5 minutes for to prep “green stuff” ... Now you have veggies all week! Having green veggies every day can do amazing things for your health, body, and mind! And it’s as easy as 1,2 and 5 minutes! I popped the broccoli in the microwave - it was pre cut up and steamed in the bag - the green beans and shrooms I steamed in a man for 3 minutes... how much easier can it get? Put a lil butter or oil & a bit of seasoning & you have a healthy side just like that! It doesn’t have to be complicated, or expensive, or rigid. Eating healthy can be easy and delicious. Eeek, I've had this photo on my camera roll for a few weeks now but haven't posted it, on a good day with out eating crappy food and being bloated my waist measures 32 inches! I thought I'd share about my weightloss this evening 💪💪 but it's no big secret! I've never calorie/weight counted for the sheer reason to avoid developing a bad relationship with food. My meals are varied and balanced, I've cut down massively on dairy and meat products and have replaced it with soya, beans, pulses, seeds, nuts and most importantly fruit and veg. Every morning with my breakfast I take my multivitamins and probiotics. Eating a healthy nutritious breakfast really sets you up for a good day! I promise 🤞 I think the biggest tip I can give to anyone making lifestyle changes is to focus on one aspect at a time and do something today your tomorrow self will thank you for. 30 minutes on the treadmill at 15 incline 3.0-3.5 mph in sweats...can you say BUCKETS of sweat? Third time this week, and I try to do more time and a higher speed every time. I’m trying to cut some shawarma fat. lol I reached 100lbs on the vbar lat pulldowns. Not too shabby. Lastly, still lacking free weights, we tried this row. It was actually pretty smooth, so I didn’t hate it. I couldn’t do my bent over dumbbell rows though, so I’m not happy. I wanted to try 40s tonight. We did shoulders tonight too, but I didn’t record those. FITNESS MYTHS: Let's talk about two fundamental myths that are spreading like wildfire these days: 1) Squats give you a booty ❌ 2) HIIT training is the "best" way to lose body fat ❌ Ok so, numbero uno: Squats are a leg dominant exercise. They will predominantly activate the quads, not glutes. If you reaaaally want to build a bangin booty, you need to 1) Be doing glute dominant exercises such as: Hip thrusters (Barbell, Plated, or banded Bridges are amazing too) Side leg raises, kick backs/donkey kicks (I recommend banded and weighted) Any type of Froggies etc and 2) You need to check your diet. Are you consuming enough calories and protein for your body to grow muscle mass?? If you're doing crazy amounts of cardio a week, you can likely say goodbye to those booty gains! Which brings me Numero dos: HIIT is brilliant, and it serves it's purpose - it is SO affective at burning fat and in such little time!...However too much of it (anymore than 3-4 times a week really) will encourage your Adrenal glands to produce too much Cortisol (your "get up and go" Hormone) This can prevent you from sleeping, perpetuate stress and actually increase body fat storage! (Do your googling for more info) So, really if you want to burn more body fat, the first thing you need to do is simple: Put less calories into your body than you are exerting. That's the best start! As far as exercise is concerned: HIIT is amazing, but it has it's negatives to be aware of 📚 Just aim to cross train. A calorie burned is a calorie burned. Be it by lifting, running, dancing or cycling. Lift weights, swim, dance, hike, run, stretch - whatever makes YOU feel good. But remember when you're stressed or feel like you're exercising loads but seeing "no results", a big cardio sesh is probably the last thing you want to do. FIT TIP TUESDAY: Wanna know why I love cable workouts for biceps? First off☝🏼 overtraining biceps is a huge common issue. People figure to have ‘toned’ arms you have to do 1 million curls when in REALITY your TRICEPS are the longest set of muscles in your arm (saving for a later post this week WAIT on it😉) .. . But back to the use of a cable tower for curls. If done in good form- straight back, elbows locked to the sides, limited to NO momentum with each rep- The pump can be gnarly. . . . The CONSTANT TENSION and STEADY CONTROL ON BOTH ENDS OF THE MOVEMENT is what the cable provides which is essential for bicep growth/ pump. The ECCENTRIC motion (I.e. on the way down) needs just as much attention (if not more!) as the CONCENTRIC movement (on the way up) . . That eccentric portion of the movement is ACTUALLY where all the true hypertrophy/growth is created🧐🧐 interesting right? . . I see a lot of swinging dumbbells at the gym not done with control- a lot of machine abusers loading a pattern that could later injure their shoulders because of the sagittal extension of the shoulder placed on a pad while driving forced loads on to the biceps. These all can be effective but I’ve always really enjoyed grabbing ANY attachment and getting a pretty intense pump on the cables! I’m legit using a tricep triangle attachment for this one! Save to use this method on your next arm day! Ps @blspringfit is so cute I can’t

What I’m about to say is more directed towards my girls out there, but guys feel free to read on 😜 •Mother nature is CrEePiNg up and ya know what that means, aunt-flo is coming. That time of the month we all dread. Although I do stay mindful of the food, and what I put into my body, when your hormones are in a RAGE it’s okay to back down a little. The truth is... IT’S OKAY TO CHEAT A LITTLE- just not all the time. Here is what 2 days ago looked like for me: PSA with all of this food, I also drank OVER a gallon of water... 💧 •Breakfast- hard boiled egg, cup of raspberry yogurt, 2 cups of coffee, LOTS OF CREAMER •Snack- 2 tbsp PB •Lunch- 2 med size slices of meatloaf, steamed mixed veggies, cubed potatos •Snack 2- 2 small slices of pizza, 12-13 cherry tomatoes, small cookie dough blizzard from DQ •Dinner- Bag of popcorn with white cheddar seasoning. Yeah, that was my dinner ———————————————————— I was hungry literally all day, bloated, tired, and grumpy. It was a “bad” day for me. No balance what-so-ever. I felt disappointed in myself, but then I remembered that ONE DAY doesn’t kill me. So, if you have a day where you’re all about the food DONT beat yourself up for it. If anything, being all carbed up made my workout the day after amazing. After a day like that you just have to be mindful that, that is NOT an everyday thing. If you want results, you have to WORK for them. They’re not given. Days like that do set you back, but keep that in mind. It’s all in how bad you want it. I would of kept my guard up a little more but anybody who truly knows me, knows that I am SO picky on what I drink/eat so I figured what the hell. Gimme all the goodies😍😍. Next day I sweat my ass off in the gym and killed my workout. BALANCE! •Today is push day so you already know the pump is about to be real. 💚You can’t spell CHALLENGE without CHANGE💚 #transformationtuesday post: Having done #crossfit for about 2 years before I got preggos, I felt pretty confident to continue throughout the 9 months. And I did as much as I could and my body would allow. After giving birth, getting back into shape was probably 10x easier. Finding the time during the first 4 months was more difficult! Haha!! But as soon as we got things into routine, I started training early in the morning, and put some focus into proper nutrition. I never at unhealthily, but I often ate too little, or too much. Ive gone vegetarian, vegan, paleo, semi-raw, juiced it all.... and all had their benefits. But since I switched to keto... Ive seen and felt changes faster than anything before.
