If you're like me, gaining muscle and dropping fat—you're eating 5-6 balanced and portioned meals per day. Most people only eat 2-3 big meals per day, going 6-7 hours without food.. if this is you... STOP! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So think about it like this—When you don’t eat for a while, you’re blood sugar really drops, then you eat 7 hours later and spike your blood sugar. When you spike it, that causes excess insulin in your blood. When there’s excess insulin, your body stores FAT more easily! Doing this makes your body very bad at processing food since it doesn’t know when it will be fed next, you’re forcing it into “survival mode”. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I remember in the beginning I used to set alarms to remind me to eat because life get busy! but after a while you get accustomed and realize your body IS the alarm! I listen to my body and I'm hungry usually 2 hours after my last meal. & With strength training, you need to consume sufficient calories to optimize energy availability for the body's everyday functions as well as to build muscle & if you’re trying to lose weight/burn fat, eating small frequent meals will speed up your metabolism! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Think of it as a campfire burning, if you don’t add wood eventually the campfire burns out. But if you add wood every few hours, it continues to burn. Same thing with your M E T A B O L I S M! Never or rarely feed it, it will slow down. Feed every few hours, it has no choice but to speed up! 💪🏾 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I have a meal schedule in my story for people that work 8 or 12 hr (always thinking of my fellow nurses!) shifts to help! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Let me know how it goes for you! 😋💪🏾

The last 2 weeks have been very sporadic. Some days have been on plan some days have been way off. It’s been my birthday and it’s been an emotional time too. However, it is now so important that I lose and hit target that there cannot be any excuses anymore.
