Quads are quickly becoming a favorite muscle to train!! Ever since I sprained my ankle I’ve been super focused on isolated moves that allow me to target and strengthen each leg individually. Ps - I used to hate walking lunges but I add in a few squat pulses between each rep and it gets more interesting and definitely burns 🔥🔥🔥 definitely recommend trying it out next time!!

❗️TRIGGER WARNING ❗️ as this talks about my history of restrictive eating when I was very young. ✨ Last week I found a journal from when I was 12 years old where all I would write is how much I hated my body. I wrote down the calories I would eat that day and tear myself down if I didn’t hit the numbers exactly. ✨ I even wrote that I should only eat 100 calories daily in order to reach my goal of losing weight and being skinny. I went on and on about how worthless I am and it’s so sad for me to think that anyone, especially a young girl, would hate herself so much. ✨ I have talked to a few other women on this platform who have reached out to me saying they went through the exact same thing and it breaks my heart to think that so many young girls feel that way about themselves. ✨ I hope that one day girls will grow up in a world where they aren’t taught by society to judge their worth based on the way they look. ✨ You are worth so so so much more than the way you look. Yes, I have physique goals that I eventually want to reach, but I am proud of the way I look, and more importantly feel, TODAY. hello.. so i haven‘t been active, nor have i been tonthe gym as much.. lost pretty much all my progress and am back at square one.. life is crazy sometimes and i had to focus on other stuff the past months but i‘m feeling much better now. mental health is so important and just because you can‘t see it physically doesn‘t mean it‘s any less important to focus on getting better and healing. the last few months were filled with anxiety and depression and some situations in life just make these things worse but it‘s okay. life has its up and downs. and now we‘re going up again 🌞❤️ and yes i‘m sad that all my progress is gone but hey starting over isn‘t a bad thing is it? #mentalhealth #fitness #gfg #gracefitguide #pp1 #peachplan #gym #strongnotskinny #health

Today I was super unmotivated and tired. I kept going forward and backwards deciding whether I was going to go to the gym or not. I finally dragged myself there and I am so glad I did because I had one of my best booty workouts in a while. . . I’m not sure if it was because I went there with really low expectations for what I would achieve but once I got into the swing of my workout my energy spiked and I really started getting into it. I finished off with some sprints and one of the PT’s came over and said how impressed he was with my speed and form which was the icing on the cake for a session I had presumed would be a complete dud. . . Injure yourself? MODIFY YOUR WORKOUT 💪🏼 . So like I told you guys before, I managed to tweak something in my hip flexor a few weeks back. I’m still experiencing a little bit of pain with it, and so even though I REALLY wanted to start out @mindpumpmedia MAPS Black with some heavy ass squats this week, I took a step back, re-evaluated, and subbed in these heavy ass lunges instead 🍑 . Honestly the lunge is a KILLER and often overlooked exercise that helps strengthen your body unilaterally -- meaning that each side of your body is being trained independently from the other. It’s also great to help you learn to engage your core and stay balanced throughout a functional plane -- it’s no joke swinging 115lbs/52kg around on your back for a few reps 🔥 . I think I’m going to keep these lunges in for squats for one more week to be sure that my hip flexor is back up to speed. Until then, I’ll be working on stretching it out and doing dead bugs to work it out a bit without putting too much strain on the muscle. It seems to be helping so far! .
