There is always going to be someone that will want to question you, bring you down or make you second guess yourself. Don't let that person be you. Know your truth, your story and don't let anyone take that from you. And most importantly, believe it #projectyou #projectyou2019 #personaldevelopment #personalgrowth #empower #lifelessons #growth #savvybusinessowner #girlbossparty #theeverydayproject #creativepreneur #entrepreneurlifestyle #entrepreneur #lovewhatido #mumlife #mumofone #activemum #fitmum #fitmummy #gettingfit #mumpreneur #mumsinbusiness #mumboss #mumsofinstagram #herbalifenutrition #dontquityourdaydream #community

⚠️Don't forget! There's more than one way to get to the same destination. 🛣I recently saw 2 road signs side-by-side, as I approached a fork in the road. ↖️The one on the left pointed to the left and the one on the right pointed to the right.↗️ Both signs said NEW YORK. 😬If you feel paralyzed deciding between 2 (or more) options in front of you, it's possible that you can get to the same destination regardless of which you choose.👌 It's more important to simply pick one and try it out for a while. Give it some time. And then reassess! 👍👍⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #humpday #getyourgoals #justdoit #timetoact #takeaction #yougotthis #motivation #inspiration #success #encouragement #leadership #empower #womenleaders #entrepreneur #motivation #work #career #intersectionalfeminism #feminist #feminism #careercoach #womenofcolor #woc #womenempowerment #thefutureisfemale #goals #wednesday #wednesdaywisdom #mood #happy

Things people say that annoy me - "why do you go to the gym? You don't need to lose weight!" Not everyone that goes to the gym is there to lose weight. We all have our own reasons for being there. Speaking of making spaces, I learnt how to make my own space at my work place with the help of the ultimate strategy canvas highlighted in the book, The Blue Ocean Strategy. I started off as community manager which was a a great learning role. However, my mind always went towards strategy. I wanted to dive into it, feel the flow of ideas around my mind and construct a valuable campaign that benefits both brand and consumer. This space to create strategy decks didn't exist in the digital department as such. However, I ploughed on. I read, read and read while I tried to make an opportunity for me to show my skills in strategy. It took almost a year before I was able to make a pitch deck with the strength of strategy as its foundation. Long story short: it made waves within the firm. Seniors started talking about it and juniors wanted to learn it. In the next year, I took on the role of creating strategies even though I was still community manager. I had won the battle of proving myself that I can make a role that I desperately wanted. Only I had the power to make it happen. Now, I am a strategy and planner in digital, and I constantly aim to be better, to perhaps reach a higher role where I compete with myself to be even better than ever. All because I read a book that triggered my whole career path. . . . #worksbymarvi #makeitreal #strategy #marketing #blueoceanstratgey #books #reading #career #profession #digitalmarketing #digitalmedia #media #womenpower #womeninspiringwomen #womenwhowork #protip #empower #bookstagram #bookshelf #bookoftheday #idea #worklife #girlboss #entrepreneur #growth #progress

"Success always takes help, failure is done alone" -Simon Sinek So always be willing to ask for help or to offer it as it can be what drives you forward. I barely know some of the ladies in this group having only met them in person a handful of times..although in those moments problems are shared, relationships are built and ideas are generated. That's the power of networking, collaborating and support. Till next time ladies! 🙌 📸 @tjtorrens_photography

Okay so first off anyone else as jealous as me??? @beesteegs living her best life 😍🌊🌴 __ ... but I just wanted to post about how proud I am of Bee for working the internal battles & dealing with her internal voices (something she often battles with) and by doing so learning to embrace her banging bod!! __ Getting into a bikini isn’t an easy thing to do for most of us... but it becomes a little easier when you look in the mirror and repeat after me (no seriously, go find a mirror) “I’m a healthy, beautiful, strong & intelligent woman. Over the years, I have been so lucky to be given the opportunity to speak at events and on panels. Generally speaking, I don’t much enjoy doing the actual act. However, I love having the chance to hear and learn from others and answer questions that I’m asked in hopes that my experiences might help someone else. Over the years, I have observed a lot of things. I often times fit nicely into the preschool game of “one of these things is not like the others” 😂 Even my drink choice is different, you guys (swipe to check it out). I used to feel pressure and even uncomfortable and then I realized it was more important to be there to learn and share and less important to feel afraid. The next few pieces aren’t advice. I’m not huge on giving advice. They are observations that have made me think differently and might to the same for you. 1. Be you. Share your truths. Be vulnerable. We all are awesome and we all have flaws. Show people it’s ok to suck at the things. Empower others to share their truths too. 2. Don’t sell yourself short but don’t try to sell yourself. You don’t need to. Listen. Learn. 3. Follow the guidance. I can’t tell you how many times I go to one of these and the directions given say take 3-5 minutes to introduce yourself and hit on a topic. The purpose is for people to have a taste and then leave time for them to ask questions. What about to say next is an observation - and feedback to myself. I always stick to the rules. About 95% of the time, my male counterparts do not. Normally, at minimum, they double the time allotted. I always smack myself later questioning why did I listen? Why didn’t I share more? In the same time by the time we get to the end of the presentations I’m feeling guilty that the people that came hear and engage will a panel have had that time taken away from them. I regularly question myself and tend to lean on sticking to the guidance. 4. Don’t question yourself 😂 (#wordoftheyear alert) trust! Trust you. Trust your truths. Share the tough stories, ask the questions people aren’t asking out loud, call out what you see (always respectfully), include others and welcome them in. #girlboss #brownmamamagic #leader #empower

With a couple more warm days approaching this will come in handy! Simple spritzer bottle of peppermint and water, cooling and refreshing sure to cool you down! Over on today’s story I shared how used this same bottle to spray around my tomato plant, pesky caterpillar has been enjoying my home grown goods. I’ve read that they don’t like peppermint and spearmint, so definitely worth a try. Another bonus thing about this simple trick, not using any nasty sprays around the plant. All natural 👌🏽

Excuse the scribbles. Someone got their little hands on this when I wasn’t looking. This is the first page I wrote while in the hospital. After 3 weeks I was still sitting there not knowing what I was scared of. Not being able to leave and tensing up at the thought of it all. Note the little success in that paragraph “I Managed to get to the entrance walking twice this week” Imagine that being the most successful part of your week, that you made it to the front gate. Looking back now I didn’t give myself enough praise for that. It took me 3 more weeks before I was actually praising and rewarding myself for doing those things. Ya it may seem like a small step. But all those small steps take you one step further than you were the day before. Never play down your achievements. It’s all about changing the way you think about it. Ya I may have failed 20 times that week. But I succeeded twice and that’s what I should have been focusing on. #mentalhealth #ireland #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealthireland #mentalhealthblog #irisgblog #replenish #blog #achievement #empower #motivation #love #happy #instagood #mentalwellness #endthestigma #selfcare #rewarding

Take a moment. Even (or especially) when days are busy and you „have no time“, take a moment every day for yourself. A moment where you don’t do, just are. Observe your breath, maybe close your eyes, listen to the voice inside you, dance a little, meditate... whatever makes you connect to yourself again. This is so important. To reclaim our time for us. Have you noticed that since deciding to start a family or discovering you’re pregnant that all of a sudden you are seeing pregnant women or cute little babies EVERYWHERE? ⁣ ⁣ No it’s not the work of those Facebook spies (although they are always watching 👀 so you’ll likely be getting pregnancy adverts too!)⁣ ⁣ It’s actually because of something in our brains called the Reticular Activating System. In very basic terms (I am no Neuroscientist 🧠) it helps filter out unnecessary information so we can focus on the important stuff - imagine how much information we have around us on a daily basis - without the RAS all of our senses would be overloaded with data! 🤯⁣ ⁣ The RAS also seeks out information that is relevant and important to us and that validates our beliefs and goals. So when we are trying to conceive or we fall pregnant our brains begin to register this as important and draws our attention to things that our brains may have dismissed as unimportant before - hence why we notice all the pregnant women and babies around us! ⁣ ⁣ Partners will likely experience this too 👫⁣ ⁣ It’s also one of the ways which positive affirmations can really help you prepare for birth - they send a very clear message to your RAS that a positive birth experience is important to you which leads to this clever filter seeking out ways to help you achieve your goals 🤗⁣ ⁣ ————⁣ ⁣ #braintalk #cleverbrains #positiveaffirmations #positivebirth #pregnancy #birth #baby #pregnancyyoga #antenatalclass #activebirth #fourthtrimester #calmbirth #birthwithoutfear #doula #midwife #iseepregnantpeople #hypnobirthing #hypnobirth #hypnosis #babyboom #newparents #mumtobe #dadtobe #expectingin2019 #expectantparents #blog #blogger #empower #andoveruk

"Currently, in our home, we can have an endless flow of college students through our doors. Our main conversations center around freedom in Christ, renewing our minds by recognizing lies, giving them over to God and receiving healing truth in prayer, and advice about marriage or family. We meet for coffee and to take walks, invite for dinner or prayer meetings. Nothing international, nothing large-scale, but I’m seeing the value in the small things that happen everyday as we live our lives.⠀ ⠀ Jennifer Love IntentionalTraditions.com⠀ ⠀ To read more of the full article, click on the link in our bio.

"As you step into being a parent, does a child come out and behave perfectly? Not at all! Over time as we love them, pour into them, and spend time training them, eventually they begin to take shape if we lay the foundation the right way. Will we struggle in parenting, of course." Michael De Jong

NEVER GIVE UP! This week we will feature an encouraging story by Michael De Jong who shares, "I have come to figure out over the last 12 years of my life that the way to win in your faith, marriage, parenting or business is to just simply never quit."⠀ ⠀ To read more, click on the link in our bio.

"I think every person once they become a grandparent realizes, man, I should have taken my time with my children when they were younger. I wish I would have sat on the floor more. I wish I would have read more books. Spending quality time together is very important. Enjoy your kids. Don't rush through those those beginning years. Don't try to rush 'em out the door. It goes way too fast!"⠀ ⠀ Jay and Nancy Harmon @nancy.harmon⠀ ⠀ To watch their inspiring interview, click on the link in our bio.

"I used to get angry at my children. Becoming a Christian changed my heart. Now, I don't really react right away. I sit back and think about it before I react. "Parenting without fear and control is a process. It didn't just happen. It's something that you have to work at to become better, but still there's challenges, you make mistakes, and you try not to make those mistakes again. Just keep working at it and working at it."⠀ ⠀ Nancy and Jay Harmon @nancy.harmon⠀ ⠀ To watch more of their inspiring interview, click on the link in our bio.

One way I parented out of fear was trying to control my child's choices and not allowing them to make mistakes. So I would try very hard to help them not make mistakes and I would do things for them causing them to believe that they couldn't do it or they weren't good enough. Now I allow my children to make mistakes and help them walk through that. Instead of me trying to control the outcome I allow natural consequences to take place and they learn and grow through that.⠀ ⠀ Jay and Nancy Harmon @nancy.harmon⠀ ⠀ To watch more of their inspriing interview, click on the link in our bio.

When I was younger I had a lot of fear and when you have fear you typically want to control, so I did a lot of parenting out of control. It was all fear-based. In the Bible it says that His perfect love casts out fear so as we've come to know and walk in a relationship and draw closer to the Lord and walk through that process of receiving more of God's love that fear has dissipated and gone, so much so that now we can receive more of His love and parent completely different. It really is God that has helped us change who we are as people and who we are as parents through His love.⠀ ⠀ Jay and Nancy Harmon @nancy.harmon⠀ ⠀ To watch more of their inspiring interview, click on the link in our bio.

"Open communication I think is key to any relationship. Just keep communicating, do not stop and pull away. I myself am not very good at it, it's a challenge. We had to make a choice. It was important to communicate and not pull away."⠀ ⠀ Jay Harmon @nancy.harmon⠀ ⠀ To listen more to their inspiring interview, click on the link in our bio.

"God's love and the joy that He brings--it's so powerful, it helps you make it through some really bad situations. “We know that through inner healing, God's love and His joy are like keys but but we also know that it is a process. Sometimes there are things that can happen in our lives that can prevent us from receiving God's love and so that is what we walk through in counseling. Even though we say that we can receive God's love, seek the Lord in humility, transparency, and vulnerability, we also know that it is a process. For us it's a twenty year process. It's not something that just happened.”⠀ ⠀ Nancy Harmon @nancy.harmon⠀ ⠀ To watch more of their inspiring interview, click on the link in our bio.

"I always say that vulnerability and transparency are keys to the kingdom of God and to have intimacy with God, my spouse, and my children it is important to have those keys. "There's a motto that I live by and that is to remain hungry, humble, and teachable. For me being a parent, a spouse, and a ministry leader it is important to remain hungry for the things of the Lord, remain humble to posture myself to go low and serve, and to also remain teachable whether it be with my husband, my children, or on a leadership team--that's very important to me to pass that along."⠀ ⠀ Nancy Harmon @nancy.harmon⠀ ⠀ To watch more of their inspiring interview, click on the link in our bio

"To instill the value of truth and honesty is to provide a culture where the children are not fearful. Just be straightforward with them, that goes a long way. "When I grew up name calling was a big deal, they would refer to children as brats or just name-calling. So I kind of made an inner vow and the thought went through my mind like I'm never going to treat my children like that. I never want to call them names, belittle them ,or discredit who they are because that's how I was raised."⠀ ⠀ Nancy Harmon @nancy.harmon⠀ ⠀ To watch more of their inspiring interview, click on the link in our bio.

"When I grew up my mother didn't teach me morals and values and things that are important to me today such as purity and innocence. I was looking for love and I thought that being with a man physically was love. About three months into our relationship I got pregnant. I was 15 when I got pregnant." ⠀ ⠀ Nancy Harmon @nancy.harmon ⠀ ⠀ "I said you need to graduate high school before I'll marry you and she worked really hard with having a baby and stuff and did graduate from high school. Sometimes the legacy we have been given is not one we want to pass on, so how do we change that legacy? "So for you to be able to change a legacy for me personally would be: to be humble, to be hungry for and seek the things of God, and to remain teachable and eager to learn new things constantly. Those are mindset shifts that need to take place to change a legacy."⠀ ⠀ @nancy.harmon⠀ ⠀ To watch their inspiring interview, click on the link in our profile.

"My husband and I were at our friend’s house getting wasted. We got home around 11 PM that night. We hadn’t been home very long when the phone rang and a friend of our son Andrew called us and told us Andrew, 21 years old, had gotten into a bad accident on his motorcycle. My youngest son jumped in the van with me and we headed out to the scene of the accident. I sobered up instantly. We made it to the site and there was Andrew in the back of EMS. They were bagging him to make him breathe. They let me hold his foot."⠀ ⠀ Sheila Jetmore⠀ ⠀ To read the full story, click on the link in our bio.
