WORKSHOP ALERT! (Link in bio) Come join me for a day of learning in my hometown. This workshop discusses everything from what you need to shoot a landscape, how to plan a landscape, how to execute and edit your final image. So stoked for this one so come join me and let's have some fun. This is one of two workshops that I will be putting on in the near future. Stay tuned for details on my second workshop that is taking place in early summer of 2020 in Jasper National park. @travelalberta

Made it back to this mighty bridge of dreams! You never fail to amaze me, NYC!

Tuesday's photo tip! Explore any place! Don't go only for the obvious (and avoid the cliche)! . . . Yes it's superb to get some iconic shots with traditional objects or gestures. A beautiful old lady with a traditional Nón lá sitting in a market, a fisherman throwing his net from his fragile boat facing the sunrise, a colorful saddhu with impressive eyes staring at you ... All of these scenes are like candies for photographers and let's be honest : it's good to have a sugar rush sometimes 😁. But it would definitely be a mistake to focus only on the obvious scenes and people that you "already expected", even before landing in this new country. There is some treasures to find and they are sometimes hidden in plain sight. Dare to explore the streets, the places where no one seems to look at. A building site can actually be full of amazing images to compose, playing with light, dust, shapes and textures. And it's also a more honest way to practice your travel photography : capture all the reality(ies), the different faces of the same country. Believe me, once you'll start to explore the unexpected, you will feel anywhere like Charlie entering the chocolate factory for the first time 🤩📷... . . . I’m so glad I didn’t sell my #fujixt20 when I got the X-T3. Paired with the #xf27mm, it’s truly a take-everywhere combo. The smaller (original?) #peakdesign strap completes the setup nicely. #fujilove #fujifilm #fujilovegear

Beirut’s old Green Line - el Shouhada / Weygand st. I took this picture in 1995. It was very sad to see, but also strangely beautiful. #greenline #lebanon #downtown #beirut #civilwar #cheapcamera #blackandwhite #film #fujilove #feelingold

I was nothing more than just another tourist, doing all the well-known, pre-envisioned touristy things one does when they drop into London. I was enjoying my first walk along the Thames, rain clouds and sunlight were engaged in a constant struggle. I shuddered at the notion of waiting in line for the Eye, and made my way to Westminster Bridge. I made it to the top of the steps and was then greeted by the most appalling sight. Under the dramatic backdrop of that magnificent palace, one of my fellow human beings was relegated to hawking the world’s most inhumane sandwich. It was all so crass to me, it made my head spin. I stood there watching the man for a fee minutes and he barely moved. His eyes remained transfixed towards some blank point in space. He sat there motionless , as if under some spell of dread. I walked away and made a lap around the river bridges and 20 minutes later found myself back at the Subway guy. He was in the same mummified pose, when suddenly he stood up with his sign, but without changing his vacant glare, and just stood there. It was like watching a Queen’s Guard of menial labor. It was my first day in the city and I was crushed by an overwhelming sadness. I tried to make eye contact with him by staring at him for minutes at a time. His eyes were as if afraid to cross themselves with another man’s. I kept looking and looking and then I saw it! His eyes made a quick dart in my direction! We locked eyes! “There’s someone in there!” I thought and went up to him. “Hello! I don’t mean to stare but I’m curious. How much do they pay you!?” He was silent and not looking at me. “I don’t mean to be nosey. I’m Nick.” More silence. I stood by for what felt like an eternity and he continued to ignore me. My anger was rising. It doesn’t feel good to be ignored. “CAN YOU RESPOND!?” I yelled. More silence, but this time his eyes for a second time made a quick shift to my own gaze before returning to his original state. I was furious now. I followed his arrow and marched to the Subway to complain and tell them he spat at me. “If he gets fired...” I thought, “ it’s for his own good.”

Finally going through a bunch of photos from my last trip to Boston. Here’s a quick shot I captured of a street musician tuning his banjo. Harvard sq, Cambridge. 2019 . . #streetportrait #portrait #streetmusician #fujilove #fujifilm #fujifilmxt2 #boston #harvardsquare
