You hear it all the time but it's so true, consistency is key 🔑 Advice I'd give to anyone starting their fitness journey... 🔸Find a type of exercise that you enjoy instead of spending your whole time in the gym on cardio machines 🔸Avoid extreme dieting, there is no quick fix when it comes to your health! 🔸Small changes to exercise and nutrition over time will make a big difference to your life 🔸Stop being too hard on yourself, don't quit because of one "bad" meal or missed workout, we can't be perfect all the time 🤷🏼‍♀️ 🔸Listen to your body, give it a rest when it needs it, take time out even its a bath, a walk, read a good book with a cup of tea on the couch, whatever helps you unwind. I typically just use resistance loop bands for lower body stuff, but decided to switch it up. Challenging my upper body with the band was fun! . Start in a push-up position (either on knees or toes) with wrists in line with your shoulders. Place the band at your wrists & chose the direction you want to go. I tried all 3: sideways, backwards, & forwards. I didn’t really have an order but just ensured I kept moving. Try it for 30 seconds on one arm followed by 30 seconds on the other arm. . My shoulders were on🔥🔥🔥 after just 1 set. It’s challenging to keep back & hips flat, so slow it down if need be. It’s not about speed, but about proper movement. Sometimes, when I go to the gym, I don’t have all the time in the world to complete everything. So what I combine as many workouts as I can, to make it one exercise to cut down on time! . . Here, I am walking on the treadmill with 5% incline at 1.8 mph (I have vertigo so I pace myself so I don’t fall because my hand eye coordination is horrible 😂😂) and I am doing an overhead press with 7.5 lbs dumbbells! I completed 3 sets of 10 and sprinted in between for 30 seconds! . . Sometimes you have to switch up your routines to shock your body in order to avoid plateauing. . . Following the basic rules that underpin being successful with your health and fitness goals. 1️⃣ No Excuses - we can go on and on but really...if it’s important to you and we have agreed to it...get it done. 2️⃣ There Is No Magic - Amazing results take time and patience. Take small steps. Celebrate small victories. Build momentum. Understand the journey you are on. Keep going until you have reached your goal. Set a new one! 3️⃣ Do Not Try To Out Train A Bad Diet - You don’t have to be ‘perfect’ all the time . Depending on how disciplined you are then an 80/20 or 90/10 approach to your diet will be enough to support your goals and still able to enjoy some ‘fun foods’. 4️⃣ Listen To Your Personal Trainer - You have been around every gym in the city and tried everything from Shake A Weight to Insanity whilst wearing your Slendertone belt...and you are still not winning! Dust yourself down. Stop class hopping and get some structure to your training! Under the supervision of your trainer you will be able to accelerate your understanding of both your training and nutrition and bypass all the BS that will only leave you exhausted and out of pocket. 5️⃣Enjoy It! - This is huge for me! Loving the #backday strength gains I’m seeing! ❤️ - Building muscle is a long and slow progress for women. In fact, we can only build one pound of muscle a month (and that’s assuming that we have perfect training, nutrition, sleep, and no stress!). Men, the bastards, can gain muscle twice as fast. Thanks testosterone 🙄 - Since August I have gained 4 pounds, half an inch around my glutes, nearly an inch on my biceps, and about 1/4 inch in my legs! No, but seriously 😂

Don’t mind my sloppy form in this video I was a bit distracted 🤫😂. Learning how to balance fitness and starting this new business with mother & wife duties as well as just my own personal wellness in mind has actually been pretty smooth sailing this last month! Lately I’ve been waking up at 550am so I can get downstairs and workout in the studio before everyone else wakes up. It helps to workout first thing in the morning, it’s my me time and I’m free to do what I want after training my morning clients. Then I get Mark ready for the bus and Mike’s busy getting off to work. Today I didn’t quite finish my workout and was trying to get a few more reps in before Mark got on the bus. My bookie baby loves to watch his mommy do all these weird movements 😂. So happy to have a supportive loving husband who cheers me on every step of the way. Having the most loving badass supportive clients and friends in the world is such a blessing too! All I know is I LOVE this! This is my passion! It will all balance itself out because it’s what I’m meant to do. Happy Friyay everybody! Cheers to the weekend💪🏽💦💖
