You have to train hard to gain that muscle workout at least 4x a week of your serious about getting size.. _____ next is diet you need at least 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight, and you need carbs. Carbs fuel your muscles eat your carbs before and right after your workout so they get sent straight to your muscles instead of being stored as fat. 🔥The perfect workout🔥 (By @dancudes ) - Structuring your workout is paramount. A poor structure can lead to a subpar workout which will lead to subpar results. Structuring a workout properly also ensures your body is primed and ready to tackle it with intensity. The first order of business is a good warm up of at least 10-15 minutes which includes light cardio work, mobility work, dynamic stretching and moving, muscle activation, and central nervous system prep ➡️ next we start with the heaviest and most taxing compound lifts as these are the ones we need to be the freshest for so we can overload them properly (e.g. squats, deadlifts, incline presses, overhead presses, barbell rows, etc.) and we still include warm up sets in there too for each ➡️ following the compounds are our ancillary work exercises which are certainly much less taxing and serve to add some volume to lagging muscles such as biceps, triceps, calves and maybe even deltoids (shoulders) ➡️ core work is often neglected but is something that should be done 2-3x/week and I tend to do it after ancillary exercises ➡️ next we have an optional cardio session which, as I said in a recent post, should be done after strength training (with the exception of a light cardio warm up) or on seperate days ➡️ finally the neglected cool down is essential to promote recovery and it is here where I believe release work is great and for some flexibility work could be of benefit. ⁣⁣ Quick and Easy Pan Mousaka ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ INGREDIENTS:⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ 1-2 zucchini, sliced lengthwise about⁣⁣⁣⁣ ½ tsp avocado oil (or coconut)⁣🥥🥑⁣⁣⁣ Salt to taste⁣⁣⁣⁣ 2 long red peppers or bell peppers (use spicy if you like it hot), cut lengthwise⁣⁣⁣⁣ 2 cloves of garlic, thinly sliced⁣⁣⁣⁣ ¼ cup strained canned tomatoes or 1 🍅tbsp tomato paste (with ¼ cup of water)⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ DIRECTIONS: ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ 🍳In a pan, on medium, heat avocado oil and cook the sliced and slightly salted zucchini until golden on both sides, then set aside. ⁣ In the same pan, put in slices of long red peppers, hot peppers if you like & garlic (season w/ salt to taste). ⁣ Cook for 3-5 minutes moving the peppers and garlic around then add about 1/4 cup of strained tomatoes or 1 tbsp tomato paste mixed with 1/4 cup water. ⁣ Let it simmer for a couple of minutes until the tomato reduces. ⁣ Pour over the zucchini and serve with grilled chicken or fish or top with a fried egg. I promote a lifestyle of health. It is my claim to have taken radical responsibility for my health and well-being. And it is my greatest passion to invite others to do the same and then walk through that journey with them. I never claim to have figured it all out. I see this as a lifelong journey. With all of that being said, let me admit that I'm struggling to get serious about my commitment to sleep. I've settling for good enough. Maybe that's because it's better than so many of the people I talk to. Perhaps it’s because I haven't consciously experienced any immediate consequences. And let me be honest, I just don't want to make changes around my habits in this area. I've recently been challenged to identify one, from the 6 Macro-Habits of Health (those things that truly must be the rocks in our jar if Optimal Health is to be achieved) to work on for a period of 45 days. It is part of our training in our newly revised Habits of Health Transformational System that will be released later this year. I have chosen sleep. I've been inviting others to take this journey with me. Community is great for accountability, encouragement, and support. I'll be posting more about Healthy Sleep and Energy Management. "Gary, I just can't nail my eating" Now, this is a common problem. People struggle with nutrition and the answer many PTs will give is "here's your calories, stay under that" 🤷🏻‍♂️ But for some, possibly YOU, it's not that easy. The answer❓ Meal prep❗ I know, you've just shuddered at the thought. 😵 But it is quite SIMPLE. Plan your meals, cook as many as you can and fridge/freeze them till you need them. If you have a cooker with 4 hobs, and an oven with two trays you can easily get 12/15 chicken breasts/steaks or other meats on the go at once. It's taken me LESS than 60 minutes to prep 13 chicken breasts for the next week or so. Some I'll freeze, and some will stay in the fridge. And if it's ideas you need ... My recipe book 📚 is now DISCOUNTED at just £7 per book till the end of the month!!!!

What kind of cardio are you? . I’ve Seen a lot of new faces in the gym the last few weeks & most of them are slaving on treadmills and stair masters trying to get beach ready . I love new people working hard to better themselves, unfortunately I’ve been in their shoes and have made the same mistakes . 1- quick fixes only result in quick failures, you have to be able/willing to look down the line and see if this is something you can be doing months (or longer) Down the line. If not, don’t be surprised when it doesn’t work . 2- Take a look at the picture again, do you know what kind of cardio your doing? I think it’s great your doing it! Awesome for heart health, lung strength, endurance training and even creating explosive energy. BUT when it comes to wanting to lose fat, it comes down far more to nutrition & resistance training with the right types of cardio sprinkled in . 3- set realistic goals, nothing wrong with big goals BUT if you think you’re going to look like that #instafit account you followed when you’ve spent the last 6months downing Pepsi’s & pizza while catching up on #gameofthrones there’s a good chance you won’t be where you want by the first day of summer . BUT WAIT, doesn’t mean you can’t or shouldn’t start working towards those goals, but reach out to someone that knows how to help you create a sustainable and proper plan around reaching those goals . I know you’re caught up in the details of it all. The diet phase. The reverse. The amount of weeks it’ll take. The number of calories you’re eating this week vs last week. But you’re missing the point. ⁣ ⁣ You will eat, every day, for the rest of your life. Do you realize that? Your relationship with food is lifelong. So this is about more than how much you weigh this week or how hard you had it by reversing for 6 months instead of 4. That’s just semantics. This is about what food means to you. How you fuel yourself. How you take care of your body. This is about what you want food to look like for you every day moving forward. ⁣ ⁣ This is about the mental changes you can make so that your nutrition can simply be a part of your life. This is about the physiological changes you can make so that you can feel your best, play with your kids and their kids, and do hard and beautiful things. This is about making nutrition something that serves you, instead of something you use to fix yourself. ⁣ ⁣ Nutrition is not an obstacle, it’s a necessity. Aging is a gift. Having the ability to eat what you want, when you want, how you want, is a gift. Be grateful, and start playing the long-game.

I’m having a super sucky body image day ~ I had to go get a new picture to renew my passport & I absolutely hated it. And not being able to smile just honestly made me look even worse.
