒 The moral of the story here is that we all have to overcome obstacles and you have a couple ways to deal with them. 1) You can bitch and moan about it and wait for something or someone to change it for you...or, 2) use it as an opportunity to get better. Find a solution and make it happen! #neversettle

pretty in PINK💗 • Been an awesome + busy week at work but I’m so ready to relax now! It’s time for some dabs & a bath fasho🛁☺️ I’m finally filling up my schedule at work to the point where I have to schedule new clients 1.5-2 weeks out! It’s crazy to think that people want to learn from me and value my knowledge. It’s even crazier seeing my clients getting results😱👏🏼 I absolutely love being a personal trainer and my only regret is not starting it sooner. I still have so much to learn but each day is a learning experience whether one of my coworkers teaches me something or I go out of my way to learn on my own. Im stoked that this has helped me on my own fitness journey as well. I’ve learned so much about my own body and how I can further improve it. For example my back still gives me problems to this day from my car accident 1.5 yrs ago. Some days can be worse than others but it feels so much better/stronger in comparison to when it first happened. I couldn’t stay seated for more than 15 min without it getting aggravated. I’ve come so far and it feels so good to know that...I DID THAT. I’m healing and strengthening my body/mind every day and that’s all I can ask for. We making improvements people👏🏼 baby steps • It’s definitely frustrating when you’re ‘injured’ but really want to try new things and challenge yourself in the gym. I want to work on complex movements like squats, deadlifts or benchpress, but cant since my right lumbar constantly stays contracted causing other muscles up and down my right side to be over-active. It causes imbalances in my body between my right and left sides and so bilateral movements or compound exercises don’t work well for me rn. But I’ll stay patient and continue on with that unilateral gang until I feel more confident with my back. • My advice to anyone dealing with an injury: -First, if it’s something serious get ur docs approval to exercise again -don’t push yaself too hard too fast, it’s better to strengthen the problem as much as you can rather than push through the pain and risk making it worse -listen to your body, some days might be worse than others so take it slow ...cont’d below #musclegirl #workouttips #gains💪

#iam1stphorm. . IGHT @realworld_tactical this one’s for you man. If you haven’t seen this man train, visit his page right now. He’s one of my biggest motivators on Instagram. I’ve followed him for years, and now, I want to do what he does. He trains insane, so he doesn’t remain the same. I model myself after that. . There is one thing I want to touch on briefly here. It’s October; It’s bulking season; and I look different than I did 3 months ago. In July I weighed 206 and around 9% body fat. Today I’m up at 230 pounds, and around 13% body fat. The point I’m trying to make is, whether you’re cutting down body fat, or gaining weight to gain strength, don’t get discouraged by your look. Of course, I liked looking in the mirror more 3 months ago, but I also like having my strength and fullness back now. Love what you do, and keep getting better everyday, no matter what you’re goals are. Don’t let the scale determine your actions. Do what you need to do, and always have confidence in yourself. . Remember that life is always about compromise and proportion. I worked out hard today, and I’ve dieted hard all week. It’s bulking season, and now I’m sitting at home watching Halloween (1978) with a gorgeous girl (@meganclausen37), having pizza, milk duds, and tequila. And I’m enjoying every second of it. Love everything that you do, otherwise, what’s the point?? . Just because it’s the weekend doesn’t mean you can take the days off! Saturday mornings are one of my favorite times to train. Day 306- I love the saying on this board. It’s all we can do....I think of them as the basics. Kindness is on my mind today. And a lot lately. It’s a choice and it’s a lifestyle. I experienced deep, unexpected, unkindness today and tonight it still reverberates. One of the most valuable things I learned about exercising self care this week is that sometimes we will disappoint others. And that it’s actually a form of taking care of ourselves. Our choice to put our needs first may not please the people around us, but people pleasing can actually be a sickness. I’m sharing this because I am 59 days away from my open gratitude journaling coming to an end and some days I will be more vulnerable than others. Sometimes the gratitude will be painful and messy. It would be easier to hide and post a pretty picture and pretend all is well but today that would be a lie. I’m uncomfortable. So no matter what comes to my heart, this year of recording holds me accountable and it’s truly been the best year of my life...even on sucky days. I’ve spent a lot of time seeking approval and bending over backwards to be loved. I’ve stretched my boundaries and I’ve allowed many forms of abuse to be my normal at times in my life. At 49, to hear the idea” sometimes we will disappoint others and that is self care” is foreign to me. And today I am grateful for the sting of sadness in learning a valuable lesson about exercising the need to do the next right thing for me. Day Two Hundred and Ninety Eight: Holy shit what a day it was. Some may call it a breakdown, others a breakthrough, whatever you want to call it, it was intense. I did a lot of new things, most of which was reach out. Reach out to friends, reach out to people at work, I realized, accepted, and admitted that I can not do it alone. In the end of the day, I feel good. I see that walls that had been closed for 21 years are starting to come down, and that I am being loved and guided by a higher power letting me know I am safe, I am not alone. That my friends is a beautiful thing. I’m listening. ✨ There are so many brilliant influencers out there. I’m so grateful they are here to help me sort out the often overwhelming noise in our world. Real people fighting for justice and sharing their truth and pain; letting us know how to use our privilege to make a difference ( v o t e ). Spiritual guides and teachers who share their tools and struggles and victories; helping to propel us toward our purpose. People who are there to lift us out of the darkness when we’re afraid to come out from under the covers; they remind us that we’re never alone. Some days I like to dig in deep, get angry and vocal. Other times I prefer to explore my passion for service and teaching. And lately it’s about simplicity. Tapping into the very present moment and finding gratitude for me - and for you; and for the very essence of being. This life is so fragile. Through it all I’m learning so much! I am beginning to slow it down to a snails pace and I’m finding my peace there. And you are there. We are so intrinsically connected. I don’t want to miss the magic of those moments. I’m so grateful for the many, many people out there whom I admire, follow and learn from on a daily basis. It matters not whether you are famous or struggling or happy or sad.
