If someone you know has decided to lose weight, support them. They have a plan and if they want your help they will ask. Just be there for them

Don’t bring it up all the time. If they have progress to share, listen and congratulate them. Don’t ask. They have put enough pressure on themselves already
.
Don’t offer unsolicited advice. Just because you are thin, it doesn’t mean that doing what you do will make them thin. If they are curious about something they’ll ask if they feel comfortable . Just respect their decision and help, if asked. That’s all. Take the pressure off of them and focus on your own goals 😊 . Let me know if you have any questions 😇

Who’s in the mood for some yummy comfort food on this cold rainy day ☔️ 🌧 🥘 this girl right here 🙋🏼‍♀️🥣CAULIFLOWER MAC N CHEESE Ingredients: * 3 cups Cauliflower –Steamed and chopped (6 Green) * 1 cup low fat (3-6 grams fat/oz) shredded Cheddar (1 lean) * 1 cup low fat (3-6 grams fat/oz) shredded Colby Jack (1 lean) * 2 Tbsp Half and half (2 condiments) * 2 Tbsp reduced fat cream cheese (2 condiments) * 1/4 tsp garlic powder (1 condiment) * 1/4 tsp onion powder (1/2 condiment) * 1/4 tsp ground mustard (1/2 condiment) Directions: Preheat oven to 350. In a saucepan over medium-low heat, warm the half and half, cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, and mustard (feel free to use any combination of spices you like). Whisk until creamy, do not allow to boil. Mix cheese together in bowl. Pour 1 1/2 cups of cheese mixture into the saucepan. Stir until cheese is completely melted. Add cauliflower and gently fold until cauliflower is covered. Place mixture into baking dish and top with remaining shredded cheese. Bake for 20-25 minutes until cheese is browned. (If desired broil for the last 2 minutes of baking time). Makes 2 Servings with 1 Lean, 3 Greens, and 3 Condiments per serving. Yes there's a bit more too it than this but like I said this covers the basics✔️⠀ •⠀ ⠀ Marconutreints so Carbs / Fats / Protein all contain calories.⠀ ⠀ Carbs = 4cals per 1g⠀ Protein = 4cals per 1g⠀ Fat = 9cals per 1g⠀ •⠀ ⠀ These calories are converted into energy for us to use and stay alive❇️⠀ •⠀ ⠀ If we overeat on these or don't use the energy guess what? It gets stored as fat to save for later use⏫⠀ •⠀ ⠀ If we undereat on these or use all of that energy then ... But oh boiiiii, lots of people also screw themselves over the weekend. - Complete restriction during the weekdays can lead to complete binges at the weekend. Lots of times. You see, it’s cool to go out with your friends on the weekends and enjoy yourself. But hey, please, for your own sake. Calm down a little :) - Moderation. Don’t go on full blown cheat days and end up in a 1.6k calorie surplus that literally washes out ALL of the effort you’ve put in over the week. Because that what’s happens. When you go on a full blown cheat day - Just make sure your calories are where they’re supposed to be, also on the weekends. Enjoy yourself, in moderation. - Not on a full blown cheat day that wipes out all of the work you did over the week. You’re out of your routine. You don’t have your regular gym. You’re in restaurants more. It’s not easy . You’ve got to make sure you get enough sleep. Traveling can be stressful on the body and your immune system really needs to be working at 100% . You’re probably very busy and forgetting to drink enough water. Make it a priority. Your body will thank you . Because you’re most likely not eating home cooked meals, try to start off filling up with vegetables, fruits and proteins. Then add in your carbs. Not that the carbs are bad, but you can’t fill up on it and forget the other stuff . Lastly, try to workout in the morning and get it out of the way. You’ll likely be busy later and you don’t want to be skipping workouts. If you’re on vacation then feel free to workout less and enjoy your time. You’ll probably be waking around a lot anyway. Still try your best to get some lifting in. If traveling for work, you want to try to keep your routine as close to your home routine as possible . These are all things you should be focusing on even at home, but due to the extra challenges that traveling brings, extra attention should be placed in these areas . Skin on bone in chicken thighs. Bake in oven at 425 makes the skin crunchy. Season however you like you can put olive oil if you want or you don’t have to because the skin has fat that keeps the chicken from drying out. Healthier than fried chicken and you still get that crunch. #chicken I like my chicken well done so I baked for an hour, skin on chicken breast take a little like like an hour and 20 minutes. If you season the chicken and let it sit out on the counter for 20ish minutes the flavor gets in the chicken more and it’s so cold from the fridge it’s ok to do that I think 🤔 #protein #fat #flavor

Before I start, this isn’t a normal WTF, Slimming World have brought out some syn free chips ranty post. . Instead I’m taking a more rounded view to this (not like me, I know). . And this is around the cost perspective of things. . SW are about to launch some syn free oven chips that have been grilled rather than cooked in oil prior to being frozen. . Cool, great work on reducing the calorie load. Like it. . What I don’t quite like though is the cost of the product itself. . 1kg is going to set you back £2.25. Whilst the exact same food (potatoes) can be bought for 33% CHEAPER and you get 150% MORE spuds. . Now a lot of people attend Slimming World as they see it as a cost effective way to help with weight loss and that they might be on a budget. . Well it’s not really that cost effective if you’re gonna start buying things like this. . Yes it might be syn free for your waistline, but it’s not for your pocket. . Instead of buying these, why not buy the big bag of spuds (syn free) and use a few pumps of low calorie cooking sprays (because they’re syn free too). . 🔨 HAVING TROUBLE BUILDING MUSCLE? 🔨 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Are you a ‘hardgainer’ who’s been struggling to buy on any considerable size? 🤨 These 4 points should help you in finally building some significant muscle mass 👍🏼 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The first one is obvious but it most often where people fail 👎🏼. You have to eat more!! 🍚🥪🥔🍠 If you’re not growing, you’re not eating enough. Start with 200-300 calories over your maintenance with the aim of gaining 1-2lbs a month. Keeping the calorie surplus low will limit the amount of fat you gain. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Instead of ‘bro splitting’ - use a upper/lower or push/pull/legs split ☝🏼👇🏼. These kind of splits will maximise muscle protein synthesis better than a bro split would. You’re going to be training that muscle group multiple times per week, which is more optimal for muscle growth 💪🏼. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Whether it’s for fat loss or muscle building, you should always be looking to progressively overload on every lift 🆙. Everyone needs strong quads to balance out the crazy amount of hamstring and glute movements that are going on nowadays . The Quadriceps are 4 (obviously) muscles that work together to extend your knee. They join together into one tendon which passes over your kneecap. The Rectus Femoris also helps flex the hip . They are a strong muscle group that often gets overly tight and pulls hard on the lonely tendon trying to hold them together at the bottom. Stretching, foam rolling and barbell smashing them will help loosen them up if they are getting tight . I would suggest that you put the majority of your focus on front squats, back squats and lunges when training your quads. The leg press can suffice and a narrower, lower foot position will target them more. It’s always tough to stay healthy when traveling. You’re out of your routine. You don’t have your regular gym. You’re in restaurants more. It’s not easy . You’ve got to make sure you get enough sleep. Traveling can be stressful on the body and your immune system really needs to be working at 100% . You’re probably very busy and forgetting to drink enough water. Make it a priority. Your body will thank you . Because you’re most likely not eating home cooked meals, try to start off filling up with vegetables, fruits and proteins. Then add in your carbs. Not that the carbs are bad, but you can’t fill up on it and forget the other stuff . Lastly, try to workout in the morning and get it out of the way. You’ll likely be busy later and you don’t want to be skipping workouts. If you’re on vacation then feel free to workout less and enjoy your time. You’ll probably be waking around a lot anyway. Still try your best to get some lifting in. If traveling for work, you want to try to keep your routine as close to your home routine as possible . These are all things you should be focusing on even at home, but due to the extra challenges that traveling brings, extra attention should be placed in these areas . Everyone wants to lose fat in certain places but keep a bit of fat in certain others 😉 - I’ve posted this one before but still get a lot of questions about losing fat in specific areas. Imagine every person has a puzzle like this one that is totally unique - Fat will be lost and gained very differently, depending on the person . It would be nice to be able to choose where you want to drop fat. Unfortunately, it just doesn’t work like that. Some people will lose fat in their stomach first and thighs last. Some other people it will be the opposite. There is NO diet or exercise that’s going to make you lose more fat in one place more than another. If you stay in a caloric deficit then your overall body fat will go down and you’ll lose it where you want eventually. If you strength train you can build up muscle in the places you want. Genetics will still be a factor in how easy it is to grow a muscle though. . Don’t compare your fat loss journey with someone else’s. You can be doing everything right but might just take a bit longer to lose fat in certain areas than it does for other people. On the other hand, you probably lose it much faster in some places 😊 - Don’t stress about it. Just stick to your plan and when your overall fat level is down you’ll be happy 😁 . Today I got a body composition test. It told me what I already knew, that I’m a fat fuck 😂 but seeing it in numbers and how dangerously high my body fat mass is was definitely an eye opener. I felt devastated but also gave me an idea of what I need to target. Now my goals are clearer and I can go from here. 🔥 Energy Systems 🔥 When you’re working out there’s a lot going on in your body. This info-graph highlights where your body is getting its energy and why you lose speed or strength as the as the reps get higher . The creatine phosphate system starts the process. It donates a phosphate molecule to ADP to make ATP (energy). It can do this extremely quickly but it makes only a tiny amount of energy and take a very long to to replenish itself. There is also a bit of stored ATP that gets used up quickly in the phase . Next comes anaerobic glycolysis. This is mostly used in medium duration. Energy is make through glucose in the bloodstream and glycogen in the liver. It’s pretty fast but after 90-120 seconds it can’t quite keep up with the demand for energy . Lastly is aerobic glycolysis. Aerobic meaning that oxygen is needed to produce ATP. The process is quite slow but it produces a lot of ATP . When one system is dominating it doesn’t mean the other ones shut off. They continue to operate.
