I could not have asked for a better weekend spent with @arodfit. I’ve known him for 10 years now and we both have individually and collectively gone through so many different stages of our lives. That being said, there has ALWAYS been one true constant. No matter what has happened, good or bad, we have always come full circle right back to each other. He is and has always been a huge supporter and he consistently pushes me day in and day out to be the absolute best version of myself. Wow, is it ever HOT out in Edmonton today. ⠀ Days like today are bitter-sweet for me. ⠀ They're bitter because they remind me of all the summer social events I missed from 2012-2014, simply because I thought I needed to miss them in order to reach/maintain my goal physique. ⠀ I remember being invited to BBQ's, picnic, camping trips, pub patios, etc, and always saying that I was busy. ⠀ The truth is, I didn't want to be that guy eating chicken and rice out of a plastic container, while everyone else ate and drank normally, wondering what planet I was from. ⠀ You know exactly what I'm talking about. ⠀ As soon as you show up with the meal, everyone starts giving you a hard time, saying "it's just 1 meal, what's the big deal?" ⠀ The thing is, I knew it was totally fucked up. I knew that no way in hell was eating cold chicken and brown rice from a tupperware considered normal. It was no wonder people thought I was weird - I WAS weird! ⠀ But...I didn't know any other way. My knowledge was limited to what I had learned from my coach, which was that in order to maintain my physique, I HAD to follow the same meal plan, day in and day out. ⠀ I was trapped, and I'd bet a lot of you are in the same prison I was once in. ⠀ These days are also SWEET for me, because they remind me not only how much my own life has changed since then, but how many people's lives I've been able to change since then. ⠀ How many people I have freed from the mental prison I discussed above. ⠀ I think of all my past and current clients, and how they are enjoying themselves, eating cheeseburgers, drinking sangria, and making memories with family and friends. ⠀ And at the same time, reaching their health and fitness goals. ⠀ All because I went through that pain first, decided enough was enough, and spent years refining the most relaxed, most fail-proof fitness protocols. ⠀ I want you to know, you CAN be "normal" and still reach your fitness goals. You can go to every single social event, eat the food, and stay on track. You can have the champagne, the carrot cake, AND even the homemade banana bread from mom. ⠀ You can break free. ⠀ CONTINUED BELOW⤵️

You know what? I have this video because no matter what, it makes me smile. The story of this video: I was taking a snap after I got my brows dyed and momentarily thought I looked like a man. So I started laughing hysterically because I laugh at myself and my own thoughts a lot. 🙈 But to the actual point of this post... Today I picked myself up and said to myself that as long as I try my best, it will always be enough. On some days that will be a lot and sometimes not that much. Today I assembled my new IKEA shelf, answered bunch of emails, sent out contracts and booked a wedding for next summer, edited photos, ate pizza and watched Black Panther with my ex, played games and I feel like I won myself. Yes, I ate breakfast at 7 pm after waking up at 3 pm and didn't have energy to get up until maybe 6 pm but hey, that's life. And I cried too. I cry a lot. It's my way of dealing with life when I'm sad or mad or frustrated or happy or love something so much that it gets too much. I like myself as this emotional little being. So please don't try to make me change myself. There were so many years when I was so numb I wasn't able to cry and I'm so happy I've found that part of myself again. So whenever you see a crying photo of me, be happy that I'm being myself and I'm able to feel something.
