We’re off to an awesome start this Saturday with a trip to the gym then to the Farmers’ Market downtown! As per usual, it’s just gorgeous outside 👌🏼☀️🌴 workout was: • Goblet squats to high pull 10 reps 14# Sumo squats to shoulder press 10 reps 8# Front/lateral/overhead combo 10 reps 6# (3x through) • Bent over row 10 reps 30# Wide military press 10 reps 20# Face pulls 40# (3x through) • I tracked my heart rate and didn’t expect it to climb as high as 145, but squats are hard work y’all! Even without a lot of weight 🏋🏼‍♀️ so I rested between moves and sets as I needed to to let my HR come down. Basically we’re waiting to get to follow up on a possible hemorrhage I may have had at some point, so I want my HR staying low to discourage any bleeding if possible. That’s a pretty good reason to take it easy right now. We should be finding out gender soon— we’re thinking little brother 💙💙💙 anybody else have any guesses?! #16weekspregnant today! This is one of my FAVOURITE moves to strengthen the core. The Criss Cross is a signature Pilates move, and you will FEEL this baby burn 🔥 Things to remember: ✳️ Engage your core. You do this by pulling your navel towards your spine. ✳️ Tuck your chin towards your chest, as though you were holding a tennis ball under your chin. DO NOT tuck so far as to have your chin touch your chest. ❗ DO NOT arch your lower back. It needs to be flush against the floor. ✳️ Keep your thighs engaged, and elongate through to your toes. Knees stay straight as well. ❗ Elbows stay wide. Don't cup your head or collapse your chest inwards. ✳️ Aim your shoulder towards the opposite knee, not your elbow. . . Becoming familiar and comfortable with the movement options, help them maintain their fitness during pregnancy These days, my goal is to spread more info for those who are not in my class or maybe wanting to try another class with me or other instructor. This is the movement option for Sun Salutation. If you are an instructor and not sure om what to do when you have a pregnant lady in your class, you can DM me for many options and how to coach them. Just remember to stay calm and dont panic. If you're pregnant, and never done any exercise , i suggest you to consult to your doctor first before class. and please be on time, and be sure to info the teacher/instructor how far your pregnancy is. Since i started cutting ive been taking wheatgrass shots weekly, just recently i added in the ginger shot (which is spicy like a 🤬) lol All the reasons to drink wheatgrass, ill give you my top 3. 1.) wheatgrass contains all minerals known to man... plus is has 17 amino acids... the defined as the “building blocks of protein” 2.) it contains chlorophyll and chlorophyll is the first product of light... therefore NATURAL ENERGY. 3.) just one ounce of wheatgrass is equivalent to 2 pounds of produce, therefore cutting off the hormone that tells your brain its hungry... save that appetite. Though there are many reasons why you should take it those three are my personal interest. As far as the ginger goes, it is said that ginger boost the immune system, aids in post workout recovery, and aids in digestion. Afterall, who doesnt want to kick common colds and body soreness🤷🏾‍♀️. Im sold. Both of these along with healthier eating habits such as packing my lunch daily, eating more veggies, never skipping meals... i dont even feel the need for my morning coffee... nor pre workout before heavy lifting! Just wanted to take a minute to talk about this lady again. If you've followed me for a while, maybe you've seen her transformation before. This month has been officially a year since this beautiful lady ..Mom to FIVE kids .. decided to take me on as her coach and put a lot of faith in me and the health/fitness programs I promote and run. It seriously warms my heart all over to look back on the past year..i honestly hardly remember what my groups were like before Sonya joined..she is the best encourager, honest about the good days and the bad and just trusts the process. As is pretty clear from these pics... She has completely and totally changed her life and health over the past 365 days/12 challenge groups. Some exciting things may be happening soon, since last night when she received a pretty exciting email from Beachbody transformations HQ. Can't wait to share. In the meantime, it was just a reminder of how proud I am of Sonya's drive and passion to live a better and healthier life. ❤❤

HOWDY FROM HOUSTON! I got home yesterday and I could not be happier. This trip came at a perfect time for me, so I’m soaking everything up! After some LISS and a much needed nap, my brother took me to the Houston Rodeo BBQ Cook-off to get my BBQ fix. It might be my favorite Houston tradition. This morning I slept in and was woken to a fresh cup of coffee from my Dad and we went to the gym together. Finished up #pwr week 6 resistance with Arms + Abs, and now it’s off to say hi to my Mom’s 5th grade class before some beautification and self-care before my friend’s wedding! It is SO GOOD to be home ❤️ #pwr12wc #sweat12wc #girlswholift

Well if Rhett didn’t perfectly capture his entire morning 🙄 he woke up early and has been cranky ever since. I am so thankful he at least behaves in the stroller because that 40 minutes of brisk walking around town has been the most peace he’s given me so far today. I have bad days, too, buddy. I get it. I am so ready for him to be out of this phase where he throws his head back in protest though. I will NOT miss that! I’m still trying to be as active as possible right now while keeping my heart rate down. My new Garmin Vivoactive HR will be here today so I’m pumped to be able to monitor it even closer now too! This weekend’s 7 miler is postponed until we know if I can continue running through pregnancy 🤷🏼‍♀️🤞🏼🤰🏼HAPPY FRIDAY! Push through every single obstacle you can, and store that potential energy when you can’t ✨

This is how hubby utilizes my meal prep containers from livefit. His idea of meal prep. 😌😳

CHOCLO CON MANTECA Y SAL De chica era un clásico en mi casa. Acá mi propia versión: Vas a necesitar: >Choclo: elijo orgánico, que es libre de pesticidas, no es transgénico. Con esto quiero decir también que es 1000 veces más rico y más nutritivo. Este es de @delaguavenimos >Ghee: es manteca clarificada. Un alimento súper saludable, tradicional de la cocina de la India y Ayurveda. Para mí, tiene el mismo gusto que la manteca tradicional. Así que esta es una forma de hacer un cambio chiquito en tu alimentación y que sume mucho. No tiene lactosa ni caseína, ideal para cocinar y tiene enormes beneficios. Otro día me explayo. @lavacayogui lo vende, sino mi amiga @lavitalita tiene en su perfil la receta para hacerlo casero, que es muy fácil! >Sal rosa del Himalaya: no es refinada y conserva con todos sus minerales. Usé @maslifeco Los pasos son súper simples. En una cacerola calentá agua. Mientras tanto, sacale la hoja que cubre el choclo y lavalo. Cuando hierva el agua metelo y cocinalo por 5/10 minutos. Retiralo del agua, pincelalo con ghee y tostalo en una sartén. Al finalizar agregale la sal y listo para comer!

The awesome (but evil!) @the.brewkenstein nominated me to try the #paperchallenge. For someone with major ankle mobility issues (courtesy years of walking around in stilettos 👠), this was no cake walk. RULES: You need to balance on only one leg, and try to pick up the piece of paper with your mouth. No hands! Careful not to fall on your face, though. (Not me, no, I'm totally graceful and balanced AF 😬) This challenge works multiple aspects of fitness -- strength, balance, and mobility. To pick up that piece of paper is a LOT more difficult than it looks! After a few tries (okay, maybe more than a "few"), I luckily DID manage to complete it! 🎉🏆 Next up, I nominate @dumbbellsndrama @yogacaro @eatslurptravel.repeat @samarpita @ashwinikaikini @natashanoel001 @casplaycirque and @thecheesecakeproject to try this!
