Hopefully the first of many! I’m working on getting new music for #imovies • Fixing Kyphosis. Kyphosis is an excessive curve in the upper region of the spine which can be caused from degenerative causes and mainly from slouching. • However, we can fix this by foam rolling the soft muscle tissue around the #thoracic, strengthening the #rhomboids and #trapezius muscles and lengthening the #pectoral muscles. • Foam Roll the myo-fascia to promote blood flow and relieve tightness. • Perform a Y-hold to strengthen to Trapezius muscle and hold for around 20-30seconds and repeat three times. • Perform a T-hold to strengthen the Rhomboids for around 20-30 seconds and repeat three times. • Perform EITHER a TRX Fly or Resistant band Pectoral stretch for around 30-40 seconds and repeat three times. • Repeat this process two to three times a week and your posture should look lot more natural. • #spinal #ibrokemybackmybackisbroken #kyphosis #y-hold #t-hold #jthirkfitness #bodybuilding #dumbbells #skinnylegs #resistantband #trx #lengthen #strengthening

Aesthetics are important. . There is a lot of dogma in the strength and conditioning world... Most, if not all, of my clients over my 10 year career have goals to feel better, perform better, and look better. With that said, the dogma out there dictates that "strength over everything" should be primary. . I'm a big believer in strength. Its pursuit will build the client to be their best physical self. But there is no reason why they shouldn't engage in assistance work to pump up the arms, chest, and #booty. What people should realize is that they should structure their workouts like this: . 1. Dynamic Warmup 2. Compound Power Exercises 3. Compound Strength Exercises 4. Assistance Work 5. Conditioning and Core Work 6. Cool Down - Stretch, Mobility, Etc. . Just adding 1-2 assistance exercises for the muscle group of choice can yield tremendous results over time. In this video I show two arm exercises I did at the end of a #kettlebell workout oriented around #power, #strength, and #conditioning. . I completed 3 #supersets of a.) alternating biceps curls (3 x 8/s @45lbs) followed by b.) dumbbell #skullcrushers (3 x 10 @35lbs). . Interested in learning how to program your training sessions?
