I'll never forget back when my fitness coach @gainswithbrains said that the most important thing I could do was track my calories. We were on the basketball court and he said, "If you don't start becoming aware of what calories are in what foods, then you'll never succeed at the level you want to." . It's crazy because back then I thought tracking your calories was crazy, but now that I've seen the unbelievable results that come from a heightened awareness of what calories are in what foods, I think it's crazy not to. . There's another thing Nate taught me that changed my mindset and fitness life forever. He said, "Alan, there are no unhealthy foods, only unhealthy portions." . In other words, you're not struggling to hit your fitness goals because you're eating the quote, unquote wrong foods; but rather, you're eating the wrong amount of them. . My fitness folks, please don't be lackadaisical about this. If you want to finally become the master of food and not the slave, start to raise your awareness of what calories are in what foods. . Tracking my caloric input is single-handedly the greatest fitness decision I've ever made. It's a pain in the butt at first, but eventually it becomes normal. . And what if your dream physique really was on the other side of this one critical habit? Would you actually start tracking? Only you can know that for yourself. 🔥💪

Really working on getting more drive out of the hamstrings with these guys. As you notice when they lift the weight off the ground their hips rise a bit. So here’s what we’re using to fix that. 1) Deficit deadlifts- this creates a larger ROM to really tax the muscles and helps with the initial pull off the ground on deadlifts because it creates a deficit. This really helps with hip rise. 2) Stiff leg deadlifts- this exercise in particular really taxes the hamstrings and helps create a mind muscle connection with the hamstrings to help with recruitment on a regular deadlift. . .
