Believe it or not I used to be able to do the splits on both sides. Perks of being a gymnast. But it has been years since I could. . . I have people ask me the same question all the time: “how did you do that after having 3 kids?” The honest answer? I simply started, and never stopped. Did I slip up sometimes?Of course! I still do! Old school AF. It's not fancy. It's not new. There's not 3 rows of 20 different cardio machines. There's no fancy pieces of equipment. There's no logo stamped into the weights. The machines aren't painted in pretty colors too make you feel good. There's some old school machines that still work harder than most of the people they see. There's bars, and there's plates. There's big boy plates. There's 3 squat racks and there's benches. No one is going to hold your hand and make you feel special. This place reeks of "Put your fucking head down and grind" Somedays you need that. I have always enjoyed working out. It's always been a thing that I knew made me feel on the inside as well as the outside. For a long time after my 2nd daughter I struggled BAD. I really didn't have PPD but I definitely had PP Anxiety. Everything made me worried everything was stressing me out. Ans on top of that I HATED my body. I was the heaviest I'd ever been sitting at 285 right before I gave birth and was at 268 right before my surgery. When I was sitting at that weight I didnt want anyone to see me especially not working out. I mean hell I sweated so much as it was not adding that ontop of it but I knew the gym for me was therapy. Now I change my workout every 6 weeks & recently I no longer feel intimidated by working out mostly in the weight room @missmiafit inspired me to focus on my lower half of my body with has helped my confidence tremendously. I have always had thick thighs and I will continue to have thick thighs. But being laser focused on that has made me feel so effing HOT in my ever transforming body. So here's my tip if you're nervous about going into the gym. 1. Pick your fave body part on you & work that out because you're gonna feel hot while you're doing it. 2. Find someone on social media who has the body type you want or works out how you want & see the moves they post 3. Listen to some music that makes you feel freakin incredible 4. If you need to feel like you need to wear makeup to the gym to be your best there do it and dont give AF what anyone thinks 5. Where clothes that expose or show the area you are working on because once you start seeing those muscles working its game on! I'm no expert but I know jumping in the gym has helped me in so many ways!!!

My weight fluctuates like crazy and I gain and loose it in all the main places. So I took some progress pics for the next 12 weeks of my goals/plan & I was going to put them together when I got distracted by this pic instead. . This is me, at 5:30am on Tuesday at MMHQ (where I work). I'd been up for about an hour & half to get up, ready & out to set up for my first bootcamp class. . This is my real transformation. This is why I keep going. . Cos if I'm honest, that beautiful babe on the left had NO idea of her capabilities or her worth. I used to wake up & count like a mantra in my head. I would tell myself, 10yrs.. in 10yrs how old will my kids all be, where will I be living, what will I be doing. I'd tell myself, "You can do this, you did the last 10 - you can do 10more years, then we'll just do 10more again." I look at her & I know how hard she flight to survive, how she looked for joy in the smallest things to get through the day. I know how beaten down, lost & lonely she was. And look at what she did. . Hells yes she did burpees - which taught her that she was determined so she did them harder & faster. Hells yes, she did commandoes - which taught her she was unbreakable so she did them on her toes. Hells yes she did X3 workouts - which taught her she was strong so she set bigger goals. Hells yes she ran 1km - which taught her she had stamina so she ran 41more. . Investing in my fitness taught me that I WAS STRONG & CAPABLE & I took those 28min victories into my entire life. It transformed my confidence as much as my muscle mass, & THAT changed my life. I started taking time for me. I started being unapologetic for who I am. I started having goals & I stopped being ashamed of them. I started having a voice & I admitting scary truths. I was able to walk away. I was able to try new things. & I find myself here... Living snack bang in the middle of my wildest dreams. . If you told me 2yrs ago that I'd be a marathoner, I'd be chasing gains or mowing my lawn happily in a bikini - I'd think you were aiming high. If you told me that I'd be qualified, single, working, setting boundaries & waking up genuinely happy - I'd think you were mental. Fitness did that - I did that. & now I wake up & say HELLS YES to the next 10yrs 👊🏻
