It’s been a few days since The last time I posted on my feed, but that doesn’t mean I have stopped working towards my fitness goals. 💪😤 No way, José! . My calories have gone down in the last few weeks, and I’m finally getting used to eating that low (1,700cal). I hate feeling hangry!!! 😩 . Thankfully, I can always add a little more activity to my day if I’m in the mood for #chocolate 😬🍫 Gotta love #flexibleeating . Today was #legday! (Never skip leg day, chicos! 🐓🚫) ...And surprisingly, my calories are in the low side too. 😱 . Trust me, every day it’s a struggle but I want to remind you that it gets better as you progress and the results will keep you motivated! 🏆 . ANYONE can throw macros at a client on a piece of paper and call it coaching. ⠀ BUT. ⠀ True success with nutrition goes WAY deeper than macros. ⠀ My friend @chase_chewning and I were discussing this topic today. Any moron can put macros in an email and call that “coaching.” #sorrynotsorry ⠀ However, a REAL nutrition program should be built upon: ⠀ ✅Food quality. ✅Your style, intensity, and volume of training. ✅Your sleep. ✅Stress levels. ✅And your hormones. ⠀ If you are receiving a nutrition plan that does NOT take ALL of these factors into consideration, your coach is doing you a disservice. ⠀ Listen, creating nutrition programs isn’t rocket science. ⠀ But it IS science.🙌💯 ⠀ Thoughts?👇🏼👇🏼 ⠀ Double tap if you are going to CRUSH your goals this weekend!👊❤️😊

SQUAT EVERYDAY🏋️‍♀️ by @physiotrition 🔵Squatting is a fundamental human movement that we should all be able to do daily well into our last few years. We are all born with perfect mobility, but lose this over time due to our reliance on chairs and too much sitting. Don't believe me? Look at a toddler squat. Most, without knowing, will hinge at the hips, sit back with a neutral spine and toes pointing forward. They don't have to be taught, but it seems as we grow up we need to be re-taught. Don't worry if you can't get into a deep squat just yet, I'll soon have a post on dealing with mobility, but today let's look at the benefits👍 🔴The deep squat is a perfect way to maintain hip and knee mobility. Hemmerich et al 2006, found that hip flexion of roughly 130* and knee flexion of 165* is needed to maintain adequate flexibility for the activities of daily living. Practising the deep squat daily ensures that you keep your hips and knees this flexible🤸🏻‍♀️ 🔵Deep squats are also key to keeping your knees healthy. Deep squats aren’t bad for knees contrary to popular belief. Salem et al 2001, showed no difference in stress or force on the knees between squat depths of 70, 90, or 110 degrees. Li et al 2004, then found that deep squats elicited a protective effect on the PCL and ACL, due to the compression of the tissues between the tibia and femur🔥 🔴Deep squatting will also lead to increased activation of the glutes and hip musculature and hypertrophy of these muscles. And ultimately improved functionality and athletic performance, with squat depth being positively correlated with vertical jump height (Weiss L, et al. 2000, Caterisano A, et al. 2002, Matuschek C, et al. 2012)😁 🔵As you can see the benefits of daily squats are crazy. If you, like 95% of the western world, spend upwards of 6 hours a day sitting, I urge you to at least spend 10 of these mins a day in deep squat. Ideally, we should aim to reduce sitting to a complete minimum, but this is a step in the right direction. 😍 📥DM me with any questions about training, mobility or nutrition👌

Ladies, you don’t have to eat less just because you’re a girl! 💁🏼‍♀️ ⠀ Those “his” and “hers” meal photos where “hers” is always 100s of calories less than “his” are bs. They promote stereotypes and basic needs equations that are rarely accurate. ⠀ There are plenty of women who need just as much or more calories than their male counterpart. Unfortunately, society teaches us it’s better to walk around hangry and undernourished, it’s more ladylike. 🙄 ⠀ This is #dietculture at its finest. Don’t let society dictate how much you should eat. You should always listen to your body, it will not lead you astray. ⠀ If you’re hungry, eat until you’re satisfied, and don’t pay any attention to how much “he” eats. It doesn’t dictate how much you should have. ⠀ Real talk, the hubs and I ate the exact same amount for dinner. This wasn’t a fluke either. We almost always have similar dinner plates. I’m 5’7”, he’s 6’1 and outweighs me by quite a bit, but we still eat the same size dinner. For the longest time, I genuinely thought I needed to eat a HUGE breakfast in order to lose weight.⠀ ⠀ 🤭This forced me to eat when I wasn’t hungry, which resulted in a lack of hunger awareness and a warped view of what and when I should be eating.⠀ ⠀ 🍳I want to create this little graphic for you so that you know you don’t need to eat breakfast to lose weight. In fact you might be better off not eating breakfast if it’s more of a nuisance or if you’re not hungry in the morning!⠀ ⠀ 📈If you want to lose weight, what truly matters at the end of the day is that you’re in a calorie deficit! As long as you’re consuming less calories than you need, it doesn’t matter whether you eat breakfast or not!⠀ ⠀ ⏰Fast forward to my current schedule, and I don’t usually eat until 11/12pm because I am not hungry in the morning. And guess what?! P E A C H E S 🤤 have been my newest food addiction lately 😵 so I bought like 2838921! of them & have been eating them like this a loooott 🙌🏻😂 Peaches & Cream-Y Yogurt 😍 •greek yogurt •peach (obviously 😛) •hemp, almond, walnut (or whatever other nutz you have laying around) for the crunch factor 😌 It’s supposedly national peach month 🤷🏼‍♀️ & peaches are at their peak until the end of August (makes sense as to why they are SO good riii now) so get your peaches while they’re in there prime time 👌🏻👌🏻 Hope everyone has a peachy weekend ☺️💕🍑 #snack
