I haven't talked about this in a while! Just listen to the music, FLOW and LET IT GO...🙌🏼💜⚙️ Having a rough or emotional day? Holding onto feelings or energy that aren’t serving you?? You seriously just need to FLOW and LET IT GO!!! When stress affects the brain, with its many nerve connections, the rest of the body feels the impact as well. So it stands to reason that if your body feels better, so does your mind. Exercise and other physical activity produce endorphins—chemicals in the brain that act as natural painkillers—and also improve the ability to sleep, which in turn reduces stress. Scientists have found that regular participation in aerobic exercise has been shown to decrease overall levels of tension, elevate and stabilize mood, improve sleep, and improve self-esteem. Even five minutes of aerobic exercise can stimulate anti-anxiety effects. Of course I’m going to recommend PiYo to relieve that stress or tension. The FLOW section is especially freeing and emotional for me. Between the music and the movements, your entire body is engaged in a beautiful, stress relieving movement. Just GORGEOUS. ⚙️ So if that's you today, even if it's not PiYo, get some physical activity to get those FEEL GOODS going in your body...😘 PiYo peeps - what round has your favorite FLOW section??

If you guys have been following my #reversedieting journey on my Instagram stories, you probably know that I have been getting InBody scans every Wednesday to monitor body composition changes.⠀ ⠀ This post shows the comparison of Week 1 to Week 2. In one week I had gained 1 lb on the “scale” yet I had decreased 0.2 lb of body fat and gained 1.5 lb of muscle - I was also carrying approximately 1 extra lb of water. ⠀ ⠀ BUT - had I JUST seen the # on the scale - it would be easy to get caught up in that number!⠀ ⠀ The scale IS a data point that I recommend using but never on it’s own. Other forms of measuring progress include: measurements, pictures and the “skinny jeans test”. If you can get something like @InBody or a dexa scan that would be great too! ⠀ ⠀ The main thing is that the scale is GOING to fluctuate (#facts) so try as best as you can to REMOVE the emotional frustration that ensues from that number. The more reactive you are to it - the more you let it control you. And YOU have all the power <3 !⠀ ⠀ Be sure to check out my Insta stories from today so that you can check out my third InBody scan!

We usually learn something once we’ve had an experience that teaches us a lesson 😢... And for most of my life that’s how I’ve learned things (usually the hard way🙈)... Using poles during mountain races has now become standard practice for me. I learned this when I ran a mountain race at night, with high altitude (11,000 ft😱), freezing weather conditions, and no poles😬😩🙈!!! Since then, I’ve used poles during any race that has more than 3.500 ft. of climbing ⛰🏃‍♀️ What is your experience with using poles during a race?
