For June's Swole Treat 💪🍬, I have a healthy, simple DIY Cinnamon Chips recipe that goes great with guac. With a recipe so easy to follow and quick to make, there's no excuse not to treat yourself! Macros without Guac. x 1) Set a toaster oven or oven to bake at 425-450F. 2) Gather ingredients: 1 Xtreme Wellness Wrap, Spray Oil, Cinnamon, Salt. 3) Cut your wrap into the desired chip size. 4) Set out some aluminum foil, prep with spray oil, lay out your raw chips. 5) FIRST, spray your raw chips with spray oil, THEN apply cinnamon and salt. 6) Lay the aluminum foil on an oven safe tray. 7) Let cool for 2-3 minutes. Check your chips. I’ll take you on Big Food Companies! 🥊 • Kellogg marketed its first food product, Corn Flakes, in 1906. The company “mounted a vicious marketing campaign against the egg industry . . . claiming eggs led to heart attacks.” The information was completely without fact but just designed to sell cereal, but fear of eggs continues to this day. • “Are eggs healthy” and “Are eggs bad for you” are two of the top Google searched, despite the American Heart Association declaring eggs healthy in 2000, a finding then reaffirmed by the government a bit later. • Brands are legally allowed to set the serving sizes on their packaging (1 serving, 3½ servings per bag, etc.) however they want. It’s normally preposterous! • People are becoming conscious of sugar and trans fat so if a food contains too much of this to be considered healthy, a marketer can make it seem like far less by creating smaller portion sizes. • If a meal contains 20 grams of sugar, they simply chop the serving size down to four per container, and list five grams of sugar on the nutrition label and the front. • Since health-food marketers need to be able to claim their foods are trans fat-free, they simply play with portion sizes until the math works. • Food labels aren’t there to educate you, they’re there to market to you. Best to eat foods not needing one!👊🏼

My own version of an everything bagel😆 - After being away all week last week feels good to be at home cooking my own meals. I found the most delicious figs this weekend, they are perfect, just the right texture and sweetness. I find it doesn’t happen that often because when we do get them here, often they are overripe or just not ripe enough. I bought a full case and will not have a hard time going through it 😉. Pesto is the besto 😌 Pesto pasta by @feelgoodfoodie 🥒 Ingredients: For the Pesto 1 cup basil leaves, destemmed 1 cup baby kale, destemmed ¼ cup almonds, slivered blanched 2 large cloves garlic 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese ½ cup extra-virgin olive oil Juice of 1/2 lemon For the Shrimp 1 tablespoon olive oil 1 pound raw shrimp, deveined, tail off Salt and pepper, to taste For the spaghetti 2 zucchinis, spiralized 8 ounces spaghetti INSTRUCTIONS 1. To make the pesto, Combine basil leaves, pine nuts or walnuts and garlic in a food processor and process until very finely minced. Add the lemon juice and parmesan cheese. Then with the machine running slowly pour in the oil and process until the mixture is smooth. 2. To cook the spaghetti, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil over high heat. Add the pasta and cook until al dente according to package directions. Reserve 1 cup of pasta cooking water, then drain the pasta and return to the pot to stay warm. 3. To cook the shrimp, season shrimp with salt and pepper. Skewer the shrimp, if desired or as is. Preheat pan to medium-heat and add the olive oil. Cookshrimp for 2-3 minutes per side, or until it turns pink. 4. When you’re ready to eat, toss the pesto with the pasta water along with the cooked spaghetti and raw zucchini noodles until well combined. Wegańskie, bananowe placuszki dla przypomnienia 🙋🏽‍♀️. Delikatne, wakacyjne, pyszne, idealne na dzisiejsze śniadanie. W końcu dobrze rozpocząć tydzień DOBRZE 😀. Przepis na podstawie przepisu @jadlonomia na placuszki z rabarbarem * 3/4 szklanki mąki owsianej * 2 łyżki erytrytolu * szczypta soli * cynamon * 1 łyżeczka proszku do pieczenia * 1 dojrzały banan * 1/2 szklanki mleka * 2 łyżki oliwy (lub oleju kokosowego/ masła klarowanego - wtedy nie będą wegańskie) + pokrojone truskawki i jagody Banana rozgniatamy widelcem i mieszamy z resztą składników. Na końcu dodajemy pokrojone na mniejsze kawałki truskawki i jagody. Smażymy na oleju kokosowy lub maśle (tą opcję polecam najbardziej, o ile placuszki nie muszą być w pełni wegańskie). Podajemy z jeszcze większą ilością truskawek. BISCOTTO GELATO 🍦 HOMEMADE (Ricetta sotto ⬇️)... Buongiorno con questa buonissima colazione 😍! La prossima volta giuro mi impegnerò un po’ di più anche sull’estetica 😂, ma erano veramente buoni, perfetti sia per merenda, sia, perché no, con questo caldo, anche a colazione!! Io scappo a lavoro e stasera 🏋🏻‍♀️! Buona settimana 💓 ••••• PER I BISCOTTI, ho usato una banana schiacciata e 50 g di fiocchi di avena, ho poi aggiunto un cucchiaio di crema di nocciole (100% nocciole) e ho mescolato il composto. Ho creato delle palline che poi ho schiacciato su della carta forno a creare i biscotti; ho cotto a 180° per circa 15 minuti. PER IL GELATO, ho tagliato una banana a rondelle e l’ho messa a congelare; poi ho preso uno di quei contenitori per ghiaccio che si mettono nel freezer e l’ho riempito di yogurt alla vaniglia. Ho messo a congelare anche quello. Dopo qualche ora ho messo la banana e lo yogurt congelati dentro il frullatore; ho frullato alla massima potenza fino ad ottenere un composto omogeneo. (Probabilmente avrei dovuto aggiungere giusto un goccio di latte). PER OTTENERE IL GELATO BISCOTTO, ho ricoperto un biscotto con il gelato e chiuso con un altro biscotto. Si possono anche conservare in freezer per qualche giorno in una vaschetta da freezer 🤩🤩

Today’s super quick lunch! 😋 Leftover roasted chicken, topped with natural Greek yogurt, roasted capsicum with a drizzle of olive oil on toasted sourdough. . . Your lunch doesn’t have to be complicated to be good for you. Aim for natural ingredients whenever possible, not processed. I like to roast my capsicums, but there’s lots of good varieties that you can buy. I’ve loaded up my sourdough with a fair bit of chicken 😉, so I found one piece of sourdough bread was enough for me today- Although I generally feel satisfied with two. Slow down when you eat, and you’ll know if you need an extra piece to be satisfied- Eat mindfully 💞

And because they’re so extreme, they often fail due to the unrealistic expectations. Metabolic adaptation is definitely real, but in most cases the reason you’re not losing weight on a really low cal diet is because you’re following an unsustainable plan that leads to binging, not that your metabolism all of a sudden stopped working.⁣ ⁣ So when it comes to weight loss, you gotta set yourself up for success by not going into such a big deficit because u are only human. It’s important to set goals that are attainable & sustainable.⁣ ⁣ Here’s the takeaway 👉 It’s not necessarily that low calorie diets don’t work, it’s that going into too big of a deficit is unsustainable (& also has negative impacts on your health). So it makes much more sense to be in that moderate deficit where u can still enjoy your diet & live an awesome lifestyle while making progress, & have energy in the gym and build/sustain muscle mass. sustainability=progress, always.
