Where have i been ? Today marks 10 workouts done. Or lets say second week finished on @gracefitguide . While there is not really drastic changes i feel like i am stronger already. I started lifting 2kg drumbells and end of week i can lift 6kg each arm. I started squats with empty bar and now adding 10kg each side. I know it might not be a lot, but having exercise gives me boost for whole day. Despite all workouts i still managed to work, take children for after school clubs and cook every day. Its all possible! I am honest - totally had anxiety of gym, but here i go , headphones on and rocking gym selfie. Dont hesitate to share your best workouts with me, something that targets abs and glutes😊 i most likely would love to have much advice as i can. And those who are on guide - keep going, believe me ,last week i was in such a pain,i could not walk down the stairs or draw eyebrows straight. It's Fridayyyyyyy another protein elevenses idea, seeing as it's 11 and I mean, why not: These genuinely tastes as good as KitKats, but with slightly better macros. We're not talking amazing here. But compared to a regular KitKat they've got like 3 more grams of protein so eh, why not A normal KitKat has 104 calories and this has 113, so 9 more calories, but the @novonutrition bar has 8.1g carbs compared to the KitKat's 13g, if you're looking for something slightly lower carb. Beware that the Novo bar makes up for this with fat though so if you're on really low fat macros I'd give this a miss. Macros: 113 kcal 8.1g carbs 8.5g fat 3.3g protein

Hi there! 👋🏼 As some of you will know I posted on my story asking if you guys would be interested in seeing what I typically buy when grocery shopping. So here it is! These are some of my go-to staples that I like to buy every week or two. Not everything I buy is in this photo as some things I hadn’t run out of, but you get the idea 😂 Some other staples I like include eggs, cashews, almonds, protein bars, chickpeas, pickles, jalapeños, almond milk, parmesan, frozen veggies, frozen fruits and blueberries (they’re in this photo, but they are hiding behind the cucumber lol). If you struggle to get enough protein throughout the day I definitely recommend trying to get protein in as many foods possible as it all adds up. I like to buy bread and wraps that are higher in protein, protein+ yogurt, oats, veggies like spinach & broccoli... the list goes on. I love to mix a bit of protein powder with protein+ greek yogurt and top it with fruit (usually bananas, blueberries & strawberries). Another little tip is to add black beans, chickpeas, edamame etc to your meals as they are also packed with protein ☺️ If you’d like me to share some meatless recipes of my go-to meals that have plenty of protein, let me know! 😁💕

Here is a quick current shape update! ✨ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I am back into tracking calories for a while so I make sure I eat enough and I eat sufficient protein as well 🍎🥦 This in combination with training hard and focusing on becoming stronger creates the optimal environment to build muscle 💪🏼 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So far I notice I have more energy during the day and my workouts, while I am still quite lean ⚡️ I also got my body fat percentage measured so I know I am not only gaining fat 😂 The body fat percentage will not be very accurate, but I am trying to stay about the same percentage while increasing my overal body weight, so it is more of a guideline for my progress. Besides that, you will almost always gain a little bit fat and not purely muscle, so don’t stress too much about that 🙌🏼 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The biggest struggle for me stays the mental part 🧠 So I don’t weigh myself everyday, to avoid getting obsessed my numbers. Try to look in the mirror and see the progress you’ve made! 💫 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I will talk a little bit more about this and my body fat percentage in my story!

Me, on Christmas Day, enjoying a cider with my family ❤️ . . Yesterday, I was going through more of my old clothes (it’s a never ending battle) and guess what? My jumpsuits that I had custom made don’t fit me anymore 😂 Now, let me just assure you, that didn’t bother me. It doesn’t bother me. I am very happy with where I am at. HOWEVER. It also reminded me that I haven’t been caring for my body as well as I would like. Despite what you might be told, it’s OKAY if you’re motivated/reminded by things like that. I have no intention of ‘fitting back in’ to those jumpsuits. I’m letting go of them, and that’s cool. They were great and have given me a lil kick up the butt to be kinder to my poor body and improve my mindset. Whether I get bigger or smaller from here doesn’t matter to me personally, as long as I’m being healthy and prioritising good food and exercise (although I’d love to gain some muscle this year 💪🏼). Move a little more, eat a bit more colour. The break was wonderful, and now it’s time to get back to doing what makes me feel best! 🙈 . . RESISTANCE BANDS AREN’T JUST FOR BOOTYS ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️ ⠀ Make sure you’re warming up your upper bod muscles just as much as you are for lower bod. This helps strengthen & prep the rotator cuff muscles in your shoulders and helps prevent injury. ⠀ We always incorporate these types of exercises at the beginning of our workout session and then go into a lightweight dumbbell triset to start with - most gyms will have longer resistance bands like this one dotted around the gym, if not amazon does some good ones❤️ ⠀ Happy Friday!!😘 and if you haven’t already go check our last post and enter our #gfg giveaway 💓

Heavy weight lifting vs light weight lifting So I heard something the other day that made me really think - ‘until you can make a light weight feel heavy you will not be able to progress anywhere with heavier weights’ Now let me tell you something, as a girl who used to lift HEAVY HEAVY this could not be more true. I used to neglect the light weights thinking they won’t make any difference to me but through doing that I lost my form, I wasn’t working my muscles to the full capacity, I was getting injured (especially my hips) and a big one here I wasn’t loosing the weight I wanted. Your body needs to learn how to hold that extra weight properly and this can really only be achieved through starting off with lighter weights. You didn’t walk into the gym on your first day and pick up a 75kg barbell and start squatting it did you? No, exactly you built up to it and ensured you had the correct form/technique before you added on the weight. Constantly lifting heavy only puts extra strain on your joints/bones/body which you don’t want. Don’t neglect the lighter weights they got you lifting how much you are today. Muscles need variation to help them grow going heavy all the time is not variation. Mix it up, go back to that 15kg barbell and squat low and slow and make that weight feel heavy. I’m gonna be real.. so.. this week was not the best, i snuck in some extra carbs before yesterday and a lot of extra carbs and fat yesterday (yes i had a donut and & oil filled homemade dinner with lots of bread 🙄). I also only went to the gym 3 times this week (i will push myself to go today) and I’m trying not to beat myself about it but it is hard... It’s hard bc I feel like “breaking the rules” beats the purpose of this account, I literally made it to stay on track and keep myself motivated. Oooook this is a pretty vulnerable pic lmao but wow I was looking thru my beginning pics and was just genuinely so saddened by this first photo. I was so so so uncomfortable, so depressed, so disgusted with myself and shocked at the person in the reflection. I look in the mirror now and I’m almost always happy. Only 35lbs down but holy hell it has made a world of difference. That’s more than 1/3 of the way to my goal. Getting the sleep apnea diagnosis has honestly put my entire life in perspective, especially my mental health. My therapist explained to me some mental health horror stories she witnessed that were just untreated sleep apnea. With this new dx she’s decided that we can’t possibly have a clear picture of my mental health when I am both sleep deprived and oxygen deprived for much of the night! While I do believe I am a person who will always be prone to anxiety and depression, I suspect that getting my sleep apnea treated will be life changing. I believe I’ve been living with it since I was in high school, if not younger, depending on my weight. I have only ever been down to a “healthy” weight for maybe 2-3 full years of my life since age 14. Anyway, when I look at this before picture, wow. If my sleep is bad now, I cannot even imagine what my numbers would’ve been like back then. I have been doing a lot of private processing of my anger and resentment at the fat acceptance/ HAES movements that incorporate “anti-healthism” and “anti-weight loss” concepts into their dogmatic preaching. While I’m of the opinion that ultimately I alone am responsible for getting myself into and out of this health mess, it infuriates me to know there are bullshit “activist”-preneurs who are pushing this dangerous, pseudoscientific, enabling agenda that I once passively subscribed to because they managed to equate weight loss = fatphobia = white supremacy and I bought it. So many others do. Obesity is a disease. It’s not a revolutionary identity. One day when I have more sleep and less chub under my belt I’ll talk more about this. Until then, I will unabashedly discuss my weight loss progress on this account & feel endlessly relieved that I’m getting better.

Update on the Vegetarian diaries 🌱 Also, yellow is one of my favorite colors if you haven’t noticed. 😊 — It’s roughly been about 2 weeks since I’ve eaten meat. It’s not as hard as I thought it would be. I eat a lot more vegetables and tofu isn’t so bad (Although I need to find more seasonings than soy sauce) I don’t think I’ve lost any weight but I seem less bloated and have a bit more energy throughout the day. The only struggle is having to cook all the time, I’m not a big fan of cooking to begin with so there is a little bit of a struggle having to cook every meal. Another thing I’ve been struggling with are lunches. Every day it kinda stumps me what I want to make for lunch especially on days that I work. I’m still just starting though so I have time to get more a custom to meals. I have been enjoying foods that I never thought I would and I buy more food that I would have turned the other way. DUMBBELL ONLY LEG WORKOUT 🏋️‍♂️ I did this when I wasn’t feeling 100% so instead of going super heavy I did a dumbbell workout. I still got my sweat on and the pump was def real! 17/66 tried to flex & my arm came out looking real straight 😂 still trying to get the hang of it! I increased my base weights today for @gracefitguide arms from 4kg (last week) -> 5kg and managed to get through the whole workout still! 💪🏼

Hello lovely people! 👋🏼💕 It’s been a hot minute since my last post 😂 So I thought I’d update you all on my journey so far ☺️ Since you last heard from me I managed to do my first back and shoulders workout from GFG1 and officially completed my first week of the guide and challenge 😁 I must admit though I did struggle to fit in my back and shoulder workout so unfortunately didn’t get to smash it like I wanted to. On the bright side, this week have completed every workout, have increased my weights on every exercise and got through some finishers! Woop woop! 🙌🏼 I’m very proud of myself for really making an effort the past week and a half and I hope you guys are proud of yourselves too! I’ve been absolutely loving the @gracefituk challenge so far and love seeing everyone else’s progress! I can’t wait to see how far we go in the next few weeks 🎉 Oh and just a little reminder to celebrate the small wins! They are equally, if not more important as they lead up to the big wins. I know it can be hard sometimes to stay motivated, but trust the process and most importantly trust yourself! ☺️ You got this! 💕 Sidenote: Here’s a little throwback photo I took a few weeks ago during the Christmas holidays (it’s Summer during Christmas here in NZ... weird I know 🤪)

✨ hello. I have set this page up to help myself more than anything but hopefully it'll help others along the way too. I will be learning to love myself, save money for my first home, eat well (ish😛) & get in good shape using #gracefitguide #gfg 🏋🏼‍♀️. In the last few weeks I have decided to take 2019 in my stride. I have been battling social anxiety and depression since around 2011, something that I have had struggle openly speaking about until this year, and still refuse to speak about to the people closest to me. I constantly beat myself up about how I'm not good for anyone, nobody likes me because I'm a terrible person and how everyone is going to leave me, and worst of all, I care too much about what people think of me, even ones who don't matter. Something I need to stop this year. I've had enough of being negative about myself and I'm hoping this page will help me start to love myself again because quite honestly I can't remember what that feels like.
