Happy #nationalfitnessday 🙌💙👞! Today is supposed to remind us to move our bodies and to celebrate living an active lifestyle. It's not about being the fittest person in the room, running further or faster than the person in front or lifting heavier than your gym buddy. Fitness is personal and it's about challenging yourself and pushing your own boundaries a little further each day. One person who absolutely role models this at the moment is my daughter. Everyday I see her achieve something new, whether it's another few steps, reaching a toy, climbing an extra step. Everyday she is testing what her body is capable of, she is inspired by others but she works within her own limitations and finds absolute joy in that. The pride on her face when she achieves something new is so uplifting. It inspires me and is a great reminder that we are naturally built to move and explore and to enjoy it. Developing your own fitness should never be too hard or boring. At times it will be challenging but above all it should be fun and seeing those incremental gains in your own physical and mental fitness should be exciting and empowering. If you're not finding joy in what you're doing try something new until you find an activity that fits you and your personal goals. Happy Hump Day! 🐪 Wednesday upper body workout done, first I did a live workout in our online PT group using just our bodyweight, then I continued on myself with my weights. I’m not physically where I want to be yet, but I know that I’m getting stronger and improving every day. It’s all about showing up and being consistent, even on the days you don’t want to, you have to want those results bad enough, think of why you started and the people who are watching and wanting you to fail. Comparison is the theif of joy!. . Are you guilty of comparing yourself to other mums? other women? other people? . . I know I was, and even now when I feel I have my ducks in a row, I still sometimes find myself comparing my behind the scenes with someone elses highlight reel. Its the most cliche' saying, but there has never been more truth to it! 'Dont compare your chapter 1 to someone elses chapter 20'. . . The way i interepret this message is that you have no idea what goes on behind the scenes. you dont know what the people you look up to had to go through to get where they are. Respect your own journey! Take one step forward every day, and after a year you will be 365 days ahead of where you are now. Get excited about that!
