Is your diet out of date? - Somewhere between eating cottage cheese out of a hollow piece of fruit from the dieter’s special and counting calories via weight watchers points nutritional researchers created the glycemic index. 🍈 🍉 - The GI represents the rise in blood sugar level two hours after eating a specific food. The GI is useful for understanding how the body breaks down carbohydrates, but the Glycemic index does not predict an individual's glycemic response to a food, but can be used as a tool to assess the insulin response burden of a food, averaged across a sample population. - A limitation of the GI is that it does not measure insulin production due to rises in blood sugar, nor does it account for mixed meals. As a result, two foods could have the same glycemic index, but produce different amounts of insulin. Likewise, two foods could have the same glycemic load, but cause different insulin responses. Add some steak and veggies to the equation and you’ve thrown a wrench in your index. - Practically speaking we can deduce that processed or more sugar laden foods will have a higher GI, but this can also be balanced by looking at your food labels and including fiber, fats and protein to stabilize your blood sugar at feeding times.

Intermediate fasting- what are your thoughts and or experiences with it? My first time doing it and I’m going to give it 2 weeks to determine if I like it and if it’s working. I’m going to be eating higher fats and lower carbs (slightly lower than maintenance) and protein always stays the same for me. So my fasting window is from 7pm-11am and eating window is the other 8 hours. I’ve decided to do this for a couple reasons, but mainly because I’ve heard great success stories and so many good things about fasting and want to experience it myself before I suggest other people (clients) to do it. And just to see if it works for me because my diet has been so relax and I want to feel and look better so let’s see if it makes a difference. Keep in mind I’ll be eating really clean and whole foods (trying to stay away from too much meat as I’ve noticed some stomach problems lately after I eat meat 😞) I’ll keep you posted 💪🏼

I’m trying to give you exclusive information that you might not find out there. . Like it? 🤙🏽 . With the people I work with over 50% have a version of this problem 🤯 . . . Even if you’re not technically insulin resistant by lab standards (Fasting sugar greater than 100 or fasting insulin 30 uU/ml)— you might have the symptoms. Fat gain around midsection. Fatigue. Hormonal imbalance. Sugar cravings. . High insulin levels mean that your cells are not getting the glucose they need(so energy is low) . And the excess insulin is turned into fat- Especially about the midsection. . Insulin resistance also causes high cholesterol high glucose and high blood pressure ie metabolic syndrome. . Also menstrual irregularities or bad PMS can be a sign. . Lately I’ve been finding this so often that I’ve created a protocol to help regain sensitivity. . . It includes cutting sugar even from most fruit 😯 . It means starting to intermittent fast (crescendo at first) . It means incorporating spices such a cinnamon and food such as vinegar and every meal . It means more vegetables less snacks meat and grains. . . I have a long history of diabetes type two in my family and so even though I’m not technically insulin resistant by medical standards- I respond so well to this plan. . I think you will too if you fit any of these criteria – tag someone who can benefit from this knowledge! . What are your questions? .
