💥I GAINED 6LBS OVERNIGHT💥 # So last night I had a conversation with a client who is currently cutting but is struggling with his daily weight fluctuations. I discussed with him what could be the main factors to this. Coincidentally, the perfect example happened to me this morning. On average, I have weighed ~212lbs recently, but this morning I was 217.6lbs🤯 # Now I know why this is. It’s not because I overate calories and it certainly isn’t 6lbs of fat gain. Yesterday, I simply ate more carbs than I usually would do. Me and @amyfitnessuk had sushi for dinner, which took my carbs way over what I usually would eat in a day. These excess carbs will have caused more water retention, hence the big surge in body weight ⚖️ # Am I bothered? No. Did I gain 6lbs of fat? No. Do I look any different today? Not really. All I’ll do today is make sure I go back to my consistent eating pattern and the weight will drop to normal by tomorrow, if not then Wednesday🤷🏼‍♂️ # Multiple factors can influence daily weight fluctuations, including: 1️⃣ Carb intake 2️⃣ Sodium/salt intake 3️⃣ Hydration 4️⃣ Time of your last meal 5️⃣ Hormones levels (especially women) 6️⃣ What type of training you’ve done 7️⃣ The time of day you weigh yourself # To combat these inevitable weight fluctuations, I would recommend you do two things. Firstly, be consistent. The more of these factors you can keep consistent, the more reliable your weigh-ins are going to be. Eg weigh yourself at the same time, consume consistent amounts of carbs, salt and water, have a time limit of when your last meal can be etc. ✅ # Secondly, measure your weight daily but then take weekly averages and compare them to previous weeks. This way you can see trends in weight week-to-week as opposed to trying to use daily weights as a reliable indicator of progress✅ # Hope you guys took something from this and it helps you realise that one or two bad weigh-ins doesn’t mean you’re on the wrong track. How do you guys combat weight fluctuations? Does it affect you at all?✌🏼

Today is a miraculous day for me. I was underweight for a huge proportion of my life. Struggling to eat. Struggling to keep any weight on at all. I am the head pest J have ever been and according to my wristwatch app, I'm directly in the middle of normal. A place I never thought I would be. I am so so happy with my body. Except one thing. My tummy. It used to be the only thing that I was happy with bodily. Now it's my one bad point. Sometimes it overwhelms me and I want to stop eating altogether. I have near constant bloating issues due to my gastric issues from Ehlers Danlos. If it wasnt for that maybe of be happier. For now, I'm just trying to concentrate on all the things that I am happy with.
