One week and one day completed of Insanity Max 30 so far. It is serious work! I love that the weekends are rest days and I can do yoga or the rest workout (pulse). . Leg day. You either love it or hate it. It’s a big ol loathe for Fit Loser Sam. But I’m working on building my strength back so that’s a plus now. Goal is to get back to squatting 225lbs by the end of the year (what I was doing before I started prepping and fighting with my back and knee). This is leg day 1/2 of the week. Full Body Workout By @musclemonsters _ If you’re relatively new to weight training, a high frequency Full-Body approach is great for many reasons. For starters, we have plenty of research showing that training a muscle-group more frequently produces more muscle growth than training it once per week when volume is equal. _ Secondly, because we’re hyper-sensitive to the stress, we won’t require as much volume as a more advanced trainee (this will allow us to hit our entire body without having to spend hours in the gym hammering each muscle group). _ And lastly, the repeated bout effect… it’s been shown that the more frequently we train a muscle-group (to a degree) the more efficient we become at recovering from our training – the faster we can recover, the quicker we’ll experience strength and muscle gains. _ If you wish to follow a full-body routine like the one outlined here, it can be scheduled one of two ways: _ 1. One day on, one day off, repeat (alternating between Workout A and Workout B). _ 2. 20-MINUTE AMRAP WORKOUT at @equinox #eqxpartner. 3 movements, full body, perfect for those days when you're short on time. • AMRAP means as many rounds as possible. Set your time for 20 minutes and go through this circuit as many times as you can. Since you're throwing around some hefty weights here, don't be afraid to take your time and make the most of each rep. No resting, though! Get after it: • ⚡️ Sumo Deadlift, 12 reps: Knees going in the same direction as your toes. Use a KB that will make the last few reps difficult. • ⚡️ Double KB Complex, 6 reps: 1 push-up, 1 clean squat, 1 press. Simple but it'll burn 🔥 • ⚡️ Single-Leg Deadlift, 10 reps on each leg: Keep your hips level and core tight • As you can see, there is always plenty of open space for me to do my thing at @equinox.
