I'm here, but should I have come? • The answer will always be yes. Long gone are the days that I used to need a nap after the gym. Dumbbell front raise. Keep body straight with your arms straight down to the side. had a decent training sesh in less than an hour this morning. Wasn't supposed to lift today but I felt like it. Utilising negative reps are a great way to overload the muscle with higher load then usual resulting in greater muscle breakdown/stimulus. This is one of the times I recommend that you cheat on the concentric part of the movement and then slowly lower the load under control back to the starting position. Dumbbell trap shrugs. A few things about this exercise. Don't lean forward while you are raising the dumbells. Keep your back straight and use your trap muscles to raise the weights up. Weights should be parallel to your body. CONTRACT the muscle to raise it up, then slowly lower it back down. The key's in the squeeze. Also never never never rotate your traps or shoulders while doing this. You put yourself at risk for injury to your shoulder joints. Just up and down.
