@roballenfitness - 🔥What are your priorities?🔥 . . Most people have time to regularly satisfy 3 priorities. If there’s extra time, a 4th or 5th can sneak in . For the majority of people, family and friends are their #1 priority, as well they should be 👍🏼 . Work has to be up there too. Gotta pay for stuff, unfortunately😒 . The third is where we start having more choice. Some people have more responsibilities and have to factor those in but most people can designate a few hours to something. That can be a hobby, reading, watching TV, playing video games OR it can be exercising and organizing their nutrition . With the number of benefits that exercise and eating properly has and how much of an impact it can have in all facets of life - it should be a no brainer. If you have a goal of losing weight then this definitely has to be number 3 on your list . That doesn’t mean you can’t watch TV or read. Not at all. Reading, TV or relaxing are important too because they reduce your stress. I assure you that there will be time for that - after your workout and have your meals planned 😊 . The only way to have real, lasting results is to consistently prioritize exercise and proper nutrition. Dieting or working out for a week or 2 won’t do much. It has to be a top 3 priority forever...Just like spending time with family and going to work . Oh and obviously you’ve got to spend some time on social media to check out my posts 😉😂 . I have been doing 3 to 4 row exercises in every back workout from last 3 to 4 months. T-bar rows(close grip or reverse grip), bent over barbell rows, seated rows(close grip and wide grip), dumbbell rows etc. Basically, hitting my back from all different angles. . . By doing so, I have improved a lot on my lower back thickness. We often see guys having good mass on upper back but as we slowly come down to lower back, all they have a tiny soft waist. . I suggest you to add rows, rack pulls and deadlifts to gain that lower back thickness. . . BLOATED BELLY?. . This is often the most common complaint I hear from my clients and is usually the first thing within the first 2 weeks of the #fasterwaytofatloss program that my clients report being relieved of! . Bloating is when your belly feels full and tight, often due to gas.. . Treatment for preventing gas and bloating is changing your diet. Research has shown that a low fermentable oligosaccharides, disaccharides, monosaccharides and polyols (FODMAP) diet can reduce the symptoms of gas and IBS. A low FODMAP diet avoids fermentable, gas-producing food ingredients, such as: * Oligosaccharides, which are found in wheat, onions, garlic, legumes and beans * Disaccharides, such as lactose in milk, yogurt and ice cream * Monosaccharides, including fructose (a type of sugar found in honey), apples and pears * Polyols or sugar alcohols found in foods such as apricots, nectarines, plums and cauliflower, as well as many chewing gums and candies.. . There are a handful of foods that are very helpful in aiding proper digestion such as: • bananas • cucumbers • watermelon • papaya • ginger • peppermint Start by cutting out FODMAP foods and then slowly bringing them back into your diet one at a time to pinpoint problem foods. #bloatbegone #fasterwaywithkandk

FASTING PROMOTES AUTOPHAGY One of the great benefits of intermittent fasting that I’ve written about often is that it promotes autophagy (the cellular self-cleansing process that breaks down and recycles damaged molecules and cellular organelles). During the fed state, when insulin is increased, the rate of autophagy is low. During the fasted state, as insulin drops, autophagy increases dramatically, perhaps 5-fold. Many of the anti-aging effects of calorie restriction and intermittent fasting come from the increase in autophagy. A high rate of autophagy is characteristic of young organisms; with aging, autophagy decreases, and this allows cellular damage to accumulate. By fasting intermittently, autophagy rates can be reset to that of a younger person. As we see above, one of the ways this happens is through lowering insulin. Exercise improves insulin sensitivity, so for any given fasting stimulus, a person who is in shape will see insulin levels drop and lipolysis commence faster than someone not in shape. Low-carbohydrate diets cause less of a rise in insulin, so probably someone on a low-carb diet who then fasts will also see a quicker drop of insulin into the range at which it promotes lipolysis and autophagy. Time to get vulnerable with something I intended to stay private about 👊🏻 Life is ever changing and it’s easy to get consumed in the busyness and chaos of. I was progressively gaining more and more weight. I was at my heaviest and knew I needed to do something about it. I was determined to become the best version of myself. Physically, mentally, spiritually and financially. I decided to reach out to a friend who posted her results, and that was it 😍 My husband and i decided we would try this together and I’m just 5 short weeks i have lost 20lbs, many inches and my husband is down 35lbs 💪🏻 Because of how amazing I feel I have decided I have to share this with everyone that has a desire for better physical health. Before we begin, you need to ask yourself ▶ "Am I hungry". Take a deep breathe, ground yourself and tap into your mental feelings as well as physical feeling. If you are hungry, it is important that you eat . If you have tap into your hunger levels and realise that you are not really hungry, then these few steps shown above can help you ride out the wave of craving. Managing cravings takes some practise, but it is well worth the effort. 🙊 . Please note that the steps outlined are for you to decide if you need to satisfy your cravings by eating. If you have manage the craving and find yourself wanting to eat anyway, that is ok! Give yourself permission to eat and doing this you will more like to eat a reasonable portion . What would be useful is to disassociate junk food with your body size 🚫 The guilt will not set you free. Always keep that in mind! - 😅Now, don’t get me wrong, lots of people actually do stick to the plan over the weekend and props to those people! But oh boiiiii, lots of people also screw themselves over the weekend. - Complete restriction during the weekdays can lead to complete binges at the weekend. Lots of times. You see, it’s cool to go out with your friends on the weekends and enjoy yourself. But hey, please, for your own sake. Calm down a little :) - Moderation. Don’t go on full blown cheat days and end up in a 1.6k calorie surplus that literally washes out ALL of the effort you’ve put in over the week. Because that what’s happens. When you go on a full blown cheat day - Just make sure your calories are where they’re supposed to be, also in the weekends. Enjoy yourself, in moderation. - Not on a full blown cheat day that wipes out all of the work you did over the week. That’s dumb and counterproductive. - Don’t forget to not restrict yourself too much and create a real lifestyle that supports your fitness, not one that destroys it. . 🤔How Many Meals Should You Eat To Lose Weight? 🤔 @roballenfitness . Follow @roballenfitness for more fitness/nutrition info . Not sure how many meals you should be eating? No problem. The good news is that it doesn’t really matter. If you’re trying to lose weight, all that matters is that you burn more calories than you eat CONSISTENTLY. If that means one giant meal then so be it. If it means 5 meals plus 3 snacks, that’s fine too. As long as the total number of calories is less than what you burn, you’re fine 😊 . What you choose will depend on your lifestyle, job and if you eat with other people. Take all of that into consideration and decide how many meals is right for you . Not sure how many calories you should aim for? Over the past month have you lost, maintained or gained weight? If you’ve lost weight, keep the calories the same. If you’ve maintained, drop it by 300-500 a day. If you’ve gained then drop it by 500-700 a day. After a month re-evaluate . 🎯 LOSE FAT WITHOUT COUNTING CALORIES 🎯 - So you don't want to track your food or count calories, no problem. Here's a sure fire way to maintain your portions without going overboard. For heavier men, I'd say to multiply these servings by 1.5-2. The only thing you might have a hard time with is you can't really measure a donut based on portion control hand sizing, so you might have to skip it or eat it anyway and see what happens. Notice a few things here: ✅ The biggest serving sizes are vegetables and protein. This will give you the most bang for your buck as far as feeling full for low calories. ✅ Everyone likes a good starchy carb, so don't feel guilty adding them into your diet. ✅ Fats are the highest in calories per gram, which is why they are the smallest portion of them all. As with any diet, be honest with yourself and your portion sizes. 😁Staying Motivated😁 .@CardioExercises . Like with anything else, you’ll have good days and bad days. What do you do when you’re in a rut and not seeing progress as quickly as you want? . Track your progress. Maybe it’s a dress that suddenly fits, an old pair of jeans that you haven’t worn in years or just measuring your waist and legs. Find a positive somewhere. Could be that you can do more push ups now or can squat heavier. Write it down. When you look back you’ll see how far you’ve come. . Setting small goals. Could be to drink 3 L of water or walk 12000 steps. Do it for a week. Then make another goal. Have something small to work at. Small wins keep you happy for the big win at the end! . Remember why you’re doing all of this. There was something in your life that needed a change, right? What was it? Don’t you want to feel better about yourself and accomplish your goals? . Try classes out. They aren’t for everyone but many people who couldn’t stay consistent managed to make working out a habit by making friends and becoming part of a community. It really helps!!! . Whatever you do, just remember that real progress takes time. BUT you have control over that. Always keep that in mind! - 😅Now, don’t get me wrong, lots of people actually do stick to the plan over the weekend and props to those people! But oh boiiiii, lots of people also screw themselves over the weekend. - Complete restriction during the weekdays can lead to complete binges at the weekend. Lots of times. You see, it’s cool to go out with your friends on the weekends and enjoy yourself. But hey, please, for your own sake. Calm down a little :) - Moderation. Don’t go on full blown cheat days and end up in a 1.6k calorie surplus that literally washes out ALL of the effort you’ve put in over the week. Because that what’s happens. When you go on a full blown cheat day - Just make sure your calories are where they’re supposed to be, also in the weekends. Enjoy yourself, in moderation. - Not on a full blown cheat day that wipes out all of the work you did over the week. That’s dumb and counterproductive. - Don’t forget to not restrict yourself too much and create a real lifestyle that supports your fitness, not one that destroys it. I just finished up a chat with one of my incredible clients who opened up to me about why it took her so long to join the program... . She was afraid to "fail" .
